  1. https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/gm-report/kenny-robinson-has-turned-into-a-legitimate-safety Basically, this article give KR legitimacy as an NFL safety. Comments from Snow, Rhule. Note the indecision about Chinn, Robinson, etc. Time to find a spot for these guys and let them learn it. Reminds me of the Christensen confusion. Still do not know what position a player is being groomed to play. (Why they value "versatility", I suppose).
  2. Fans don't buy tickets because the locker room is not toxic. Rhule is a good salesman, and he has convinced the locker room that it is "us against the world." Rhule is chummy with his top players, and they like him. So what? This is a billion dollar organization, and most billion dollar organizations are not left to the 25-year olds in the company to make decisions. The bottom line: If the fans are not happy, they should not be happy.
  3. Thanks for taking the time to interact with us--I think the QB issue will be addressed in some way---they will do nothing until free agency's tea leaves can be read, then they will turn to the draft if they cannot draft a QB. If they don't sign a veteran QB (which seems unlikely, save Mariota or Trubiski), they have to take the rookie. That suggests that free agency becomes an OL shopping spree. If that is the case, I see a Pickett--and wonder if any other is worth a first round selection. Thanks again.
  4. that would be a heck of a trade. I think Burns is likely to attract some big spenders, while CMC will attract some bargain hunters.
  5. I am not sure Rhule wants to bring in people who are not proven to be loyal--loyalty is the priority of the inept leader--and anyone who challenges that authority is sacrificed. I think Brady probably did that (internally) which might explain the timing of his firing--in bye-week meetings, Brady crossed a bridge that has a paranoid troll running it.
  6. Mariota and Trubiski are free agents, which means they would cost us nothing in terms of draft capital or players in a trade. I still think we will pursue Watson, and we could go after Garappalo--but both will cost a lot. On the other hand, we could refrain from re-signing expensive veteran CBs, roll with CJ, Horn, Taylor, etc. and sign linemen. Trade back (if we can) in the draft and add a second rounder. Draft a LT (that kid from NC State is my favorite LT candidate right now because he is a manchild and has so much upside) and maybe a QB.
  7. I see your point, but Gilmore is 32 or so and will be done by the time we get good, and DJax has spent more time on IR than on the active roster. Agree with you about the staff--but there is going to be an overhaul when we get a new coach in here--so I don't know. I would trade Burns and CMC right now--but not to give Rhule leverage in the draft.
  8. And about QB---if you do not have a QB, you are developing one. You don't just ignore the position for a season with the hope of drafting one. We will make a move for a QB of some sort--beyond bringing Cam back to play wildcat QB
  9. How many games have DJax and Gilmore played over the past few years? Can we roll out with Henderson, Horn, Taylor and save that $$$ if we are rebuilding anyway? Yes. With Thomas Oliver and Pride behind them, we could get by for a season with all first-contract CBs. If you consider Hartsfield as the Nickel, I think Bouye, Gilmore, and Jax--all wounded warriors--are expensive to keep. ( I had not read CRA's post before this--same basic page)
  10. Ekwonu will go higher than most think--I am guessing top 10-15.
  11. And the trade back is not #6 for #45 and #74--for example---it is a #6 for #13 and #45. Move back from #13 to #18 after that and it would require #74. That is what the trade chart suggests
  12. I think that the interior line is where most of the bleeding is occurring--I see Linderbaum if we trade back. I also like Smith (G, Va Tech) in this draft--both could start. I think Ruckert is a hidden gem because he was not targeted often in that OSU offense with those three stud WRs...Nelson that late as T depth to challenge Christensen is a nice pick. He was ranked as a potential first rounder early in the season; not sure what happened.
  13. He has stated that he would do it--and he entertained a trade offer last year. Not sure that the fact that he didn't get a good offer justifies a statement that infers he will not trade back in the first round---I think he does move back this year and would probably bet on it.
  14. Probably not, most are not. But you have seen a few games and he was decent--while it takes rookies a while to develop. Pretty premature assessment, if you ask me. We tend to throw away players if they do not make that big splash. A third rounder who has been practicing at G is moved to LT and does fairly well. You are ready to move on after what, three/four games? Our glaring weakness is the IOL. Do you think BC is a G? If so, what is that decision based on? Not challenging your opinion (even though this was not stated as such), but I want to know what you have heard/see that impacts your opinions. In my mind, there is reason to be cautiously optimistic about BC at T.
  15. I wonder what the reaction would be if the Panthers brought Rex in for an interview---I never really took him seriously as a coach, but when I hear him speak, I am usually enlightened.
  16. Yes, we need an OL. Does that mean the only place to find OL help is the draft? Yes, we need a QB. Unless we give away our first rounders for 3 years, we are not going to get a good one in free agency--which means the draft--one way or another--is going to produce our next QB. If I thought the OL was Darnold's only major problem, I would be all in on going OL and sitting still at QB. But he can't read defenses--he holds the ball too long---and he is quick to turn his attention from the checkdowns to the DL rushing him. We get blitzed a lot up the gut because the league knows Darnold will be distracted by them. That is why our Guards rate so low--they are being tested the entire game.
  17. Are you telling me that Fitterer did not trade back last year?
  18. I could see him trying to trade this year's first and the 2023 and 2024 first rounders for Watson, address the OL in free agency, and we basically draft on day 3 this April. I hope not--but I would not be surprised
