who played their last game for the panthers today?
MHS831 replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Breeg is a troll--just block him and move on. Damn you McDonalds for giving out free internet!! -
Repeat yourself. You sound just as dumb. Anyone can cherry pick stats. I sense that I am engaged with a middle schooler who just got his first computer for Christmas. Please do not respond because you think your opinions are right and people with much more experience and knowledge than you are wrong. You obviously feel the need to be right at all costs and ignore other points of view. I don't have time for dickheads-I simply want to see what others have to say. I have heard you--now just shut up.

This is the key. WIthout endzone game tape, it is really hard to see if the majority of the blame goes to QB, OL, or WR. I think the answer is "all of them" but I would like to know to what degree? If the WRs and OL are sucking, the QB play inevitably sucks. If the QB and OL play sucks, the WRs will suck---Lotta work to do, imo, because I had no confidence in Bryce because he had the ball--but if the focus was on the others, would a different concern be exposed? I think so--just like to know how much etc.

Arrogant and misleading. Dangerous combination. I really think your ability to muster courage behind a fake name on a discussion board has overwhelmed your circuitry. Regardless, I do not pretend to be smarter than others by referring to anyone who disagrees with me as having a thick skull. The fact is, you are being intentionally misleading--sacks are a QB stat but not one they often use to evaluate QBs--completion percentage, interception rate, YPA, etc are usually the standard--Sacks, however, are a key OL measure, and you seem to disregard that obvious point because it is not consistent with your theory--something you choose to ignore so you can pout and rant and make people think you know what you are talking about. I gave you facts and stats--offensive line statistics related to sacks---and you give me an answer that ignores these facts and stats and you repeat yourself. Silly person. The worst left side of the OL (T, G, C) in the NFL. based on SACKS and you say they were not bad. Not arguing with someone who skips over facts and statistics. If you want to challenge my points, find some Offensive linemen stats that do not include sacks allowed. Post the link here. If you can't, STFU.

You may be right, but I worked for a narcissist recently, and eventually, they all turn on those closest to them because their primary role is to inflate the leader's ego and then be blamed for the failures that are caused by the fact that nobody is telling the Emporer that he is wrong--so they must be wrong--it is a catch 22.. Black Monday will be a demonstration of Tepper's ire--we did not score a point in 2 games. "Off with their heads!" Fitterer and the entire offensive staff will be let go.
-
Personally, I am worried about Bryce because we saw very little to inspire hope. Very few, if any, NFL QBs would have succeeded here under these conditions. Fitterer is the central problem--Bryce's play is a symptom of Fitterer (and Tepper's) involvement. All I am saying is they will look at him next season with a better supporting cast. I am not expecting a miracle, but I am a realist. To improve, you must identify the problem. Imagine if we spent bank on Russell Wilson or Watson? Brock Purdy would probably suck ass here. Young would probably not suck ass in SF. You gotta have the pieces in place, especially if you draft an undersized, weak armed QB. The front office failed miserably in this regard, but we fixed the problem when our owner tossed his beverage on a fan in Jax. Now we are good to go.

Our OL is not truly horrible?--I beg to differ. Are you saying that sacks are not on the OL or the WRs? Our LT (and they kept stats on this) had 11 sacks this season, 3rd worst. He also was third worst in penalties. Our LG was a revolving door, but Zavala, in limited snaps, surrendered 6 sacks (6th worse in the NFL). Bradley Bozeman gave up 10 sacks (1st among NFL centers). Cade Mays surrendered 3 sacks in limited play. In contrast, Taylor Moton surrendered 1 sack all season. The left side of the OL featured the #1, #3, and #6 (respectively) worst in the category of sacks (an OL stat too, for a reason)-- I am not including the reserves like Nash Jensen or Gabe Jackson. This OL was truly horrible. 40% of the starters were on IR most of the time and when they played, they gave up a lot. I am not even going to get into the fact that multiple announcers commented on how there were no open WRs. Considering the Panthers had the 8th most penalties in the NFL and most sacks, is it possible that Bryce was holding the ball too long trying to make a play? What does he do? Throw it into coverage? Out of bounds? Run it? He did all those things.

