  1. You called it first but we were both all over it.
  2. Rhule did the same thing when he was hired...Except instead of pulling players from NFL rosters that were recommended by NFL position coaches, he went after NFL players who played for him at Temple or Baylor. Slight difference.
  3. We are seeing the result of hiring well-respected coaches. A few of these players were lured here by their coaches.
  4. If this guy and Tuttle are our starting DEs, Bell is our staring S On offense, Miles Sanders starts at RB, Bozeman starts at C, and Hurst starts at TE. We have not added a WR or two, and Fitterer has already upgraded 6/22 positions. Once he signs a WR and we draft a QB, in one year we will have upgraded 8/22 starting positions. That is over 36% of the starters. In addition, you put Burns and Chinn in position to be more effective.
  5. As a starter, yes. However, on passing downs, he can rush the passer from the 5t (subbing for Tuttle or Williams). That is my speculation
  6. He did not get 1200 yards running sideways.
  7. That is pretty good--I was thinking he'd make about $6-7m per.
  8. 6 starters and the best mentor/backup QB in the NFL. We gotta sign a WR--so you have to think there is at least 1 more.
  9. Never trust a 48 year old man who spikes his hair with gel so he looks like Vanilla Ice.
  10. If you look at Spotrac, all of our signings are slated to make no more than about $3m. So, that means we have spent about $17m toward the cap. I think. I don't consider myself an expert--I just tried to figure out the site.
  11. About the 4 year contract: RBs are not getting second contracts that easily. Instead of top $$, we can give longer security. Miles will be 26 in May, and we can get out of this in 2025 if we want.
  12. SOUNDS like a nickname given when he was a baby
  13. Have we ever had a free agency period during which we found 5 starters (TE, RB, C, S, DL) and perhaps the best backup QB in the league? I still expect a WR.
  14. Gotta remember that Philly had a Great OL, but: Ran for 1200 yards Has ability to catch out of backfield 25 years old 5'11" 210
  15. Would I want a QB who, just about a month ago, claimed he was 90% retired and crawled into a hippy cave of blackness for several days to contemplate how he is the greatest Green Bay Packer ever? Hard pass.
  16. He is telling us who he is---we just need to listen.
  17. And I would not trade for a headache or problem when I can sign a free agent and get a headache or a problem for free.
  18. I think they need a vet and a rookie. Their lack of urgency suggests that is their plan--or they are waiting for a contract to drop---are they negotiating with Odell?
  19. I still would not be surprised to see us sign Odell--we are almost at the point where we have little choice--just restructured Hekker--so are we looking for loose change in the sofa cushions? Hmmmm. I am not sure how I feel about it-like saying "Beetlejuice" 3 times.
  20. Yes--if you are going after bargains, there has to be more risk. That is how you get a good deal--invest in the player, he gets healthy, and you have a quality player.
  21. Usually when a player tries to tell you who they are at this time of their career, you should listen.
  22. If Spotrac is correct and I am reading it correctly, we have about $18m of cap room left ($10-12 for rookies) BEFORE paying Hurst--(so estimate about $15-14m, leaving about $3m.) The Shaq Thompson restructure does not seem to be on the books yet--so maybe add $10m? Maybe someone who knows this stuff can figure it out. Rounded 2023 cap figures: Bell $3m Tuttle $3m Bozeman $3m Dalton $2m Hurst $??? https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/carolina-panthers/cap/
