  1. Gonna be Jones. Not going up to #3 for a smallish school QB with basically 1 season of film. They may see some Mahomes in him, but that is a long shot.
  2. Yes--new GM, so lets see. Moton and Moore will be a good test.
  3. Dont know--it is a good debate---Carr got the hell beat out of him, Russell got paid and got fat---and Trubiski and Mayfield got better when the situation got better--- And yes, the Jets were a poo show, so lets see how Darnold does--he has no more risk than Fields or Lance, imo--so lets see. Gonna be a fun draft-season
  4. = But it is funny that someone thinks they can validate a statement by using a rookie who was asked to start on an expansion team as a worst case or equal situation--but I would argue that Carr had better coaching than Darnold did. Either way, if Carr is the comparison, the point was made.
  5. This is shaping up to be an AWESOME draft. Popcorn ready
  6. I have been looking at him and asking myself--where did you come from? I think he could be an early 3rd. Mills 20 higher than Mond? Wow.
  7. Since Fua is running scared, I will share our bet--- Regardless of picking at 8 or later, I have Surtain and and he has Horn (if we choose one of these 2, obviously). We can let a Farley lover in this if you want.
  8. They asked me for it, and I said, "Shouldn't you already know it?" Got em!!
  9. I appreciate the fact that everyone knows that I am just throwing stuff against the wall to give us something to lock horns about or discuss for the next three or four days . It is so hard to tell, but you all have been good sports, except for one of you. You know who you are--one.
  10. Describe a situation that any new QB has entered that was worse. The fit matters. If this is a worse fit, laugh
  11. You have to think we have seen his rock bottom.
  12. I really liked the bet when Fua made it--not because I think I will win it--I actually think he has the advantage---reason? Surtain could be gone, or will be gone before Horn if we trade back. However, we (my opinion) are looking for a plug and play, # 1 CB starter, and he is ready now. So the knife has two edges. I give the edge to Surtain only because he is less vulnerable to the double moves--and he needs less safety help as a result. Aside from that--no preference. Of course, you have to take into account the fact that Fua probably cheats or weasels out of bets. I considered all options
  13. Here is why it is stupid to do it now---if you are bluffing about a QB, you do not lock in Darnold yet when you can do it after the draft. If you take a QB, you do not want to be locked in. There is no advantage to doing it before the draft. None.
  14. The hard part about this? I was born in Columbia when my dad was a 20-year old TE for the Gamecocks. Grew up pulling for them. I do like Surtain better, but I always have a bit of a hesitation for Bama DBs and OL-
  15. I think a great bet for someone to take on would be the 49ers qb selection....
  16. Verge, is what you are hearing here--that the draft seems to be more unpredictable this year than in previous years---shared by the people in the know, or do they have a pretty firm grasp on what is probably going down? May not be a fair question...
  17. Darnold has not been given a chance outside of the hell that was NY. I think you are prejudging him too harshly-you might be right, but I think we all agree that he will improve. The debate is really about how much.
  18. Love to see us drop back to 15 or so and take horn or farley....doubt Surtain lasts that long--then move back up and get the T--I think Cosmi (Tex) slides, but I am not sure I want him--mixed reviews.
  19. me too, but i love the chance to dig deep for understanding--I really did this for me, and then shared it.
  20. It hard to keep up with you two--do either of you think Jones at #3?
  21. You do understand that the concept was analytics, right? They are not fortune cookies--they are in-depth, statistical reasons that help you see what you think you know or thought you knew. Now how many CBs in the second and beyond are #1 CBs? I think another CB is not a need--we have 5-6 who can make a roster. We need that guy---and that is stated. No, I did not say I think it, but it would not surprise me OK, FUA, I will bet that we draft a CB in round 1 if Sewell is off the board---at #8 or later---(damn I wish I had not started that betting thread). This draft is already getting crazy, my friend.
  22. Me too. If I can't have Sewell, I want 3 starters and enough 2022 picks to make Darnold free.
