  1. I was hell bent on making the same statement--good thing I scan the thread before I dive in.
  2. Yeah--second round value at G, third rounder at T. Shut up Rhule--moron.
  3. I think the thought of sitting on their hands during day 2 will cause them to leave Neal or Cross on the board, trade back, and grab a lesser OL like Penning. Then they might trade up for Howell---if the QBs fall, and I think they will---we could be looking at something like that. It bothers me because both could bust. We have never had good luck with small school OL here, and if Howell busts, there goes what could be a decade of LT bliss.
  4. You guys are brutal. Leave Zod and his rod alone.
  5. Just hope he does not throw a challenge flag after the coin toss.
  6. Before you all start, I was born in Columbia when my father was playing football for the Gamecocks and I played for Western Carolina---I am not a UNC homer, but full disclosure, Howell attended the same high school my sister attended. Not enough to make me a Howell fan. Now--Howell is a good football player. The fact is, I do not know he will go to the right situation or be good, and you don't either. In the right situation, he could be effective. So stop acting like you know something the experts do not agree on. It should be embarrassing to have such misplaced, fabricated omnipotence. Full disclosure: I thought Brady Quinn would be a good QB--better than Jamarcus Russell. I was even (back in the day) torn between Leaf and Manning. More recently, I thought Cam would bust and I thought Herbert would have been tragic. I thought Darnold could turn it around here--but there is this: I was at a Panther preseason game in 2000 or so and this #12 came in for Drew Bledsoe in the second quarter. I told my friends, "Guys, #12 is better than Bledsoe." They laughed at me--for months afterwards. Now when I bring it up, they can't recall.
  7. Tepper has to know he gets no consideration for a new stadium if he does not listen to the fans and his sacred coach can't win
  8. I would take 15, the second rounder, and then first next year. I want to have some draft capital to move up next year if needed.
  9. Baker is too inconsistent and a head case. JG is consistently mediocre but a company man.
  10. Drafting Pickett scares me---I have grown to see him as a bust waiting to happen--a big ole bust bow on his head and a "buyer beware" tag around his neck. He can't handle pressure---his hands lead to fumbles. He is the old maid in this card game.
  11. I think they would have to trade up with a KC in the first round (for example) to get Howell. I think Howell (if things go like I think they might) could be the steal of the draft at QB--he is smart, mobile, tough, and throws a good ball. Devalued due to UNC suckage at skill positions.
  12. Not sure--heard they were interested--CB makes sense-
  13. The average NFL career is about 3 years--so a 5 year plan makes sense.
  14. I am not sure that BC has the dominant run blocking ability to play G....but it is hard to tell when you are playing different positions. Confusion slows you up and makes you less aggressive.
  15. Heck, most of the top 5 QBs are second rounders at best--but I like the kid from Brown University--at best a career backup.
  16. Watching him being interviewed--he is a dick. Left a bad impression (and I know the counter argument--that does not matter.) I was talking to a former Indy Colt from days gone by when they acquired Eric Dickerson in a trade. He said they "HATED" Dickerson because he took all the credit when they won, blamed the OL when they lost. They hated him--and it impacted the locker room a bit. For some reason, Dick-erson (ironic) came to mind when I saw the interview.
  17. Right--we don't have day 2 picks, so this makes the first round really interesting. Fitterer likes to wheel and deal-- I think we are going to move back, take a QB simply because we have not made a move to grab a free agent--and Fitterer saw how Seattle built a super bowl winner around Russell Wilson. Fitterer wants to find that QB--and if people are saying, "But these QBs suck!" I would remind people that Russell Wilson was a 3rd rounder.
  18. Yes, I see that. Watching more today--Ian Rappaport suggested that the Ravens (14) and Eagles (15, 18) are potential trading partners. Based on what Fitterer said about trading back into the "teens", I have to think this is a possibility.
  19. Here is what I heard because I read tea leaves. 1. "You have to ask (referring to veteran QBs) why are they still out there?" Vet QB ONLY if we cannot draft one. 2. "Draft is deep at OL" We could be looking at BC to LOT if a QB is there after a trade back. This could be for a G/C. 3. They deliberately did not mention LTs but they did mention QBs (2 being good with---how hard is it to figure out which 2?) This reeked of smokescreen to me.
  20. Pricey! You can't hide money. My shirts come in a 3-pack.
  21. This is the hardest year to mock of any I can remember. But your picks seem aligned with what I am hearing from the smartest, most connected experts. For that, you get a reward:
