  1. Weird. More of a 3-4 guy in my mind. Better than Addison?
  2. I would feel less secure if Hurney were the GM. I am betting that we draft a DE and a WR in the first 2 rounds.
  3. You have to look at the big picture. The draft is loaded at WR, RB, CB (not elite, but solid players). The draft is not so loaded at TE, LT (most players have an asterisk), QB, LB, and S. Why spend in areas where we can find talent in the draft if we have a limited amount of $$? Our money should be spent where we can't find good free agents. Just my opinion. I think Jaelen Strong, for example, is better than either of the players you mention and i think he would be cheaper.
  4. I don't think people on this thread were doing anything more than reacting and discussing a rumor. It is what people do on discussion boards. That does not make anyone stupid.
  5. I hear Gettlemen likes that DE from UCLA named Owambagjde Owkeokonozwa (spelling could be off a bit--not googling it). If we do not land a DE in free agency, it Gman could pull the trigger in the first or second rounds again.
  6. Bersin has good hands and catches over the middle. Well said.
  7. I would guess that it has something to do with the NFL year beginning tomorrow. Not sure.
  8. Forwarding this to you--sent to Mr Scot a minute ago-- I think Voth said "next year" which means the 2015 NFL season (?) He did not mention this (2014) year, at least, I don't think so. (I assume the comp picks for 2014 will be determined next month). If we lost Ginn to free agency during the 2014 NFL year and then got him back that same year, then it seems that the acquisition would nullify the loss of a free agent entering the 2015 season.
  9. OK, you need to go slower with me. I think Voth said "next year" which means the 2015 NFL season. He did not mention this (2014) year, at least, I don't think so. If we lost Ginn to free agency during the 2014 NFL year and then got him back that same year, then it seems that the acquisition would nullify the loss of a free agent entering the 2015 season. I need graphs and charts to comprehend this!!
  10. OUCH! or lips. His face just stops at his teeth.
  11. QUESTION: Do signing these players at the end of the 2014 NFL year hurt our chances to get comp picks next month?
  12. Beat me to it. Right outside the North entrance to to Bank of America Stadium.
  13. That was very good news. I know that all DL need the help, but Hardy had a stellar cast around him (and he was part of a stellar cast around them). I just like Morgan on our budget. I think he could be a 10-sack guy here if he was a 6-7 sack guy there. I have seen enough to believe that a strong front 7 is how you stay in games in the NFL. Can we get over Hardy? I think so. Hopefully, as you say, we already have.
  14. I agree--but our overall defense did well last year (after a period of adjustment to life without Hardy) without him. I want to see how good he is without the supporting cast and I want to see how good Morgan can be with one. Note: I loved Morgan at Tech. He was a stud. Can he do that here? I think he could be one of those gems Gettlemen finds. I remember getting mad at Hardy some games for disappearing, but all DEs do at times. Fair statements here that changed my approach. The last sentence is the bottom line!
  15. You crossed the line, WOW. I suppose engaging in a constructive discourse with a moron could be considered almost as bad. Again, I find your position very ironic... I would think that someone who seems to love conflict would be more equipped to deal with it constructively and intelligently.
  16. If we sign Ginn, I see it as a given that we will draft a WR early, because the need will still exist. Ginn would take Bersin's job.
  17. Before you go around using words like "dumb" and "stupid", you better read some of your own posts. You should be very humble in that department. One of the great ironies in life is that people who actually are dumb are usually too stupid to know it. So keep preaching from your pulpit of assumed wisdom, and maybe some idiots will believe you. Who ever said I needed evidence from court to decide that Hardy has character issues? When a "settlement:" is reached, what do you think that means? A guy was just given $12m for doing nothing and he has a chance to clear his name in court. There is a "settlement." The girl goes away, case is dismissed, you presume innocence. An innocent man would clear his name by having his day in court. When a person with a ton of money "settles" out of court and the witness in his case disappears, there is no platform for you to start yelling, "We don't know..." We, Roger Goodell, and Jerry Richardson, do not need a conviction to know what happened based on statements that were presented during the process. The photo of the speedometer, the act of riding a motorcycle, etc. suggest stupid decisions. I don't even think a few random statements from a few teammates means the entire team wants him back--we don't know, do we? This forum is the court of public opinion...The court of the NFL-that is all that matters but one you refuse to acknowledge. He would be crucified under the new NFL rules, but the Rice ruling will probably cause Goodell to go easy on him. Does that make him innocent? I was pointing to things that suggest character flaws, and you defend each one as if you just got a junior lawyer kit at Walmart. I make assumptions about people every day without court reports to go by, and I am usually right. Now that you are the defender of the wrongly oppressed, why don't you defend Bill Cosby and celebrate his contributions to humanity? Anyone who calls him a rapist based on the statements of other women has a right to do so without a conviction. We don't need courts to think for ourselves--especially when the people with money start buying silence. Take that junior lawyer kit back to Walmart and get your $2.99 back. It has no use here.
  18. I loved Hardy as a player, but not a $13m player. He was a good DE in our system for reasons I mentioned. Your point about his versatility is very valid. Morgan might be a decent alternative, but he will not be that great. I think Hardy could move around because he was not the focus in 2013--We have others on D who drew doubles, blocking from backs--they paid for not paying attention to GH. I don't know how good GH would be in Tennessee. I am guessing he would never have had 15 sacks. I hear DG is in love with the UCLA DE whose name I can easily spell and pronounce but choose not to.
  19. Don't have time for this logic, but this is the short version: 1. Lotta good people ride motorcycles responsibly. 2. Luke's guns are probably locked up in a case responsibly. 3. The $$ he used to pay for a crack ho's silence was not questionable.
  20. Damn straight. I would love Hardy back, but I think Morgan is a potential diamond in the rough at a fraction of the cost.
  21. I recall a motorcycle accident that sidelined him for a while. Another incident where he photographed his speedometer while driving over 100mph. Assault rifles Assault on female Not a guy you can count on week in, week out. Seriously, that is lot for 48 months.
  22. Yes. Hardy is not as great as people here have made him out to be. Do you really think one season (take a look back at the OTs he faced in 2013--the scrubs and weak OTs he faced to get sacks in bunches--they were jokes) makes him an elite DE? In addition, a look back at his sacks will reveal that he was only the first to pressure the qb in less than half of the sacks. In contrast, Morgan was in Tennessee, where they switched to a 3-4 and moved him to OLB. The increase in sacks during his first 3 seasons is VERY comparable to Hardy. Who was playing opposite Hardy (LDE)? Johnson. Without Johnson on the other side, Hardy is average. Who was beside him (DT) Star, KK, Edwards? Who were the linebackers? Hardy was never the focus of the offenses Compare that to Tennessee and you will see that Morgan was the focus of the offense most of the time, not so in Hardy's case. There are a lot of variables that make the 2 comparable. Not calling Morgan great, but I am calling Hardy not great (above average, but not great). Put Morgan in Hardy's situation--with CJ across from him, Star beside him, and Luke behind him, and Morgan will be much better than you think.
  23. Compare his sack total to Greg Hardy's over his first 4 years--not a lot of difference. Hardy had the one 15-sack season, but when I saw that season, I saw a lot of weaker OTs giving him multiple sack games. I also saw several sacks he was given where he was not the first to pressure the qb. I think they are looking LDE, by the way, at least eventually.
