I like the leader, but the player is nothing outstanding, in my view. I seen him chasing a lot. He makes a lot of tackles, I suppose, but we are so spoiled with Beason, Mills, Morgan, and Luke---I just do not see that kind of LB--a guy who is in the hole with the back and stuffing the run. I see a guy who is great from sideline to sideline, but not a stuffer. Someone set me straight, because I want to like him.

You can go back and forth all you want about QBs and pretend to know whether he will be good or not. QBs are creatures of their environment, and until the environment is set, you just don't know. Levis had a bad OL at KY and his skill players were not good, but we are going to compare him to QBs from Ohio State and Alabama. Its a crap shoot.

Of course, gas station sushi is a close second.

And throughout history--there have been teams to win the super bowl with mediocre qbs--Jim Plunkett, Hostetler, Brad Johnson, trent dilfer, doug williams, etc. So it can be done, but all other pieces were in place. In the era now where QBs are costing 25% of the cap, it could change the way GMs build rosters. I mean, Denver and Cleveland fans have to be very nervous right now.

and he was slow at 24 when he came out of college. (ran a 4.67 or something). Wonder what he is running now, without his cane?

If only the Cards had beaten TB in overtime and DJ had kept his helmet on.

And we have a measuring stick---we lost our #2 WR and our all pro RB---We added a few pieces to the OL. We have zilch at TE. Darnold is playing better because the running game is better. A game manager may be all we have moving forward, but a game manager really needs a solid TE. I mean, don't draft a Levis or Richardson in round 1, giving them 3-4 years to bust. I think a solid Defense, strong OL, and a top notch TE is better. The QB I tend to like (considering the draft position I think he will be available) is Tune from Houston. To me, I do not see much of a gap between him and Levis or Richardson. Richardson is a poor man's Cam Newton, slightly smaller and a bit faster. But completing 50% of your passes when defenses are shadowing the QB and containing him in the pocket? Not impressive. We simply win too many games to get a top QB and we lose too many games to be a serious contender. We strive for mediocrity.

Baker sure looks better now--was McAdoo working with him? Darnold is throwing pretty safe passes, he has a lead, and he is playing with house money at this point. The pressure to win is minimal at this point==so I dunno. When he puts the team on his back and brings them back in the fourth quarter for a win, I am listening.

I did not play on the new artificial turf, but I can tell you what the old stuff was like. In the warmer months, it was padded a bit--like a touch of memory foam, but when it soaks up rain and that water freezes, it gets brick hard. Tepper just makes stupid decisions. Goff has a valid point, if you ask me. A player's career could be ruined by this stuff.

Can we talk about the elephant in the room

Reminds me of Moose. If people remember, Mushin Muhammad had 2 mediocre seasons before he broke out in year 3 with a 1000 yard season. -
Where might we be if Moore kept his damn helmet on his head? 7-8 with two to play.

It is hard to say--some players have a style of play that makes them injury prone. Many top athletes in the NFL were top athletes in pop warner, high school, college, etc. They did not need to focus as much on mechanics because their athleticism was more than enough to compensate. When matched with equals, however, the need for mechanics is obvious. Am I saying that CMC was not mechanically sound? Horn? No, but I am saying that many injuries occur when a player is in a compromised position that contradicts what most coaches preach as far as mechanics.

Yes indeed. I think one of our second rounders will be TE. They mentioned the need for skill players-- Marshall starting to step up, Smith is good in the slot, Moore is a good #1, and Shenault is a swiss army knife--the OL is pretty solid, and we have a good interior backup/blocking back in Mays. if we could add a TE, a QB, and then maybe a S and LB--good draft. -

Only if you are drunk and it is after last call. -
He is awesome. Nobody giving Corbett enough credit, and BC has been really good at LG. So much better than what we had up the gut last year.

Gardner "Foo" Minshew, MC, and then draft a QB in rounds 2 or 3. Some raw talent in the draft. My choice? Houston's Clayton "Name That" Tune with the second, second pick. I have a plan.
-
Can we all agree that this draft is the one that will define Fetterer's career? I think it could be interesting to draft the BPA in the first round. A top TE and QB in round 2. I think Hendon Hooker's value is beaten down (age, late season injury) and he could be picked up on day 2. However, there is a guy I might draft with the third rounder (if available) and I think he might be: However, this guy is a gunslinger who threw for 40 TDs (10 ints) against relatively weak competition. However, I think he could become an NFL starter in time. Name that Tune: (Yes, I think that is a bandana around his neck, so buyer beware)

Watching Zach Wilson play reminds me EXACTLY of Corral

Seriously, I like to watch when an OP makes a bold statement and then defends his opinion for 3-4 pages. I have been there too. -

If someone who fits a comparison is short, you say he "plays bigger." Well hell, Mr. Mathematics if that is your real name, anyone can win that argument if you avoid scientific data. -

Our pick is going to be Will Levis or Anthony Richardson. We will sign a veteran as well (me hopey it is Minshew).
