  1. I know--used to be when I would gash my head on the rim, it would take a week to heal--now it takes a month. Damn this getting old!
  2. I heard Willis was throwing to his first read all day.
  3. A first and second this year, first next year should do it.
  4. The Panthers are in love with the Panther from Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh is in love with the Flame from Atlanta. Got it.
  5. Christian Ponder too. Don't forget him. They don't in Minnesota.
  6. Here is what I know--nobody really knows. That is why Baker Mayfield was a #1 pick and Tom Brady was pick #199. Anyone posting comments for or against any prospect with unyielding certainty is a fake-ass blowhard.
  7. after 5 minutes you lose that luxury
  8. does he always slap the ball before he throws it?
  9. We could get this year's first, second, and 2023's first (probably a top 10-12 pick). That could be interesting if we have to draft a QB in 2023 (we'd have 2 draft picks).
  10. I for one am interested in this pro day. I expect him to dazzle. Do I think he has better upside? Yes. Does that mean he will be better? No. I also want to see Corral--he is the one who might sneak in and steal the show. Nobody talking about him.
  11. You know, Doc, you probably should include Philly here--they have 15, 16, and 19---they could easily move up with any 2 of these picks. Philly is in the market, I have heard.
  12. If they sign a QB and a LT, or if 4 Tackles go before they pick at #6--then they MIGHT take a DE. Kiper is a fraud and has been for years. He is always totally wrong but they bring him back.
  13. Joe Burrow has small hands and only 1 good year of college production. So any comparisons should start there, not some QB with nothing in common. The logic: Pickett has small hands and one good year of production: he must be....Joey Harrington. Discuss.
  14. I did too. Wonder who profits off clicks around here?
  15. Here is something that bothers me: If you were going to inspect his hands, would you wait until his pro day and do it in a cluster of Panther personnel making it obvious that they were looking at his hands? To me, that reeked of smokescreen--but they were all there, and I doubt they go to that much trouble to fake out a team--I dunno. I just thought it was very dumb to be so public with your interest with 403 cameras rolling.
  16. I see Baker in Seattle. Just a hunch, but Pete C is good with players with strong personalities.
  17. Or "dagger" depending on how it plays out. I am OK if we can steal Baker--not going to crucify him because he was not great with a bad shoulder--I am not going to crucify him if his emotions get away from him-I think in many ways that he is the answer to the problem--unless you love a QB this draft. Gonna be fun
  18. No news from Panthers because the whole front office, scouts, and coaches were in Pittsburgh. I have been thinking, Huddlenation, and here is what I thunk: 1. The Falcons will not trade up for a QB with Mariota--they will not draft a QB in round 1 either--too many needs. 2. The Lions may enter the Mayfield sweepstake, so they are not taking a QB at #2. 3. The Eagles took Pickett to dinner. The Eagles have 3 picks in round 1 (15, 16, and 19), so they can have anyone they want if they are willing to pay. They seem to like Pickett. Would they give up #16 and #19 to trade up to #5 or #4? Unlikely that deal goes down for Pickett, but I think the Eagles are the biggest threat to getting Pickett away from Rhule and Co. 4. The Steelers share facilities with Pickett and they sorta need a QB, even though they have Trubiski. At pick 20, they do not have the muscle to get up to #5 or sooner. 5. So it seems that the Panthers could roll the dice, move back four or five spots, and still get any QB they want--assuming Atlanta is happy with Mariota and Philly does not make a move.
