Here is something to think about with your brains: We potentially have 3 QBs on the roster this year better than our starter last year. You say to yourself, "But silly man--one of the QBs you mention was our starter. How could this be?" I say to you, "Yes, but he is possibly better this year. He has competition. He has a better OL and OC. He has to be better than last year." "And Corral could quite possibly be the second best QB (right now) on this roster, behind only Baker."

About the WRs--If Marshall steps up, and Robbie gets the ball when he should be getting the ball, I expect the remaining WRs to fill the #4-6 spots nicely. Something that would help our WRs is a stud TE--maybe Tremble steps up

What would it take for you to be a fan of Rhule and Tepper?

I think the chances of Watson starting week 1 are about 0%. The way I understand it, the appeal either eliminates, decreases, or increases the initial decision. The NFL will not eliminate or decrease the decision. The suspension will be 6 games at a minimum, and a year (I am guessing) as a maximum. Secondly, there could still be complaints pending. This is not the publicity you advise your client to endure.

I want Ickey at LT--but right now, BC is more ready. That will change. I just think BC is going to find a spot somehow. Of course, a swing T probably plays a lot of snaps over the course of a year.
-
I think that would happen, but I would play the best LT/LG combination. In other words, if Ickey and BC are equal at LT but Ickey is the better G...
-
Damn haynes, tell me you have more than that

I have been saying this since the draft---BC LT, Ickey LG...Not that it is what I want, but for now, it is what I think they will do.

Good point. Just get a picture, shake a hand, and move on. Hell, half of these autograph hounds are just trying to sell crap on ebay--profiting off someone else's hard work
-
This just in: Corral intercepted his own bomb in the endzone--a hail mary--and ran it back the other way 109 yards for a pic 6.

Do kickers count though?

I just hope they can tackle.

If CJ plays up to his potential, and Horn stays healthy, and then you have Jackson as well---and throw in Hartsfield (DB) and Taylor--I am not sure anybody else has more potential at CB.

Just from reading the posts, it sure seems as if Baker has already pulled ahead of Sam--but Baker seems to be motivated by the competition. Not sure what goes on in Sam's head.
-
I don't think so--I am a professor there, and I had not heard of Jones--but I do not go to the games either.

UNC Pembroke. no chance

My hope is that this is temporary--that when Baker wins the Job, Darnold gets cut or moved to #3

That is like insider trading, and that is a crime on wall st. The difference? If the NFL goes lightly on players betting on their own teams, they risk tarnishing the brand---Watson has tarnished himself, but a ruling that diminishes his crime against women would also tarnish the brand. I think it should be 9 games or more, but I would hope that he would be fined several million dollars and forced into treatment.

And I can see that happening. I am not suggesting that Baker is the answer, but if I look at the players with similar skill sets, I am going with the one with NFL experience until he proves to me that he is not the answer. During that time, I will be preparing Corral like a NASCAR pit crew. I just do not see how Sam would be the option if Baker fails, and I think it would be awkward if not toxic to keep him around. If I am Sam, and I don't earn the starting gig, I want to be cut.

It really isn't about Corral's skill set--he is impressive. Transitioning from college to pros is tough for a QB, and the more prepared he is, the higher his chance for success. He could be ready week 1, but that is highly unlikely. He could be ready week 8, week 12 or in 2023, but putting him under center before he had demonstrated NFL proficiency is dooming him to the fate of countless others before him. Yes, he has a good arm. So did Jamarcus Russell. Some of you compare him to Russell Wilson--Wilson is one of the most cerebral QBs in the NFL--always has been. Is Corral there yet? I have not seen it---yet. His skills are impressive and we are desperate for a messiah.

Folks, finding one example that defied the odds is an outlier, not a basis for a sound argument. If you refuse to mention all of the third rounders that failed but promote the one or two that didn't, that is faulty logic--like buying lottery tickets as a retirement plan.

Started as a freshman vs. Elon--hurt my shoulder. Played the rest of the season, losing snaps/playing time. Went through Spring practice. In the summer, had reconstructive surgery. Since then I have had another surgery and they had to put a pin in it. I now have 70% range of motion and my other shoulder now needs surgery. I also had multiple concussions in high school and once in college. How ever, they're seams to be know lasting effects that eye can sea.
