  1. Ian on NFL network just announced that Dalton signed a 1 year, $10m contract....What? That was a mistake? They had a graphic and everything.
  2. Something is going on with the TEs and WRs---2 top WRs have signed for about $11m per, and neither is a #1. Tomorrow will be big-- I can't get Landry out of my mind. He was injured a lot last year, and his 2021 year in Cleveland was marred by injuries. So is he injury prone, or just ran into some bad luck? This guy has been a five time pro bowler and had about 5 seasons with over 800 yards... He would be cheap. I also want the Panthers to look at JuJu before he returns to KC
  3. Since shaking off the fact that was not Dalton Schultz-this pick has warmed on me--in fact, based on the stats, if we signed him last year, he would have been our best QB.
  4. You could argue that he played behind Winston and Prescott (pocket passers) and he was the bridge when they drafted Fields in Chicago--he was not really a backup there, but an unseated veteran. So I agree--this suggests what kind of QB we are getting--fwiw, Dalton is 6-2.
  5. Andy Dalton and Bryce Young go way back. Found this photo:
  6. Folks Dalton is a damn good backup QB--he has been starting in this league for a while. No issues with this.
  7. Me too--That's Scot for you-- A big tease.
  8. Well, I don't think we are on a first name basis with him, but I was not thinking QB....
  9. I am guessing they did not forget that these QBs will need to have someone to catch it?
  10. Damn you! I thought you were referencing Dalton Schultz. Damn Damn Damn. Seriously? This is a good veteran--does it suggest Young? Hmmmmm.
  11. He might have the biggest ego I have ever experienced since my own blasted out of control after winning the Capt. D's hushpuppy eating contest when I was in high school. I was intolerable for about a month.
  12. I can say this so I will---Young did not throw at the combine and Stroud did--the people who we saw are naturally going to elevate his stock (since he did well) and see Young as injured or weak. I think Bryce Young is the better QB right now---but the size is a factor for me----Most of the experts on NFL Network are talking like it is Young-- I can say that if we choose either, I am happy with that choice because I know they spent over a month researching it. Levis or AR? Not happy. QBs are protected now. Verge, I see the logic here--
  13. when I saw the title of this thread I said, SH!T. Honestly. I really did.
  14. If he is going to succeed in the NFL as a QB, SF is the place to do it---Garrapolo, Purdy,
  15. they did, but at the time it was going to be for a late first rounder-and they were desperate at the time (3-1) and felt they were one player away from a Super Bowl run--I read the packer boards at the time--many did not want to do it, even in those situations. So my point was, in my opinion, that the market value was not a first for him--the market value that the Packer sports writers were giving it at the time was a second and a fourth.
  16. I think Hardman is not that good---I am in the minority--I am guessing either or both of the Giants WRs or Chark.
  17. So Myers got $11m. Pretty reasonable?
  18. I think we sign a WR and a TE today--(WR will be one of the Giants' 2 WRs in free agency--heard it here first) As for DE? I think there are some good, big DEs who will be available with the third rounder in the draft-- RB? I expect Foreman to accept whatever offer he has--RBs are not in demand. Draft: QB, WR, DE
  19. RBs are different animals on the negotiating table. They have a short life span (most peak at 26-27 and start declining after that--when they are negotiating. He had the best year of his career, but he is nothing more than a journeyman. I am sure he wants to get paid, but he is a one-dimensional back who runs hard. A young QB needs an outlet/checkdown, so he is not an ideal fit here. I bet they lowballed the hell out of him--no more than $3m.
  20. exactly. the best free agent TEs cost as much as mediocre WRs--grab the WR in the draft.
  21. I still say that Minshew would be a good QB to have on the roster.
