  1. I was speculating as to what they were thinking based on a few crumbs of evidence--not endorsing their moves. I hated the signings because it was Fits' first day in free agency and he signs 2 busts. But I see your point. Taking them at face value when they try to sugar coat dogshit is not wise.
  2. What the hell are you talking about? Speculation is not "gobbling this stuff up." It tells me that they do not have anyone who can evaluate OL talent and they tried to wing it-they really thought Erving and Elflein would be solid starters, based on the timing and salaries.
  3. I heard Rhule describe the kind of OL he needs for the Wide Zone Blocking scheme. On paper, Elf and Erv fit the profile. On the field, they sucked. Maybe that is it? Good question.
  4. I heard Sabin after the game, talking to Smart--and he was sincere and humble and it was genuine. I think he told Smart, "God Bless you." He was smiling and almost happy that his understudy was feeling what he has felt 7 times. I have new respect for Sabin. Class Act. (And I am a Gamecock fan, so I have no dog in the fight. Too soon?)
  5. I think we will have to sign some decent linemen since we don't have a second or third round pick. I honestly believe that when Rhule and Fitterer used the term "invest" referring to allocating resources to the OL, that is what they mean. It also suggests that a Hedge Fund Manager is telling them to do it.
  6. Taylor better than Henderson (CB)? Did not see it that way.
  7. Christensen (played 4 positions) has a respectable score for a rookie. I see something in him--not greatness, just decency.
  8. If you were giving up on the Panthers for 2022, why would you go to a Panther discussion board in 2022 to announce it? Is this some Resolution or something? Why not pick something worthwhile like giving up drama or pleas for attention?
  9. I would say go after the best center in free agency--I think they are looking to Brown to take the Miller spot at RG. With BC as a developing LT, we could be closer than we think. If we plan to start BC and DBrown, I would focus on some free agent veterans or we could have another disaster. Erv and Elf need to go.
  10. BC needs to work on his lower body over the offseason and anchor better vs. bull rushers. However, finesse rushers are not that successful against him.
  11. I watched the Fitterer presser because he is more committed to the truth--reality. I heard him mention "both lines" many times, and when asked about re-signing veterans like DJax or Reddick, he referenced the need to focus on the lines while endorsing re-signing both. He defended Brady C's role as a LT, and he mentioned that Brown played well at RG---I have to think they are going to bring in a Center. If we draft (doubtful one is found in free agency) a LT, then BC moves to LG--but they are penciling him in as a starter. So look for a big center signing in free agency. That is step 1. Then if they sign a starting caliber Guard, it could be that the plan is to develop BC as the LT---I really heard his success at LT radiating through both Rhule and Fitterer. Signing OL would not be as expensive as signing a free agent QB. I think we will draft a QB IF we can address the OL and DT needs in free agency. Let's hope we take it more seriously than we did this year when we signed Elf and Erv.
  12. The more I find about Pep, the more I like it.
  13. I see your point and it could work. As a young QB, I am not sure I would want the franchise's best QB dressed out, on the sideline, waiting to get inserted. I do, however, like the concept.
  14. Rhule does have the ability to unite. I have never seen the Huddle in total agreement about any topic as we are right now.
  15. Many of you are trashing the "run first" approach to offense. Tennessee has a bye this week.
  16. I don't know enough about him, but I trust your assessments. Mills' progress has been a really interesting story this year.
  17. I appreciate what Cam has done for this franchise--a signed #1 jersey hangs proudly in my man cave, but Cam would be an expensive distraction. Not his fault, but if he is on the roster, every time the QB throws a pick the huggers would start banging their drums. When Sam Darnold replaced Cam and there were boos at home--even though Cam has not won a game for the panthers in his past 12 or so starts--that is what I mean as a distraction. I think it is best that we, as a franchise and fan base, turns the page. So this idea has merit on one level, but in reality, I question its practical applicability.
  18. Davis Mills' success may have a lot to do with this.
  19. Not kidding: A "no coast" offense. The article called him a mutt, basically referring to a hybrid offense. He had Luck with no OL in Indy 5-6 years ago and they were decent. Luck is now retired, however.
  20. I think they feel we are 3 OL, a TE, and 1 QB away from relevance. They could be right--but 5 missing pieces is a big percentage of the offense.
