  1. He makes good reads, but the video states, "for every good read there are 2-3 bad ones" and that is not getting it done. Holding the ball too long--Cam did the same thing and the play rarely worked out for him--led to his injuries. I love the skill set, and if they can get him in the film room and covert that to the field, maybe we can get him to make better reads and get rid of the ball sooner--whatever we do, give him a line, a TE, and a game-breaking RB--we are almost there on offense.
  2. Hurney magic Key Free Agents: Okung (hurt most of season) Whitehead (sucked whole season, benched for a special teamer) Weatherly (hurt and sucked most of season) Bridgewater (4 wins) Second contract: CMC (hurt twice--I had more yards getting from my car to my house than CMC) Dead money: 25% of the cap (The reason Marty was fired)
  3. Round 2 gem--if he lasts that long.
  4. I agree, and the articles about Greg Little called him boom or bust--but I think Little had more red flags. I added a second article to my post above, but it could be the same guy. When you have a #1 like Sewell, it is easy to spot flaws in others. He is very good.
  5. I had him as the fourth rated OT in a deep class--now I am confused about him. This is an example of what I read, from a PFN source (again, one man's opinion): https://www.profootballnetwork.com/2021-nfl-draft-ten-overrated-prospects/ Samuel Cosmi This biggest farce I’ve come across on draft twitter so far this year is that Samuel Cosmi had a strong game against LSU. Cosmi won a few reps here and there, but I watched K’Lavon Chaisson take him to church more than a few times that Saturday night on national television. Cosmi, like most of this list, has a physical profile that will intrigue teams and should get him drafted decently early. However, I’ve seen Cosmi as a number of evaluators OT2 behind Penei Sewell when I believe he should be closer to OT10. His down to down consistency, footwork, and hand usage all need to be cleaned up before I can view him as a top-50 prospect. Then there is this from the OT review of PFN: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/2021-nfl-draft-offensive-tackle-superlatives/ Most overrated: Samuel Cosmi, Texas I’ve seen some analysts have Samuel Cosmi as high as OT2 and that blows my mind. What’s even more interesting is that I’ve seen people mention his performance against LSU as one of the reasons they’re a fan of him. When I watched Cosmi against LSU, I saw an underdeveloped athlete losing far too consistently for my taste. Cosmi will have a lot of developing to do before I can see him even making my top 50. Luckily for him, he’s an elite athlete which will cause the NFL to overdraft him. Honorable mentions: Dillon Radunz, NDSU/Walker Little Could be the same guy
  6. Agents use awards to negotiate higher salaries. I think Chinn deserved it, but there is a bright spot. Tre Turner, for example. Had a good year or two and got invited to every pro bowl after that--some as an alternate. He was above average, but he used these pro bowls to sound elite. He got paid and became average to below average, his conditioning seemed to suffer--and we then had to trade him to absorb the losses of a contract based on past accolades. One side, the fan side, wanted it for him. The business side decided it was a meaningless award that would hurt the team more than help it.
  7. So any opinion on a podcast is enough said for you? If you will agree to that, I have some links I will share with you. You don't know, and you can't admit it. I admit I don't know, which is why I rely on multiple facts and sources and then include probabilities to conclude that nobody knows for sure--which is why so many QBs bust. But here we are in March and you have decided who wil bust and who will excel at the next level based on a podcast? Enough said? Hilarious. You are full of it. Take care and good luck with that thing you do.
  8. What? Again, you make a general, unsupported statement/question. So there were no "playmakers" at LSU? Great point.
  9. I watched some videos on Fields and I saw him going through progressions (unless it was simply a deliberate look away to draw the safety away on a deep post). He played in a system that usually features play action, one read to pass, run. I am not like some posters on here--not afraid to say, "I have no idea." We get "Keypad Capricious" and "Cyber Sophocles" on here making unsupported statements as if we are all supposed to accept it as fact. They carry the burden of knowing what the experts have yet to grasp. You can almost tell the people who work in places with free internet.
  10. I like Lance--I think both are risky, and I could see both becoming great and both busting just as easily. I could see Jones being the best QB in the group in 10 years, or being the worst first round choice in team history.
  11. Laugh all you want--your point is outrageous. So that is how you evaluate a player? Really? Do you like Fields? I will wait for your Ohio State comparison. Do you like Lance? You must like Wentz then. Instead of comparing Jones to prior Alabama QBs, why not compare him to another SEC QB who rose from obscurity to become a national champion the year before: Joe Burrow. Joe Burrow (2019) vs. Mac Jones (2020): Passing statistics Joe Burrow, LSU (2019) Mac Jones, Alabama (2020) 94.9 PFF grade 95.5 94.1 PFF passing grade 94.5 10.8 Yards per attempt 11.2 140.9 Passer rating when clean 142.4 141.1 Passer rating under pressure 122.7 24.3% Uncatchable pass % on throws 10-plus yards 18.7% 37.9% Uncatchable pass % on tight-window throws 34.7% https://www.pff.com/news/college-football-alabama-crimson-tide-qb-mac-jones-best-in-cfb-history See? Your game works both ways. But if you broaden the scope of your comparison theory and eliminate speculation, you can only compare what Jones has done to what others have done--in college. So if you think comparing him to previous players at his school give anyone some epiphany of wisdom, then I assure you, that is no basis for an intelligent conversation. You see, I use facts and data to form opinions, not emojis, zingers, and memes. Maybe that is the difference. Still waiting?
