I checked his papers on Dude.com. He is not a dude at this time.

Agree for the most part, but changes are added: QB - Lawrence RB - Etienne (Harris--hard to judge a back who never gets hit at the LOS) WR - Chase (Depends on what kind you need, but yes, he is elite) OT - Sewell (Best since Joe Thomas, if you ask me) iOL - Vera-Tucker (This is the best answer, but I think there is a chance Wyatt Davis or Creed Humphries are better pros---I also expect a player listed as a T becomes an elite G---maybe even Slater) TE - Pitts (Not really a true TE--more of a Left mismatch or right mismatch) EDGE - Phillips (Kity may have the upside, but I see this) iDL - Onwuzurike (yep---love to see these guys in SEC or Big 10 Uniforms though) LB - Collins (Parsons, but the most incredible person at this position may come from Tulsa) CB - Horn (Surtain for me, only because he is less vulnerable to the double moves, which means you can cheat the S toward the weaker CB. Horn is solid however, and if Farley was not a bit dinged with a recurring back flare up, he could get love here too.) Good thread. S - Cisco

I think I am following the Basbear vs. 45 side bet as much as the draft itself.

THere was something on a website of them moving their RT inside...I forget now that it is so long ago since I read it. LT? They are good.

Maintaining perspective on draft day
MHS831 replied to TheMostInterestingMan's topic in Carolina Panthers
That's pretty damn interesting if you ask me. I'm in. -
I bet you $11,000,432.22 that they dont--and I will give 5-1 odds.

Patriots have talked to the Panthers about a draft day trade
MHS831 replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
We play the Pats every year. (except 2020) -
With the draft approaching I have one question.
MHS831 replied to Catsfan69's topic in Carolina Panthers
It was worse when Kiper knew the pick before it was announced and he predicted the pick correctly every time, even though his Draft eve mock featured a .02 success rate. -
With the draft approaching I have one question.
MHS831 replied to Catsfan69's topic in Carolina Panthers
It will be on, but they will still be talking about the Dolphins pick at #6, then they will tell a story and interview a former coach, then they will say, "Oh, look who is on the clock at #14..." -
Some people just have a feel for perfect timing.

Would the Panthers sign Lamar Jackson if the Ravens dump him?
MHS831 replied to SizzleBuzz's topic in Carolina Panthers
Anyone reading the NY Post is dumb as one. Why is this thread a thing? -
Nice--I have not been considering him seriously.

Why does it matter who wants a QB or not? This is about the draft, the risks, etc. When you say, "There is also the very real possibility that Darnold does not work out..." are you implying that there is also a chance that he does? Are you also implying that there is a chance Fields, Wilson, Lance, and Lawrence do not work out? When you say, "(the odds) are not significantly higher than a rookie..." What is that based on? Your judgement? So you are judging what you think I want by making biased, unsubstantiated statements you cannot support to oppose an assumption. Then you conclude with advice on how we should enjoy this draft. Nice.

Some people just look for something to bitch about (yes, I mean you). 1. I put him in the top category--he was decent to good, and because he was good on 2 Sundays, does not make him great. He was a .500 QB (since you equate wins to QB greatness and his super bowl years he was a combined 19-13 during the regular season.) He beat the same team twice--they had their number. His QBR for his career was 84.1. Sorry that is not great in my mind. So do you think Marino sucks? His overall W-L record was 147-93 and his QBR was higher. Never won a super bowl. Trent Dilfer won a super bowl. He was over .500 as a starting QB for his career and he made a pro bowl. You gonna put him above Marino for winning a super bowl? Is he lalmost as great as Eli? Your reaction is the trash here.

Doesnt David Carr have one (Giants)

1999 Tim Couch Bust 2001 Michael Vick* Got figured out 2002 David Carr Bust 2003 Carson Palmer* Good, not great 2004 Eli Manning* Decent to good 2005 Alex Smith* Up and down-not great by any means 2007 JaMarcus Russell Busted before first game 2009 Matthew Stafford* Solid--bad team every year 2010 Sam Bradford Richest bust in history (IR hall of fame) 2011 Cam Newton* No OL cut 5 years off his career 2012 Andrew Luck* Not sure if he loved football more than life 2015 Jameis Winston* crab legs and jellyfish brain 2016 Jared Goff* Good OL, good D, still struggled 2018 Baker Mayfield Seems to be coming around 2019 2020 Kyler Murray* joe Burrow Seem to be coming around Annually, teams were pumped about these qbs. Since 1999 there were 15 QBs drafted first overall. I see 5 (red) that fall into the "BUST" category (.333) I see 2 (green) that had moments, but hardly stellar careers (.133) I see 3 (purple) that have yet to turn the corner (too new): (.200) I see 5 that had good careers despite their surroundings (.333) and of those successful QBs drafted since 2009, They all have career-shortening injuries and have had multiple surgeries These are all QBs drafted first overall over the past 22 years.

I am banking on the craziness of this draft to win this thing....

Bastid. As soon as we made the bet, I read the article about Horn. Still, you know what they say about people who talk smack before the event---they say, "they probably shouldn't do that cause anything could happen."
-
Seriously---if we make a bad pick, we do not need to know that you are pissed off about it. We can assume that. This is a web site for intelligent discourse, not a teething ring or a punching bag for basement dwellers. If you like the pick and feel the need to tell someone else they were wrong--understand that most people are wrong--it does not confirm that you are smart any more than that illuminated, framed, GED above your fake mobile home fireplace does. If you want to comment, there will be a thread for each pick--no need creating one. If you decide to create a threat like "Fitterer is an idiot" then bring evidence such as his health records, IQ scores, Emotional Intelligence survey scores, etc. If not, provide a screen shot of you psychiatric license. If not, go out for a run instead.

Don't know, but the blind side is different.

fwiw Miami Newspaper poll: They have a chance to get one of the top WRs in some time (Chase) or Waddle. They can get a T later.

What Are the Chances of Sewell Actually Dropping to us?
MHS831 replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
Possible, but we need 4 things to happen that are probably not the odds on favorite--not all of them, at least: Atlanta takes Pitts over Sewell--possible. Cincy takes Chase over Sewell--somewhat possible Then two trades, and I see those trades being possible. -
What Are the Chances of Sewell Actually Dropping to us?
MHS831 replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
This. Atlanta is the key. Estimated Draft chaos to begin at roughly 9PM EST. Thursday, April 29 2021. My opinion: Atlanta takes Sewell, Pitts, or Lance in a long shot prediction. Yet I find it a bit odd that Julio is on the block. Chase if Julio is traded? -
bet samuel goes top 45--some like him
