Everyone is focusing on NE, but watch the WFT---they are going to get antsy-Rivera knows he is NOTHING without a stud QB, and Fields is as close as you get to Cam Newton. I see a few firsts and seconds.
-
Dont look for it, but if you find it, please share. I think he is getting a bad rap on here, and it could change our thinking (if that is what you call it) about the draft.
-
If you think about it, Bill B needed a QB and signed Cam. He still needs a QB. He played Darnold 6 times over the past 3 years at least, and he did not go after him when he became available. Of course, I think BB is way overrated and rather stupid as a game coach because he has always had the GOAT, and maybe NYJ did not want to trade in the division, but it gives me pause... pause, not paws.
-
youd get that, imo

That is a good point. Mac Jones would be our guy!!

That one was free.

Got me, I have not studied his tape-- saw him at G when i watched. Smithers, I would love it---but I am so afraid of ignoring other positions.
-
I will be honest--I want to see what Darnold can do and if Fields is there, I want NE to send me 2 firsts and a second or so to swap. I think we compete in 2021 with a T and CB and maybe a WR---not 2 qbs fighting for one center's ass to grab.
-
It would--or 2 QBs on IR because the only thing Erving can block is a bowel movement.

You have to read those ingredients on the label. There are some chemicals in there that are probably not good for you.

Id be pumped to see Fields and Darnold here--but I would also be pumped to see Sewell or Slater at LT, Surtain at CB, etc. We cant have it all

What exactly was in that Jello Pudding that he raved about so much?
-
But did they write the contract?

I am with you--we made our QB choice, now lets build around him. Sorta reminds me of the time the Cowboys drafted Aikman and gave up another #1 pick in the supplemental draft by drafting Steve Walsh. That did not really pan out. Of course you could say, we gave up a 1st (2021), a second (2022), and fourth (2022) and a sixth (2021) for 2 QBs with starting potential. Now, I have to think if Tepper was behind the Darnold move, he would also be behind the Fields decision. Does that mean Darnold was simply insurance? Here is the rub. You get Darnold, and no matter what these people say about him, he has the tools to be successful. Imagine getting #15, a second and maybe a first in 2022 to move back and take Horn, for example? To me, you do not put all of your resources in one basket and hope for a miracle. You research the player, build around him, and go to war.

supposedly has some hands issues as well

can you imagine what this does to the lower back?

I have been banned from from some sites. If you get those infrared glasses, you can see it all.

Devil's advocate: (about drafting a CB at 8)--we need a #1 outside CB to take away the alpha WRs in the conference. It makes the entire secondary better. My preference (and I am a lifelong Gamecock fan--Dad caught 35 passes for them the year I was born) is Surtain because he can press and does not bite on double moves. That allows the safety to cheat toward the #2. I have said that before, and if true, a #1 CB with that skill set is very valuable if you consider that we were 31st in the league in getting off the field on 3rd downs. Yes, we need to protect the blind side---but we also need to be assessing player impact as much as player vs player. If we move back and get Surtain or Horn, and then grab a LT in round 2---elation and joy. iF we stay put and take a Sewell or Slater, we get a #2 CB or nickel in round 2.

They could not afford you. Besides, he makes a great cup of coffee.

I know people who have worked with Persons. He is a joke. I wonder if he even has a press pass.
