  1. Name the depth on a previous offensive line that was better. Not the starters--just to help you out. Zavala, Christensen, Nijman--so instead of just blasting insults, blast facts.
  2. I know--the new system must be something he understands. Having 3 different offenses your rookie season must have been difficult. He has had time to let it sink in and is not pressured to start. We shall see how long it lasts, but defenses attacked us up the middle last year because our best and only legitimate lineman were at T---they did Ickey no favors, by the way. Rarely got TE help and we were without FB.
  3. Yep. With Nijman (?) coming back soon and BC as a reserve---the depth of our OL has never been better--Depending on how Ikwonu plays, it has the potential to be a great OL. The guards in preseason (anderson, #67, and #71 (name?) played well too--so we should have depth on the PS. I am guessing that we keep Zavala, Raym, BC, and Nijman as the reserves behind the starting 5--giving us 9 on the active roster.
  4. I can say that, after today, I would not be surprised to see us grab a CB by Wed. Surprise? If Brooks were ready, I would say Sanders--but it makes no sense to let him go because Dumbass signed him to a big guaranteed contract. #71 at RG. Mays cut.
  5. Of course, and this is along with Frank's points--this was one drive vs. reserves. Can we get this for a whole game? a whole season? Hope is a powerful emotion--and we have been so thirsty for it--we will take this for what it is and what it might mean.
  6. Yes--part of it is probably the mental clock (2.7 seconds). He seemed to have a sense of urgency more than panic. The more he learns the offense and the WRs, the better he is going to be.
  7. My sons and I met him a few times--he was always a penile projection in my opinion. Now, he'd sign things for kids, but while he was signing my son's 89 jersey, he was insulting to him because my son could not understand what he said to him--so he got an attitude. (He asked my son, "What's your name?" so he could write it on the Jersey--my son, about 8 at the time, was confused because he thought Smith would be signing HIS name--a valid assumption. When he didn't respond immediately, Smith loudly responded, "Do you want the jersey signed or not!") (I was standing back about 30 feet, watching) He signed it, but I told Smith that he was nice to sign the jersey but he was confused because I told him that you would be signing your name--not his, which is what he probably thought. I thanked him, but he just looked at me as if my son was stupid and mumbled something under his breath. I then added, "You screwed it up for him by being a dick about it." He gave me a look (like 'who are you?') and walked away.
  8. If they are shopping Marshall, they will probably cut him if they get no offers. Zay Jones was suspended for 5 games, and the Cards could be interested. Let's not forget the Bills--they are not loaded at WR and they had a front row seat today. Curtis Samuel is their #3--so they could work something out. I might also think the Chargers or the Broncos. The Patriots are not good at WR and Marshall would probably upgrade the WR room.-and I think they might take Coker if he is waived--Holy Cross is right outside Boston-they probably know him--I dunno. I just like the kid and want to keep him.
  9. we are basing our guesses on what we see during a few scrimmage games. These decisions are going to be made by looking at film, practices, and how well the learn and interact with teammates (their dispositions). What skills do they have that others don't have? Marshall is your slant guy, Smith-Marsette is the special teamer who can break one as a WR, Coker is the (by rep) red zone threat and he is a good route runner...Moore is 29 and if there is a younger guy who can do what he does, I see them keeping the young guy since they are building for the future--but if Canales likes you...
  10. A mini shocker will be a TE---Matthews is 32, however, and that hurts him.
  11. I was checking to see if this thread existed before I started one. I think we keep 6. I want to post my choices here before reading what the other Huddlers have to say--many just google questions and repeat them as their ideas and many others are experimenting with crystal meth. 1. Johnson 2. Thielen 3. Legette 4. Mingo 5. Marshall Jr 6. Smith-Marsette unless he is injured. He nudges Moore because he is better at special teams and is five years younger than Moore. Moore makes the team if S-M goes to IR. Practice Squad. Coker might get placed on IR to protect him--not sure he makes it to the PS He would then be one of the four protected players. Since it is possible that the team will be without Johnson, Thielen, and Marshall Jr. next season, it is important to keep Coker. He could go to IR if they feel he would be scooped up.
  12. If you get a chance to watch the game again, note that Bryce breaks out of the pocket a split second too soon once and his feet get nervous on another occasion. To be expected. PTSD.
  13. Lazy writing. three may not make the team, and if you only evaluate skill players, you missed some things.
  14. I am going to say something that might be unpopular--Steve Smith Sr. is obnoxious and juvenile at times--I don't get the idea that he has done his homework. I know some of you like him, but he gets on my nerves.
  15. Plummer statue at BOA in the works--
  16. I think Plummer is the top rated QB in the NFL this season.
  17. I hope Corbett was practicing his snaps when that big baby was being born. I was there for both of my son's births--I have never felt more useless in my life. I would say to Corbett--have you ever heard of Zoom? Team first, lover boy.
  18. Plummer went to Louisville. Johnny Unitas went to Louisville. That is not a coincidence. Mind blown!
  19. QB controversy in Charlotte? Plummer the next Brady? Tepper greatest owner ever? I am so confused!!!!
  20. I forgot about him. Yup Not sure we have had a GM that was good at drafting day 2 and 3
  21. I am thinking home field throughout the playoffs. Mark my words==of course, I was just kidding, but it all starts with the OL. When Brooks get ready and the light comes on for XL---we could be good
  22. The two guards Anderson and #71 both look good. How would they look vs. Starters? Does the RB from Monmouth have special teams abilities?
  23. So I write that there does not seem to be a mathematical way Marshall makes the roster, and Smith-Marsette hurts his ankle and Moore lets a TD pass get stripped--as Marshall catches a few slants and scores a TD--Moore was also open on the play action pass that was too late arriving--whenever I stick my neck out....
