  2. Panthers 30 Jets 13 Darnold 22-30 231 yards 3 TDs 1 int.
  3. When Jupiter, Neptune, and Uranus all align with Venus, the Jets will be victorious. The last time that happened? Super Bowl III. The next time that is slated to happen? October 2822. Whew. We dodged a bullet on that one.
  4. I try to be Platonically correct on here; glad someone notices.
  5. I said I would change, but I did not indicate which direction I'd be going to do it. I have been waiting for this day...dominate the foe.
  6. done---hope you like the change. Going by Ked for a while.
  7. Better schedule too. We win 10 games. I am writing this inside a cave right now, so that when archeologists find it in 2000 years, they will say, "This MHS neanderthal was right."
  8. With Darnold, the better the protection, the better the QB. Focus on the front 5 more than the QB and you will improve.
  9. And so the prophecy foretold a Panther victory in a manner that does not exude confidence or help PSL sales.
  10. First game is when you want to play the good teams, not the bad ones. Better chance to get an upset. The Jets are strong on the defensive line. That is about it. I am and always was a Wilson fan, so that scares me. His debut could be special. Sam, in trying to escape the ghosts of the past, has to play the ghosts of his past. Not fair. That is like getting hooked up on a blind date with your ex after she dumped you. Its just wrong.
  11. Y'all, nobody thinks Cam is dumb. Think of Drew Brees and Cam Newton as kids. How did Cam become successful. He has a rocket arm but can out athlete any player on the field. Used his legs and arm and size. Brees did not grow up by running over linebackers. He is great not because he has gifts, but because he was prepared. Instead of being 6-4, he watched film. Instead of running for the first down, he had to be more prepared and anticipate. He had to think more. Does than mean that all black qbs are not thinkers? No more than it means all white qbs are not athletes. But if I can be great without studying the playbook, I am not as motivated to study the playbook. If the only way I am great is to study the playbook, then I will memorize it. All we see are the success stories; we do not see those who failed because they could not make it work their way. This is not racism, it is survival of the fittest. If the Bear does not scare you because you are bigger, stronger, or faster than the bear, you do not worry about protecting yourself against the bear when you camp in the woods. If the bear could rip you to pieces, you do your homework before you camp and you either decide not to camp or figure out ways to outsmart the bear.
  12. Personally, I think we will be better on the OL than people think. I am really liking the Michael Jordan acquisition and think Brady C will be starting at LG by mid season or earlier. I hope we try Jordan at C and move Brown up to get some reps this season before Miller's contract expires. Then draft a LT in round 1 and forget QB--protect the one you have. With the cap, it is hard to hide a bad player or two. We tried it at TE, and to some degree, we are now. DT? nope. DE? Nope. LB (not a winning formula)--so it makes sense that the OL would be the red-headed step child (sorry gingers, I do not agree) and not get love.
  13. THe OL needs to find its groove. They are not very choreographed right now. We will add a player or two throughout the season, but it should improve as we go.
  14. I forgot Garropolo in 2019. They traded for him in 2017 and he won 5 straight. Then he was hurt in 2018 and they went 4-12. In 2019, they went 13-3. Again--not a star QB that cost 3 firsts and 2 seconds--a backup off another team's roster did it.
  15. Do not get the Norman love now--he is 34 (I think) and was a 4.6-4.7 CB coming out of college. What does he have left?
  16. Of course we did. Our defense is good now. You act as if this does not happen and that there are conditions--the conditions you describe apply to us. In 2013, the Chiefs went 11-5 with new QB Alex Smith after going 2-14 the year before. In 2008 the Dolphins finished 11-5 after nearly going 0-16 the year before--an OT win in week 15 saved them from that fate--and they brought in Chad Pennington. Alex Smith and Chad Pennington were no better than Sam Darnold before going to their new teams and turning it around.
  17. I know, but 2014-2015 was not that long ago. We went from below .500 to 15-1...
  18. The first 2 teams we play have good DLines. I think, however, that they are going to give the vets a shot first, meanwhile, all the experience (even if from the sideline) you can give the rookies, you try to give it to them. Some of you think starting third round OL is the solution. That shortens the rookie season, making the "wall" less daunting. Give them 10 games to play, not 17, and the chance for success is greater. The Elflein contract was a head scratcher, but they were hoping his athleticism would help. As for ignoring the OL, if they paid attention to the OL, would you be willing to hand over Marshall? He was about the 57th pick and we could have grabbed a serviceable rookie in round 2--not great--but serviceable. It is probably our best bet to pray that Erving holds up at LT to some degree (w/ TE help) and that Christensen, Jordan, and maybe Brown develop quickly.
  19. He is a Patriot. Was a Patriot. Not a Panther any longer. Time to not care. I want Cam to do well in the next phase of his life, but I am a Panther fan, not any one player is more important than that. And when a player goes to another team, he becomes part of the enemy--nothing more. Sorry if that hurts some feelings. Cam was a great guy here, and that is all I care about. Did he know New England's playbook? I am not going to defend him or attack him, because I do not know enough about it. Here is what we know: Cam was a great athlete and we did not see him screwing up here, but the playbook was modified to his college game and skill set. Brady and New England had 20 years to develop a very complex playbook. Did they expect Cam to adopt that in a season? I dunno.
  20. He is going to be a good NFL QB