D Brown must be given bank. Moton's deal will count $30m vs the cap and he is 30 years old. I would consider restructuring him, getting it down to about $15m over the next 5 years. Burns? If he wants what 15-16 sacks a year are getting, he will be disappointed here. I would pay him about $25m per season based on his potential/production. He is very young. Maybe some team that has 1 or 2 glaring needs will pay him, but we cannot. He will be missed, however

Sacked 62 times this season--roughly 4 per game. With 509 passing attempts, that is 1 sack per about 8 attempts. If you consider how often he was forced into a throwaway or bad pass, then it is difficult to imagine how any QB could succeed in this environment. His WRs were rarely open and for most of the season, he had 40% of his OL on IR. His TEs were not much help. Furthermore, the Panthers were the 8th most penalized team in the NFL; The Panthers were undisciplined and made many unforced errors, especially the OL. What about his weaponry? Chark dropped 4 passes on 66 targets. (To put that into perspective, last season Justin Jefferson, often the focus of the defense, dropped 5 passes on 184 targets). Adam Theilen was targeted 137 times and had 6 drops. Mingo had 85 targets and five drops. TMJ was targeted 33 times and had 2 drops. Remember, they are not getting open, but when they do, they drop the ball much too often. Defenses could stunt and blitz all they wanted. The running game did not set up the passing game--the Panthers were predictable. They could not run the ball behind Jensen, Jackson, Mays--so they ran the ball wider with more success. Once that was shut down, the teams could blitz A gaps or they could drop 8 in a wide zone, taking away the flats. Since DTs could penetrate through Jensen/Mays/Jackson, throwing drag routes was difficult, which would have been the solution under normal circumstances. My point? I am skeptical and afraid, but I will be damned if I am going to give up on Bryce when he was given this mess. Tom Brady in his prime would have struggled here. Not an exaggeration. On TV, you see the QB, the hesitation, and the panic. They said the same things about Tua in Miami, if you remember. Too early to tell, but I bet you $100 if Bryce went to a team like SF, Seattle, or even Denver, he would be successful.

If you watch the OL carefully, we were running wide because our Guards SUCKED. Pass protection broke down through A and B gap most of the time. Chark is not a good route runner. I keep Smith-Marsette, Mingo, Theilen (slot) and I let the rest walk. TEs? I make Tremble my #1, let the rest go. Ricci was good as a receiving TE, so I may keep him as the #3 or #4 TE. I might consider moving BC to LT and Ickey to LG--but I think I would let them compete for the job in camp. I bring in a stud RG. Moton's deal has to be reworked. I would draft a top WR and I would sign good route runners who can catch the ball. Let's face it, they are not giving up on Bryce in 1 year. Give him time and some open WRs and TEs, he is fine. Vilma said something brilliant--they are predictable. The run does not set up the pass (based on formation). Bryce had no chance of being successful, and he wasn't successful, some of you with keen knowledge of the NFL QB position have been very kind enough to repeatedly point that out. Let's see what happens--you might be right, but I have always said the QB should be the last thing you put in place. -

Derrick Brown will get a big deal; I am not sure Burns will be happy if we pay him what he is worth. Nice to see Horn show up when it does not matter to demonstrate how good he can be. -

I think there are females who would do a good job if given the opportunity to gain front-office experience--gender has nothing to do with it, so if you are putting words in my mouth, you misunderstood. My point was the Tepper's involvement in personnel decisions that have been shared on social media. Not sure what you mean. -
Step back and analyze this objectively--put yourself in Tepper's situation. 1. You are a multi-billionaire. You think you are smarter than everyone else as a result. You get your way. You have everything you want. What would that do you YOUR ego? 2. You buy the Panthers, an NFL franchise. You like football. You hire people who share your views, and the tell you what you want to hear. You are new and want to be involved, so you talk to the coaches, scouts, GM, etc. They probably second guess themselves because Tepper thinks he is smarter than them in the area of common sense, negotiation, etc. The GM does what you want, because like a mafia boss, you let them know what you want. 3. It backfires on you you become a national laughing stock. Your team is the worst in the league. People mock you in public. You begin reacting to this feeling that you are being laughed at, mocked. You shout "Fxxx" the day before firing your coach and you toss beverage and those who you think are taunting you. 4. You release the news that you are hiring a search committee. "See world? I am not making all the decisions!" Maybe nothing, but all teams have search committees if done correctly--people who know the team, needs, and the NFL. I think Tepper wanted the glory of winning a championship and he wanted to feed is ego by taking the reins at times. Now he is trying to avoid being hated, laughed at, and humiliated in public. Not sure how he will react, but I think he knows to keep his spoon out of the chef's broth. And hire people who will tell you "no".

