    Rumors

Then they will load the shed with weapons and protection this year---and watch Daniel Jones step up and become a Geno Smith---called it.

    Rumors

I think Richardson is a joke--I did not like him coming out of college--way over drafted--maybe developmental, but not a day 1 starter....Daniel Jones can play if given tools and time--so that may be the best play

    Rumors

Explain to me why nobody is talking about the Colts taking a QB---am I missing something? Anthony Richardson, Daniel Jones, and QB/WR Jason Bean. If I am the Colts, I get a QB and if Sanders drops past 7 or so, the decision just got easier.

    Rumors

if a QB is involved, I am fairly sure you could get the second--or maybe a second next year or better. I can't understand why the Colts are not being mentioned in any of the QB rumors I have heard. Pittsburgh (if they get Rodgers) , NO, Giants--they have better QBs than Indy...
  5. I realize that he is a WCU player and WCU is a pipleine for Panther talent (players: Hoover; Coaches: Rhule) but what makes this guy any different from any other mid major 6-9 player?
  6. Where the hell have you been, Scot? Don't come back on here dropping info bombs like you have not been silent for months (to the best of my knowledge). Hope you are well--glad to have you back.
  7. Reddick was the first comparison that came to my mind. I am against him at 8, but not later.
  8. Basically, you are talking about taking a situational pass rusher at #8--not good value. Better to wait and take a player like Powell-Ryland---he "used smart hands and a diversified rush plan to accumulate 25.5 sacks over the last two seasons. He lacks length and speed but creates pressures by remaining varied and unpredictable. He uses accurate, violent hands to eliminate the punch and kick-start his bull rush. Powell-Ryland plays with a sturdy base and good leverage at the point, but he’s unlikely to control the edge. NFL length will limit his early wins, so he’ll need to keep developing his counters. The production is hard to ignore but modest traits and average athleticism will make it tough for his numbers to translate to the next level." If he busts, you lose a fourth or fifth rounder, not a first rounder. However, with so many other edges--most of which are always gambles going from college to pros--who are more than 1 trick ponies.
  9. I am not real sure how he was used last year, but it is possible that Shy was played at NT and should have been a DE--Don't know his history or how he was used--just looking at his stats and PFF score--yikes.
  10. They reached for Pickett, so they are not immune to it. I could see that as well. I just think the Colts are flying under the radar and they have been too quiet concerning their QB situation--of course, they could think Jones is their guy (they had a good one named Jones a long time ago) but I think they are done with the Richardson experiment. Even if I believed in Jones, I would still draft a QB--I also read one mock that said the Jets would take Sanders if he falls to 7---I disagree, but I was once wrong and it still bothers me.
  11. I think this is correct. I see Ward (Tenn), Carter/Hunter (Cleve), Carter/Hunter (Giants), Membou or Campbell (Pats), Graham or McMillan (Jax), Jeanty (Raiders), Jets (Membou/Campbell) Of course, there will be a trade or two, but that is where i see it. two.five weeks out. I see Indy or Pittsburgh moving up for Sanders if he drops to 7.
  12. That is what I thought, but this draft is LOADED. I think we take one --NT Brown III, Rookie NT, DEs--Brown, Robinson, Wharton, ROOKIE DE, but we have Tuttle, Ray, and Crumedy on the roster--so we could be done-

    Rumors

I think some of our visits suggest that is the plan if they can get the deal.

    Rumors

The wildcard in this draft is Jaxon Dart. If a team thinks they can take someone like Carter or Hunter and then move back into the first, that might be a good day. I could see the Giants doing it. I would also watch the Colts--they have Daniel Jones on a one year deal and Richardson at QB, and I might even move richardson to a Cordell Stewart role (anyone remember slash). They have their eye on Dart, watching to see if Sanders drops because of that Dollar Sign on his shirt--and he was recently seen at a Star Wars convention dressed as Chancellor Palpatine.
  15. Some people are dicks and working on improving. He is a dick and proud of it. In psychological terms, and I have some research in this area related to hostility in students with behavior problems that have also been observed in laboratory rodents, he likely suffers from a condition called Histrionic Personality Disorder (HPD). Expect him to illustrate this point in reaction to this post.
  16. I explained that I was old school and I realize that others have a different opinion. Being Deion's son is a bit different. It suggests that his focus is on the money and not football--It is not just the diamonds--it is the dollar sign on the shirt. Telling a reporter from the Raiders "I ain't going sixth." Asking another reporter, "Do you know who my dad is?" When asked what sets him apart from the others, he said that he is mentally more prepared. Meanwhile, Dad as recently as March Deion, implied he would advise Shedeur to avoid certain franchises--later to retract that position during an interview with Skip Bayless. You can't take the fact that he is probably a late first, early second round talent and ignore the fact that his comments, jewelry, $ on his shirts and uniform towels might suggest a feeling of entitlement, a person focused on the return more than the opportunity. As I said very clearly--this is my opinion about one person who was raised as a great player's son and how it might rub some the wrong way. It comes off as entitled. Fine if he lives up to it, but to me, it suggests that his mind might not be in the right place. Perhaps he should be focused on humility, his work ethic, and how he is going to earn it--instead, this comes off as someone who thinks this is his reward. I am sure that others feel the same way, but if I am the GM, I do not want the circus. Remember Johnny? I commented at the time that his money gesture would backfire. It tells me that his mind was not in the right place. Same thing.
  17. Why are you so confrontational about stuff that is opinion? Grow up.
  18. Thanks for this....This is the upside, and people like McShay and scouts see things that I am not trained to see. Specimens, workout warriors, developmental--he says that he has things to work on and he is only 20--why not stay in school for another season? To be fair, this excites me in that he could be a diamond in the rough. But at #8? Remember, about 15 of the 32 GMs/teams/scouting departments pick guys who underperform every year. Having said that, with Clowney and Wonnum and Jones on the roster now, Williams would have some mentors for a season and would be ready to take over as the Alpha edge in 2026. However, I wonder "which edge?" Most 4-3 prototypes that convert to a 3-4 play the strong side, not the pin your ears back side. I dunno. Maybe I just can't see it yet.
  19. I hope you are right--while I see his potential, I do not see the value on film--my untrained eye.
  20. I would also add that, aside from drafting what may be a raw, developmental player, he is 20. He had an injury-plagued year, and was second-team all SEC. He is opting to come out when he could have stayed and improved his status and refined his technique. So he is developmental. Next, he sure fits the profile for a 4-3 DE and not a 3-4 Edge. So will we be drafting a developmental 20-year old and playing him out of position? And the comparisons to Myles Garrett: Garrett ran a 4.65 at his Tex AM pro day. Mykel ran a 4.75 at his pro day.
  21. And now that the offense is better (should be with a WR addition or two) and the defense can stop the run (on paper for now), teams will be forced to throw it more. If our personnel is geared towards stopping the run as a priority, then the obvious reaction will be that we are forcing the pass. Without addressing pressure from the edge (I think we have from the DL), are we forcing the offense to expose another weakness? Can our LBs cover? Can our CBs stay healthy and reduce penalties? Do we have a free safety? How good is our nickel? I think offense is easier to rebuild because you can control the action when you design plays. Defenses have to react to the play, so it is harder.
