I don't think White is a good fit here-I see him more of a 4-3 DE--but there is a gray area there.

Arizona: Keion White, DE, Georgia Tech: White fills the biggest need at any position in the NFL with a 4-3 DE pass rusher 34. You have the top 2 Guards on the board (Torrence and Aliva), OLB/Edges Hall and Sanders, TE Washington, CBs Brents, Ringo, and Turner, and an OT I really like, Bergeron from Syracuse. UNC WR Downs is sitting right there--waiting to drive down 85 to play for the Black and Blue. That is 10 players, so I would move back to 48-50 if I could, then move up to about 60 to get a second day-2 player. But that is just me--I live on the edge.

I agree--Porter and Branch are first round talents--I even see a possible trade up for either. Ojulari makes the most sense

Thought I would assemble a list of players the Panthers are likely to target on Day 2 of the NFL Draft. Some will argue that some DEs are not on this list--but I think DE means "defensive tackle" and OLB is an edge. So if the player is 285 lbs and likely is suited to be a 4-3 DE, I did not include him, even though he is called an "edge." That means the pickings are going to be slim in rounds 2-3 for a 3-4 Edge. Drew Sanders is a LB who can play ILB and OLB with equal ease. I think he would fill our OLB / edge needs, so I include him as an OLB/pass rusher. This reminds me of the way Jimmy Clausen "fell." If you recall, The Chiefs and Vikings wanted a QB and both passed on Clausen in round 1. Then they passed on him in Round 2. Meanwhile, Hurney was trying to trade up in the time between the first and second rounds, hoping to move up (with the Rams, I think) to get Clausen, but the Rams would not deal. This was the draft that was pure Hurney because Fox was going into his lame duck year and everyone knew it. He was not involved in the Draft. So Marty is giddy when Clausen falls into the 40s and he grabs him. He then bites on a bluff by the Colts who leaked that they were going to take Armanti Edwards in the third round--so he MOVED UP to get him.

This is setting up nicely for a trade back. If you expand this list, I see 12-13 players I would gladly take in the second round. That probably means 3-4 would be there if we moved back to 50 or so. I would caution Scott Fitterer that after the second round, you are probably going for people who will struggle to make the roster--so the pool gets very shallow very quickly.

Brian Branch S/cb. This player could help us tremendously. If Porter is gone, he could be there for a secondary that is often banged up or burned. Luke Musgrave TE. Steve Avila G TCU. Darnell Washington TE Georgia. O'cyrus Torence G Florida. Move BC to Swing T and start this guy at LG. Josh Downs WR UNC BJ Ojulari DE LSU. My preference. We need an edge opposite Burns. I really do not see anyone we would trade up for, but there is a lot of talent through about pick 55. I think Scott F will trade back. Unless Mayer, Porter, Ojulari or maybe Branch (CB/S) is there.
