  1. I dunno. There could be 2 of the 3 top WRs gone...Sewell could be on the board....
  2. You bring it all together. Denver, New England, Washington, and Chicago (9-20) all have no real options like we do at QB. 9, 15, 19, 20. Do not forget, Philly and Minnesota could decide to get a QB-- So if Miami and Detroit take non QBs, OH MY.
  3. And he talked about the Panthers averaging 6.2 picks per draft vs. the league average 8.1. Unless a certain player is there (SEWELL) we are probably trading down.
  4. Hurney will run to the podium, by mistake.
  5. Moo, you got me thinking. If they had a pro bowl for professional bowlers, what would you call it?
  6. It could mean that since you can't find a Drew Brees who can move like Lamar Jackson, you take the better QB--Drew Brees. Perspective is everything.
  7. People seem to overlook the fact that Bridgewater might have been one of a few options. Damn the contract, Marty, but the player? He went 5-0 the year before, a former first rounder. You do not find many sure things in free agency at QB. And if the Panthers were the only team to ever miss on a QB free agent, I could see the criticism. It is a process.
  8. Folks, your argument about Jones is crazy. He puts the ball where it needs to be when it needs to be there. Period. How can you criticize that? If he was protected, he should be. If he had good WRs? He should have--that is not a criticism. You act like Lance and Trevor did not have weapons or an OL. I have been saying this for months--he gets it done and it ain't pretty, but if you watch the tape--when he throws the ball (before the WR is open) that matters. Yards after the catch are not WR stats--they are QB stats because the ball arrived before the window closed and the WR caught it in stride. You are ignorantly bashing the national championship QB who has the highest completion percentage in NCAA history and averaged 349 yards per game. Take Trevor, Fields, Lance, or Wilson and put them behind center in Bama, and they probably do WORSE or no better. Damn. So he can't run. Not a RB.
  9. I would LOVE to make a career doing what he does--knowing that being wrong is OK. I would even sport the Kiper hair just to know that I got rich predicting where people will never play football.
  10. Perhaps a new emoji for draft week:
  11. You made me do this: Remember--this is your fault: You are to blame for this: This is on you:
  12. I thought Zod was homeless. This changes everything!
  13. Very fair question. Because there are things called performance variables, and I teach them in relation to leadership. Here is a physical example I use in a class to demonstrate the concept. 1. I have a volunteer come to the front of the classroom. I have then stand on one foot for 30 seconds or so if they can--most can. Then I have them do it with the class applauding--they do better. Then I have the do it with their eyes closed, and they fall before 30 seconds are up. The message? Without support and vision, we fail. I tie that to many other things in relation to leadership/management, and the stats are always the same---human beings need support, guidance, etc. to succeed. That does not give me a crystal ball, but the students find it to be fascinating. I have them describe why they were able to stand better with the applause. Most say, "Because I did not want to let everyone down or cause the applause to stop based on failure." Gave them confidence. The eyes closed? "I felt insecure. As if everyone was watching. Vulnerable--a sacrifice. And it is harder to balance when your environment is not defined--even if you know the environment. We need the reassurance of knowing for ourselves..." etc. In the end, we are all humans. The kid was 20 years old when he got there. If it did not destroy him, which is often the case, it will make him better and he will be better with support and sensible vision, and when we give him the ability to see his surroundings and act as he sees fit, he should improve. There is a lot of research on this in management and leadership psychology texts. While I do not know, I believe very strongly this will be a good setting, if surrounded by positive, visionary, supportive people---I think we have that.
  14. yeah, you have to see who is on the board at 8
  15. Gonna be Jones. Not going up to #3 for a smallish school QB with basically 1 season of film. They may see some Mahomes in him, but that is a long shot.
  16. Yes--new GM, so lets see. Moton and Moore will be a good test.
  17. Dont know--it is a good debate---Carr got the hell beat out of him, Russell got paid and got fat---and Trubiski and Mayfield got better when the situation got better--- And yes, the Jets were a poo show, so lets see how Darnold does--he has no more risk than Fields or Lance, imo--so lets see. Gonna be a fun draft-season
  18. = But it is funny that someone thinks they can validate a statement by using a rookie who was asked to start on an expansion team as a worst case or equal situation--but I would argue that Carr had better coaching than Darnold did. Either way, if Carr is the comparison, the point was made.
  19. This is shaping up to be an AWESOME draft. Popcorn ready
  20. I have been looking at him and asking myself--where did you come from? I think he could be an early 3rd. Mills 20 higher than Mond? Wow.
  21. Since Fua is running scared, I will share our bet--- Regardless of picking at 8 or later, I have Surtain and and he has Horn (if we choose one of these 2, obviously). We can let a Farley lover in this if you want.
  22. They asked me for it, and I said, "Shouldn't you already know it?" Got em!!
  23. I appreciate the fact that everyone knows that I am just throwing stuff against the wall to give us something to lock horns about or discuss for the next three or four days . It is so hard to tell, but you all have been good sports, except for one of you. You know who you are--one.
