  1. a 2022 second has third round trade value in 2021. So the fourth is actually a fifth. Add em up--we saved our picks this year, to build around the qb. We tossed away a 3 and a 5 and a 6. Boo hoo. Some of you crack babies wanted to send 3 first rounders and 2 elite players to Houston for guy who really craves deep tissue pecker rubs.
  2. His grammar should give you some indication of what you are dealing with.
  3. These are the same people thinking we should trade 3 firsts to move up with Miami (#3) earlier. This gets the talent and avoids the risk. We need to realize that the supporting cast is everything. You think they might have talked to Anderson and Elfien? And those of you bitching about the second rounder--have you seen our second rounder history? Now grab Mills, Brady, you QB whisperer you.
  4. But now we can trade back and get a 2nd rounder in 2021 or 2022. If so, this cost us a fourth and a comp pick.
  5. OK, you Trevor Lawrence on a budget shoppers--Darnold is NOT the answer-he is a cheap and smart project. You take him, work on his mechanics for a year. If he progresses, you have a 24-25 year old QB and you lock him into a long-term deal. If you don't, you cut him loose. Now, do not be surprised to see Mond or Mills or even Trask drafted by the Panthers--I know "They suck!" But you are building and addressing the position. ANSWER THIS: How many of your dream QBs would have succeeded in NY? I am going to wait over here---OK I am back--give me the names. Now to trade Teddy and get a pick back. We will probably trade #8 back--some team will want a player there I hope we grab Mills and start building around the QB spot to see what we found in the dumpster. He could have used another year, and if he came out in 2022 we might be talking about him.
  6. I know--Pitts is a TE plus, and he could help any team improve. With Slater seeming to emerge, I am not so sure about OT. Pitts is that guy nobody can defend. He could be the first Non QB mentioned. Of course, Chase is who Burrows supposedly wants.
  7. I have a secret plan. Buhawwahhbuuhaawwa. 1. Trade for Darnold (Teddy and a 4th). Work on his mechanics and give him a shot at a starting gig. He should be better with better QB coaching and a better OL and weapons. (Robby and Elfien may have inside info). Darnold in a contract year will be interested in improvement. 2. Draft Mond or Mills. Develop them as well. If he good as Darnold by the end of 2, cut him loose. So yes, start a qb competition. 3. If Fields is there, you probably take him, but he is going to need development as well. Keep Teddy until Fields is ready.
  8. I guess diplomacy and the art of compromise proved to be ineffective.
  9. I think that Jones will be there at 8 if he is not taken at 3. I think we take Jones UNLESS we have made a deal with the Jets for Darnold--even then, we could take Jones, Mills, or Mond. If Jones goes at 3, and Atlanta does NOT take a QB, we are a lock to get a shot at Fields and/or Lance. If Jones goes at 3 and Atlanta takes Fields at 4, then I think we could move up to #5 or 6 and grab Lance, just to keep Denver in our rear view mirrors. Here is some MHS logic: Trade Bridgewater and a #4 to NYJ for Darnold. They get a good backup at a good price for a season or two, we get a developmental 4th year QB. Then draft a developmental QB like Mills. Build the OL more and get a TE to go with Arnold. Do not count on Erving and Elfein to get the job done; draft a LT and G---and a C to take over next year. So if Darnold does not perform, you let him go. You have then been developing a young QB with some upside. So in my opinion, we probably take Jones if he is there--but what if we traded down with a team wanting to leapfrog Denver for the last top QB? Chicago, New England, or maybe Washington? Then we could add some picks, trade for Darnold, draft Mills or Mond, and it is possible that we would be in better shape than if we just picked Jones. Finally, I think Darnold will be better here--better weapons, better defense, better OL (maybe) and better TE (maybe). If someone can fix his lower body errors, he can be the steal of the year.
  10. First of all, the source said he (or she--out of respect for Verge) guesses that Carolina would be a player for Darnold. Darnold has all the tools; if they could get his mechanics right, it could be the best QB deal of the off season. I would give the third (2022) and I would bring him in and put him through QB boot camp. I would hire a personal mechanics coach to work with his as much as his position coach. I would also draft Mills or Mond later and have the mechanics coach do the same thing. I think SF is not a lock to draft Jones, but he is ready to play in a good system, and that is what SF has. Lance needs time. It will be interesting to see--- But here is the interesting part of this: No mention of Fields.
  11. I see the fit in SF--he seems to have the tools there for a QB like Mac.
  12. I was referring to the fact that he coached with his father--and learned a lot from his father. I was not clear and my memory was foggy--did not check it. Knew they coached together--in a super bowl--the SF/KC super bowl--and with the WFT before that.
  13. https://theeagle.com/townnews/sport/can-johnny-manziel-read-a-defense/article_959d3d8b-6213-5df2-ad42-8d76c35c4876.html https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/video/tiki-and-tierney-sam-darnold-cannot-read-defenses/ https://www.sportsmockery.com/chicago-bears/mitch-trubisky-openly-admits-he-still-cant-read-defenses/ Yeah, its not only a racial thing until someone makes it one.
  14. I loved Cam the person, but he had some problems that his tremendous athleticism was able to overcome at the price of shortening his career. I see your point.
  15. With the exception of Namath who was, in my opinion, overrated, the Jets best QB is probably Chad Pennington if you factor in the length of time--Maybe an aging Testaverde. Heck, even the year Farve was there he threw 22 picks. The place is cursed.
  16. when coastal pressured him, he was not effective. Of course, he had some drops, but that could be related to timing as much as any other factor.
  17. It sure is looking like the wrong Clemson Tiger is nicknamed, "Dabo".
  18. The police are investigating this due to public pressure. The fact that Watson goes to different women is disturbing; it suggests that the masseuse and not the massage were the focal point--but not a crime. We know this--a celebrity has to be very careful, and that is what DW is in Texas. This was not smart, regardless, because he made himself vulnerable. I have not been keeping up, but is there video evidence of this? It would seem, to protect yourself and your client, that sessions would be recorded.
  19. Using your argument, we should upgrade the OL and not QB. And there is something to that. Rhule used a word to describe Teddy that I think is important and accurate--he said, "Teddy has no sense of urgency." What does that mean in coach speak? Rhule needed Teddy to take the team on his back and drive the field to win the game about 7 or 8 times, and Teddy failed every time. Based on what I see about Teddy, his body language and demeanor do not reflect the situation. He is just going through the motions. He could get away with that in New Orleans with a good OL and WRs when nobody was expecting him to win, but here--he had to make plays. Is Teddy a leader? Is he fearless? Does he have confidence that he can make the throws? I watched a bunch of end zone video on him and I did not realize how much Teddy was checking down from open WRs. So yes, you can compare Jones to Teddy and you can compare him to a Fitzmagic, Dalton, Delhomme, etc. Jones had the balls to throw it up-and he had the dogs to go chase it down. We will see!
  20. But I do not recall Watson and Mahommes being criticized for slow processing speed. Watson was a bit small and had a strong supporting cast; Mahommes was a reckless gunslinger.