  12. You make a lot of statements as facts without support. Both have been rumored at different times. Yes, the Raiders are likely to keep Carr, but there is debate about that. Here is an example of supporting a position: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2930700-las-vegas-raiders-should-commit-to-marcus-mariota-trade-derek-carr-in-2021
  13. Be specific. He is not a running back. He is a pocket passer who can process better than any other QB in this draft---so tell me how you know as much as you do about QBs--I mean, 77.4% passing completions without Wadell most of the season, 42 TDs vs. 4 ints, and a 350 yard per game average--in the Bama Offense. Those are numbers better than the field. But he can't run the speed option? CMC will be right beside him. Add a TE, and build the OL's left side. To steal a line from Apollo Creed in Rocky 1, one of my favorite movie characters ever, "Be a thinker, not a stinker."
  14. I see this. I think (if you are in the "5 QBs" camp), a QB there is very likely. I still would not rule out a Darnold, Carr, Minshew, Trubiski, etc. gamble.
  15. No Romo. I have the gut feeling that we are going to take Mac Jones when all the dust settles, and I (one of the few) would be OK with that, but I would say that the odds Mac Jones is the QB in 2021 are not overwhelming. A lot could happen---Mariota, for example. A trade for Minshew. Trubiski. Fields could fall. Lance could be sitting there. They could decide to trade back, build the team, and acquire a first rounder in 2022. If we go Jones, I think the Huddle will implode when that happens. I also think free agency is where we will get some hints. If Watson is still a Texan, and we do not spend much, are we holding onto hope there? If we spend a few coins on the OL, are we doing so to protect an immobile rookie QB? What would we do if Jones and Lance are on the table--a proven winner with a quick mind and limited skills or a good, athletic QB who never threw a pick in college?
  16. self medication. Childhood trauma causes the "mental illness" in many cases. Take a look at the ACE study. It explains how domestic crap leads to life long dependencies.
  17. If Houston deals Watson, it will be to NYJ in most scenarios. They will need a QB out of the deal, and #2 gives them one, #8 will not provide a starting QB. The Dolphins will not trade for Watson or draft a QB. think about it--they draft a guy #5 overall--ahead of Herbert--and he is on the surgeon's table. Then there is no OTA, no summer workouts for him, no preseason--and they are ready to move on from him? No. That would be stupid. They will build around Tua. Hell, if the front office grabs another qb--they need to be fired while watching Herbert's highlight film. Do they go with local boy Fields? Doubt it. Atlanta is more likely to draft a QB than Miami--and that would probably be dumb with the #4 pick unless WIlson is there--and he won't be. Atlanta has a ton of holes, a QB with some tread left on a bad contract--they trade back. If So Atlanta will trade back and draft a defensive player or two or three. Who trades up? Teams looking for a QB? I would assume that Lawrence and Wilson are gone before Cincinnati picks, but I am not sure Lance or Fields is solid enough to get a team to trade away a ton to move up. I expect Chase, Sewell, and maybe even Parsons or Pitts to slide into the top 10 at some point before the Panthers pick. I would also assume Fields finds a landing spot in 1-7. So it comes down to this: Who is desperate enough for a QB that they would trade capital enough to move up to #3, #4, or #5 for a QB? You could guess Detroit, but they have Goff, so why not draft a few players to build the defense and give him a WR weapon? Hard to imagine Chase or even Smith getting by this spot. No QB--they need WR, DL, LB, DB, and then QB. They could trade--the Lions would not be that expensive for a team like SF or NE to make a move-and I think Bill B. in NE is singing Cam's praises to smokescreen his intent. Will Philly go with Hurt? Would they draft ANOTHER NDSU QB? I think Hurt is thier guy for now. So there will be trades, and nobody will know a thing until April 30. I can tell you that the first two picks are Lawrence and Wilson. Book it.
  18. This year, the QBs are a bigger mystery that in the past, and they are always a mystery. Do not assume you know the deal--YouTube videos and articles by meth addicts are hardly sources we need to use to make "final answer" decisions in early March.
  19. I read that Cosmi is horribly overrated, and Verge's rating indicates that.
  20. I have had the same thought for years. What the hell is a very special, Special teams specialist? A kicker, a long snapper, and a punter. After that, you should be depth that is competing for a job on offense or defense. In fact, I sometimes wonder why we do not teach a backup LB or TE to be the long snapper. Maybe that is dumb, but...
  21. Why is that? He just seems arrogant, self-serving, and dickish, but he seems to think we all love and adore him. I don't even think his teammates like him. Can't put my finger on it, but I loathe him.