MHS831 replied to BlackPanther22's topic in Carolina Panthers
Folks, NFL teams lie to the media all the time. Why does this need to be announced now? Well, Tepper just made an ass out of himself in Jacksonville and is WIDELY being ridiculed by everyone for meddling and being a dysfunctional, trigger-happy owner. This gives the perception of an independent committee that will recommend the decision. Here is what else they need to do-- 1. Announce that you are not going to pro days in March. 2. Keep all wives and non-expert personnel from hugging free agent candidates or potential draft picks. 3. Take up stamp collecting. -
It was a White Russian, which makes it a racist act of terrorism too. (kidding--I heard it was water--not confirmed)
-
You are a public figure. You are an owner in an entertainment industry. You are 65. You were the only one to assault anyone else. That is all that matters--Tepper has immediate access to security. This was not a back alley mugging. It was an spoiled rich kid having a tantrum and he decided to assault fans from another team. Rest is fluff.

Fitterer was standing right there. toxic organizations confuse loyalty to the leader with effectiveness.

Bryce was allegedly yelled at by Bozeman...
MHS831 replied to BenjaminBreeg's topic in Carolina Panthers
centers and QBs too. Bozeman, to the best of my knowledge, calls the blocking scheme. There were times when Bryce audibled out of a play late in the play clock and it blew up in his face. Bryce needs to wake up. He has had everyone telling him how great he is until about September, 2023. -
BB is one of the most overrated people in professional sports. Full Stop. And to get a guy with a storied past and one foot in retirement, I think that would be a Seifert move.
-
Nicole does not count against the cap. (I know you were kidding) Moton is due $30m next year, Burns wants to get paid, and Brown needs to be locked up long term. Unfortunately, that does not help us get better because we have all those players now and without major upgrades elsewhere, we win 2 games in 2024.

This is also what is wrong with society. Rich people can hire the best attorneys, post bail, etc. Poor people stay in jail, lose their jobs, and are poorly defended. Their speeding ticket is $150, and my speeding ticket is $150. I have seen people get a ticket and their insurance went up, so they could not buy their kids winter jackets (I used to be a school administrator). And those rich people pay less tax, and the politicians they pay to make themselves richer want to dip into to your social security. And half of you will vote for that because you are gaslighted to think the issues are abortion, second amendment, and border security--where was I? The rich don't know what fair is--but they know they have to manipulate the poor and middle class to stay that way--this fine is how rich people think--they know that $300k sounds like a lot to us poor folk, but they giggle that is a slap on the wrist with a feather in actuality.

OK, Mrs. Tepper, recreation time is up. Back to your cell--I mean, assisted living room.
-
Best player on the team. Even if the stats don't show it--watch him chase the play to the whistle. How many DTs are in on tackles on the opposite sideline? Without Brown, our DL would be about as useful as saloon doors.

Maybe this will help. A lot of it has to do with intent, but pushing is assault, for example, even if the recipient of the push is not bruised or hurt in any way. Most people are not bruised by pushing. Throwing a drink in someone's face is a form of assault and here is a similar example. I know a guy who was a teacher leaving a school board meeting and some angry protestors gathered outside. A man threw a pizza crust at the teacher, hitting him in the back. The man filed a complaint, and the pizza tosser was arrested at his home that night. Not sure if it was stuffed crust or deep dish--details were not provided in the police blotter the next day. The intent was to provoke an altercation and humiliate a teacher leaving a school board meeting. By your standards, this is acceptable if it did not cost the teacher a pint of blood or an eye, and that is not the case. This post seems to suggest there is no legal recourse for someone throwing fluids into your face if it does not leave a mark. It is important to understand the difference between assault and battery. Elements of Assault It is noteworthy that someone can be charges with assault without an act of violence. An attempt to injure someone is also considered assault. So Tepper would have to explain why he felt that throwing fluid into someone's face is not an attempt to injure that person (using the legal definition of injury, which could be humiliation or public ridicule). The act was intended to cause apprehension of harmful or offensive contact. (CHECK--it was meant as an offensive gesture to cause apprehension or provoke violence) The act indeed caused reasonable apprehension in the victim that harmful or offensive contact would occur. (CHECK--offensive contact did occur--throwing fluid in someone's face is "offensive contact." any reasonable person might feel threatened. Note there is still no mention of contusions or broken bones) There was an imminent physical gesture signifying a threat. (CHECK. throwing anything at anyone is a threatening, physical gesture) Battery The actual violent act, as you pictured, is battery, most likely, assault and battery, which means the intent and acts to cause violence and the violent act itself. Assault is the intent to harm or injure regardless of the degree of violence or successful execution of that act--and the violence itself is battery. So when you show pictures of assault and battery you are not accurately depicting simple assault with no battery. It is confusing, but if you angrily throw fluid in someone's face--even if you miss the target---it is assault because the intent was to physically (not verbally or emotionally) injure (harm, ridicule, defame, humiliate) another person.
