  1. This year will destroy the validity of this chart. I clicked, "NO" above because I did not realize that this was the Jimmy Johnson chart. Yes I use it to gauge fairness. Shows you how brilliant Johnson is. I hated him because he coached teams I spent a lifetime hating--Miami (college) Miami pros, and Dallas. But I love him on TV, along with Aikman and Romo (who is starting to fade) so go figure. And when he hosted my coach on a fishing trip to allow him to pick his brain, I now am a JJ fan. What that tells you about Rhule is incredibly encouraging as well.
  2. This may bomb, but I tried dammit!! Can you say you did?!!! We are going to have a few disputes this week, and the know-it-alls will be coming out of the woodwork. SInce I have never been in the woodwork, I am not referring to myself, obviously. So if you encounter an encounter in which you have a dispute, and since a Zoom duel is now "illegal" we should have a place to put your photo image where your mouth is. I stole this idea from Basbear and 45, and I like it. 1. You disagree with someone and talking smack is just not getting the results you want. 2. You make a bet about draft day. 3. The winner gets to chose a clean, non-offensive pic for the loser to use until the kickoff of the first regular season game. The pick cannot contain nudity, sexually suggestive imagery, or any logo or player from another NFL team. Any disputes or need to seek clarification will cause the bet to be thrown out, or both sides can agree to one referee whose decision is final. Perhaps Basbear and 45 can detail their bet issue and terms in response below. This could get fun.
  3. I do not make bad decisions, by the way. Everything I do gets me women, money, or fame. Guess which my latest decision--my new tattoo--got me? Of course, I choose to be a single, broke, anonymous person.
  4. I think you are right. He played RT in college. He might be a better RG than anything. A mauler.
  5. Did you catch the Myles Hartsfield "starting" reference? (I think he was the nickel at the end of the season). That is significant if he can hold the job. Prolly why we let Elder go.
  6. LTs I would take in the second round (red means they could be gone by pick 39, but if they drop, we will take them, imo): Walker Little (has not played in 2 years, but was mechanically sound. Would be a first rounder if he played. Screw the knee injury--he has had time to let it heal. Dillon Radunz is a mauler who needs a bit of pass protection fundamental work, but he is nearly as good as his NDSU QB. Sam Cosmi will drop, but he has a ton of experience in pass protection at Texas with a 90 grade. Not bad. Do not be surprised to see Carolina move up in the second to get Cosmi. Liam Eichenberg (ND) is a solid tackle who will give you all he has and does not make mental mistakes. Limited ceiling, but he is plug and play in the mid second round. Teven Jenkins (OKSt) might be my favorite, but he also might be a RT. Still, we need depth their and he is a mauling run blocker. Play him at RG if LT is not something he can do and if Moton wants to be paid like a LT while playing RT, then let him go. Alex Leatherwood (I am not a fan, but I will put him here anyway) There are also some later Ts that I really like: Spencer Brown (RT), Brady Christensen, Hudson from Cincinnati and Ball from Marshall. All can play backup for a year and compete in 2022.
  7. WR/TE if Pitts/CB and a T. I think we are trading back to find 3 starters OR to replace the Darnold 2022 draft picks or both. We are going to get one of our 16 first round grades on our board, and then we will have 3 picks in rounds 2-3. Move back with New England or Minnesota (the sleeper to move up for a QB imo) and sit back and take a Farley. At 39, take the best LT on the board--they are all better than what we have. Move back into the second for a WR.
  8. Good points. I think if we take CB in round 1, we might have to move back, then take a T and WR in round 2 to avoid that stigma.
  9. I tell you where we screw up at times (maybe not this time, because LT like Sewell make us froth at the mouth)--we compare one player against another one player and then decide how those single players will do on the next level. But it is a team sport, and there is a bit of "house of cards" approach to the team. For example, one card may support other cards more than the card you like. nobody seemed to want Surtain--a tall, shut-down / zone / press (you name it) CB who would immediately put Bouye and Jackson on lesser WRs--making them better. In turn, since he does not take the bait on double moves, you can leave him in man on their #1 and use the S to cheat to the other side--which allows players like pride or Jackson or Bouye to play tighter zone coverage. Better coverage helps the pass rush, so one player makes Burns, Reddick, YGM, and even Brown more effective--less blitzing is necessary. So yes, I would love a LT like Sewell or Slater, and I would love Pitts, but I will not cry if we take Surtain--or Horn---or Farley. I will be a big boy. I think a second round T will be ready in due time, and although he may not be as good as Sewell or Slater, the weapons we have around Darnold and his intelligence might offset that need a bit. Pitts? There is only one, but a TE (and I hate to reduce him to that--because we all know better) is not as valuable as a LT or #1 CB.
  10. We learn a lot about a person by the music he listens to....I don't mind a good yodel once in a while. Whose with me?
  11. Great point. No season, no combine---flyin blind. This is why a player like Walker Little could be such a steal if he falls to the third.
  12. Big CB, rarely bites on double moves--outside #1 Alpha CB. Why not introduce him into the conversation, even as soon as #8? Let's say Sewell is gone to Bengaland, and he probably will be. Pitts? A Falcon. Trevor (Jax), Wilson (Jests), Fields (Niner), Lance (Lion)--gone. Chase? a Dolphin. The Panthers take Surtain, CB, Alabama. You mad? Even without a trade down, the way the draft is shaking out, a solid #1 Alpha 10 year CB could be the smartest move---the KIND of CB the Panthers need is probably gone by pick 20-30. I know--you all have been pounding your chest for a T. Sniff. But he gone. Pitts? gone. While a LT makes your QB better, a #1 CB makes your pass rush better, the #2 CB better, and the S better. I am starting to think we are going to try to move back and grab Surtain, Horn, or Farley. I think they will wait to see what happens to the 2 Tackles, maybe only Sewell and Pitts, then move back. Call me crazy.
  13. I thought so, but I am reading this:
  14. I see that your taste in quality music and the trends they inspire is diverse and deep
  15. Underrated on a bad team with no qb
  16. The Lions are eerily in need of exactly what we need--and they pick 7---that suggests that they will take the best Need player on the board right before us. Some are rumoring that the Fishins take a QB at 6. Lions hoping for a top 2 OT, but would take Fields/Lance or a top WR.
  17. I have been listening to the posts---man, you introduced me to some good stuff.
  18. You are conflicted and need to seek music therapy. Go with Wagner if you like the classical. Coolio gansta paradise for a classic, mainstream pop gangsta selection, and this is going to sound really strange, but I love what Clapton does with the blues. See? I am conflicted worse than you.
  19. If I am not mistaken, this song was a hit in England and never really did much here. I think it was from the NEWS of the WORLD album.
