  1. How did I not know that was the case? I knew they sought damages--but I did not know about the blindness, etc
  2. Statistically, he should be in. And if you consider the fact that he had some mediocre to bad QBs in that mix, and the others had some consistent play at QB, yup. If you discount him for things like punching teammates...maybe not. AB will have to overcome his behavioral issues--worse than Smitty--but I bet he does not get in for that reason alone.
  3. Here is my question: As Panther fans, do we want Wentz moving on to Indy? They pick 21st overall, so they do not threaten us on a trade up. The Eagles pick 7th, and they might decide to take a QB if Wentz is traded--even if Hurts is on the roster--I doubt it, but the new coach might not be a Hurts guy. The more we see teams that pick 1-15 or so satisfy their QB needs before the draft, the more likely one drops to us. This is how the WFT game hurt us. We are now one of the crowd fighting for 2-3 QBs, like a flock of seagulls at the beach going after a discarded chicken wing.
  4. Personally, I think this trade deal may have backfired big time on the Eagles. If they keep Wentz, they have a controversy. Wentz knows he was shopped and QB-desperate teams did not see him as elite. The team rallies around Hurts now. Wentz cannot be easily traded (contract, 2020 performance)--so the Eagles may have a cancerous situation on their hands. Wentz is not a really good fit in Chicago, and I see him in Indy blue--but not Bear navy. People are going to walk away from Philly and their bluff, and soon they will lose interest in the Houston fold. Both teams do not want to enter 2021 with a disgruntled QB situation--and both teams, imo, caused it. I have no idea how this will turn out, but Wentz and his contract might be all he is worth. Throw in a second rounder if it makes you feel better about losing your franchise QB. Houston, however, probably thinks this storm will blow over and they will draft his supporting cast and there will be smiles all around. Or this could be part of their plan--opposite of the Eagle strategy. We'll see.
  5. Unless Cam was just healing/overcoming the surgery, I do not want him. He was throwing balls into the dirt. That suggests he is having some weakness in his range of motion/delivery. He looked like he was throwing a medicine ball at times. I met Cam--loved him. he signed my son's Cam jersey--but when I suggested that he might be done (and I always blamed Rivera and Hurney for his short career, been saying it since 2012), people called me racist. Nothing to do with race. Wentz has more upside, and that is only because he is younger and has not taken the beating Cam takes. We may have seen the end of Cam already, but if he is signed, he will not start. Wentz will probably be given the starting gig.
  6. CONWAY, S.C. – The 2020 football season was a historical one for the Coastal Carolina football program and it was capped off with a final national ranking of No. 14 overall in both the final Associated Press Top 25 Poll and Amway Coaches Top 25 Poll presented by USA Today Sports, it was announced today.Jan 12, 2021
  7. At this point, I do not know how you keep him. He is struggling, the team is behind his backup, and he might just be the backup. I think he goes to Indy for a first rounder and maybe a fifth rounder later.
  8. The reduced cap is going to hurt some feelings in free agency. I think there could be some cheap value at the end of free agency--we should sit back and bargain shop during week 2 of free agency.
  9. If Person is correct, and it is more common knowledge/sense than insider info, then we are probably going to draft a QB, LT, CB early.
  10. It will be interesting. If you can get a good talent on a third round contract for four years, is he worth 10 times that amount? I do not think he will get more than about $5-6m. We probably lowballed him, saving the $$ for Moton. We will see.
  11. Curtis elected to hit free agency--bet it does not work out for him. Miller should be our second highest priority re-signing, along with Obada and Scott.
  12. When Person recently reported that there was a 30% chance to re-sign Moton, I called BS on him because I know Observer folks who know him--and they told me he was a joke. So remember that when you post stuff from him-the team does not tell him stuff--he has no connections. He has hair gel for middle aged men. It is called Axed. Be careful. Person says what gets him clicks.
  13. I was there too--remember those souvenir tickets in plexiglass that they gave out? Remember people wearing tuxedos? Remember Cleveland handing us about a 40 point loss to a standing ovation?
  14. Not sure about the timeline, but at this point last year, were we (Huddle) not looking for #1 rounder for Cam? There is time, but moving Wentz after June 1 makes more sense than now, if only looking at the cap figure---as best I can interpret it.
  15. I have heard that for 2 years now. Not sure they know what they are doing
  16. He played pretty well in LV, but if the Raiders thought they had something there, they would be trading Carr now. I do not see it.
  17. Are you referring to Jake Delhomme or Teddy Bridgewater? I am trying to think.
  18. I think Rhule and Carroll are the same basic coach as well--but that is just recent.
  19. When Cam was injured here and we were all having constructive, objective, completely unemotional discussions on his future, I was in the "Cam has been rode hard" camp, and questioned his longevity due to the amount of a beating he had taken--Cam had been hit twice as many times more than any other active QB. #2 was Wilson. While he has not absorbed the direct hits Cam has, he is much smaller. I also think that he is a bit of a narcissist and his best days are behind him. Having said that, he could play another 5 years--and would be a nice acquisition--but I do not see it.
  20. Nail on head--that contract is the reason the picks are not the issue--they seek to dump the contract, and the dead cap is tremendously different in a post-June 1 trade, if I am reading OTC correctly. So Philly is in a bit of a bind. I am not smart enough to figure out what might be the issue here, but can the agree to trade a player June 2 NOW? Cap savings post June 1 trade is over $25m. Before June 1, the cap savings for a trade is listed at $850,000. I do not get it, but that has to be a factor at some point. Maybe someone who understands this better than I do can explain what might be going on--if I am reading this right.
  21. In fairness, I am probably the worst evaluator of QB talent ever. But if you compare the group now to this group now--no doubt. A year with a normal football schedule will help the 2022 group. What would you have said about Burrow in 2019, for example? It is like comparing a rose to a bulb yet to bloom--a star to a sun---a tadpole to the mighty bullfrog---a--Ok, I am back! Seriously, I agree with you, but I like to challenge conventional wisdom and take a look from a different perspective.
  22. I see Rattler and Howell--right now--getting drafted before Lance and Fields--and I may be exaggerating a small bit--but there is some paralleling between 2021 picks 2-4 and 2022 picks 1-3. It was a bad year to show your skill set. I do see a full season in 2021 producing another elite QB or two. Waiting another year to see if this happens or that happens is not an aggressive approach. I hope we do something now, just without selling the farm to buy a prize cow.
