Somehow, we are like $28m under the cap, according to Newton (SI). We need a CB so that we can look for a T in round 2 or in the event we have to trade the second round pick. Time to do something. I think we land one of the free agents by Thursday at the latest.
-
See? I hope we have dispelled that myth.
-
Me too. I don't think it happens either. I'd feel a lot better about T if that were the case.

Like arguing with a toddler at the ice cream truck-it will never end.

And that was from Cap hell--bunch of one-year contracts

Final flash of wisdom for this thread today: Is Cam going to play RT and Moton LT? Discuss.
-
SO you go into round 3 and day 3 hoping to find a player who could possibly compete in 2022.
-
Waiting until week 2 of free agency has bargains.
-
Until we sign a top CB, I am worried that we will have to use the second rounder on a CB.

People do not get how freakishly fast these athletes are. I played TE in college and ran a 4.8 (in 1923-5--during the Calvin Coolidge administration) and that was fast. Now a pocket passing QB with little "athleticism" is running a 4.86. Must be the steroids in the Food Lion Chicken. How often does a QB sprint in a football game? How often does anyone really sprint? WRs maybe? That is about it.

Mike Davis Signs 2-Year Deal with the Falcons
MHS831 replied to Greatman77's topic in Carolina Panthers
Davis averaged 3.9 yard per carry and had over 1000 all-purpose yards in 2020. Behind that OL, that is not bad. He just turned 28 and has not been ridden very hard in the NFL to date--could be a good signing. -

Felton is a slash (RB, slot). I could see him coming in and helping. -

We have Cannon, Bonnefon (good fit in this scheme), and Rodney Smith and CMC. I do not see a need for another RB right now. -
I have him listed at 275---depends on the site, I suppose. On passing downs, he will move inside like Obada did

I think we will target Fields, which means Miami trade, but I did read somewhere that the Jets are not married to the #2 pick--so for a king's ransom....the difference between #2 and #3 is substantial, so you better like Wilson a lot more than Fields to do that.

I am telling you all, when the dust settles, Jones is going to be sitting there---waiting to put on the black and blue hat and hug Roger. I had a vision....

Not only that, but there are others who pied this post. So they agree with the thread protestor expressing his opinion in the thread he does not think should exist--and yet they are reading posts within the thread. I cannot make this up. That is like driving by a strip club, going inside and grabbing the microphone on the stage and announcing, "Hey--I think people should not go into strip clubs!" and three people in the club start clapping in agreement and buy him a beer.

REPORT: Panthers remain interested in Deshaun Watson trade
MHS831 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I keep telling you folks, gonna be Mac Jones in round 1 (about 40% sure--maybe after a brief trade back, maybe at 8. He would be better that Bwater. -
Actually, the OP is exactly right. Apparently, and I have researched this, Lirim owns a piano. 40-68% of the Huddle: Duck.
-
The good news? he may have just slipped into the top 7
-
Would you rather have him and a soon to be demanding contract--or any player who is available in EARLY round 2? A Panther second rounder is much more valuable than the Bucs second rounder, for example. So we have more value with our second rounder than most teams. This process removes negotiations, so NO.
-
My opinion is this--we can probably mark Lawrence and Wilson off the list. Wilson to the Jets is a given, however, they have a history of taking a player that shocks their fan base. Frankly, I would be surprised in Fields is in play--maybe if we could trade down to get Miami's spot, but at what cost? Lance has about a 40% chance of surviving desperation row, so I think we trade down for Lance or slide back a few spots--or not--and take Jones. Funny how mad people get when I mention Jones, but the reality is, and it has nothing to do with MHS's opinion, he is the most realistic QB available at 8.

Panthers prospect pro day workouts/meetings thread
MHS831 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in 2023 NFL Draft
In my mocks, it is hard to get a T after the second round. I can see the S in this defense, however. We have little back there if we play Chinn at LB. I think they probably feel that we at least have some bodies a LT this year.
