  1. Not trying to start something, but Rayzor never merges my threads.
  2. I think he and brown will be our starting guards next year. The kid from Grambling dominated the big boys at the SR Bowl. I think he is the LG of 2022 and Brown will be the RG. Elflein to Center maybe, and hopefully Christensen can hold down the LT job across from Moton. I think Moore is this year's Norwell.
  3. I love where we are now at G, DT, CB, and even TE (Arnold, Tremble). We have NEVER been this good at WR, and CMC and Chuba could rival the Double Trouble side show from a decade ago. I feel better about OT, QB, and special teams.
  4. According to Rhule, Chuba fell off last year due to a high ankle sprain he played on. These guys did their homework.
  5. And now, deep thoughts: I am most excited about what we found in Nixon, Brown, and Smith later in the draft. Not exaggerating--those three are better than some of Marty's top 3 draft picks--I can't think of a Marty draft that was much better.
  6. I agree, but in a year or two from now, I am willing to bet Shi Smith is an A+. I think he was undervalued going in and he dropped. Tremble will be that locker room guy--fan favorite--special teams hero and basic slobber knocker. Agreed, he could have gone a round later--although some had him as the #3 TE in a weak TE class. I am most excited about what we found in Nixon, Brown, and Smith later in the draft. 7. Doesn't "They may have made a mistake" imply that they also may NOT have made a mistake?
  8. We all knew Zod could not go the distance had to go "ice up" -- and would need a closer. -- Nice work, JOAT.
  9. I take moral victories. It was fun doing this--I got the first 2 right, so I am hanging a banner.
  10. I also think we got our LG as well as an Und. FA
  11. He needs to be at 340 tops--preferably at 330.
  12. Put him beside Moton--one of the smartest dudes on the team--let Moton be his big brother for a year.
  13. You act like Rhule had a ton of options. And he may have thought he could win with Teddy. He did not know Okung was going to need a walker, CMC would be out, and his TEs were speed bumps. He got to see that Teddy cannot take a team on his back and win, but if in a better situation, we may not be talking about Darnold. Marty gave TB the contract and if you expect your coach to handle the financial end with agents, you misunderstand the business. You know better.
  14. Look how often he uses "we" over "he". The man knows what he is doing.
  15. Nice thought--I thought they might move Pride there.
  16. PS for Bayless. Zylstra competes for the 6th WR spot if we carry that many
  17. We have never improved in one offseason more than we did this weekend. OK, when we drafted Cam, but I am talking roster--top to bottom.
  18. I look for the following possible veteran cuts probable to make the roster before the draft: 1. Stantly Thomas-Oliver III CB 2. Ian Thomas TE 3. Rashaan Melvin CB 4. Christian Miller OLB 5. Austin Larkin DE 6. Dennis Daley OL (unless he can find health) 7.Trenton Cannon RB 8. Rodney Smith RB 9. Colin Thompson TE 10. Brandon Zylstra WR 11. Greg Little OT 12. JJ Jansen (that one hurts) LS 13. Joey Slye K So it is hard to say--we added 11 picks (I think 10 make the roster), and 11 free agents that will stick in my opinion, and I think 1 undrafted free agent makes this roster (Moore). So that is 22 new faces, leaving 9 not listed above on the bubble, but I think the roster limit increases in 2021. Remember, you will have a player or two on IR, so this should cover it WORST CASE SCENARIO. They are: Frankie Luvu LB Marquis Haynes Edge Troy Pride CB Kenny Robinson S Stephen Sullivan TE Yall should try this--it is hard.
  19. Safety, QB Depth. but every other weakness was addressed. GUARD: We inadvertently got really good at Guard with a sixth round pick and an undrafted free agent. Deante Brown and David Moore might be starting at some point in the near future. Sure, Elflein may be solid and Miller does not embarrass himself, but we could have some studs on the vine. TACKLE: Christensen is very athletic, but he is a year away, if you ask me. Be patient. Short arms. Saw his interview--very smart. WIDE RECEIVER: When have we ever had FIVE threats to take it to the house. The 2 WRs we added were steals---Marshall had a late first/early second round grade--we got him at the end of the second. Shi Smith on a team like Alabama or LSU or Clemson or Ohio State is a second rounder all day long. We stole him. So we have Anderson, DJ Moore, D Moore, Marshall, and Smith. WHAT? TIGHT END: And we added a pass-catching TE (Arnold) and another that can help pass protect--and who knows what Sullivan (a 6-5 converted WR) might add---what? This offense is DAMN GOOD on paper. I expect Darnold to become a solid to good QB in 2021. QUARTERBACK: I believe. I would not mind a veteran behind him instead of Mr. XFL and Duck Dynasty Revisited--he could use a veteran with a voice. RUNNING BACK: CMC, Chuba, and maybe Cannon or R. Smith or Bonnefon. I like the options. DEFENSE DEFENSIVE TACKLES: While I love the addition of Jones as a veteran 3 technique, I think the DT crop was so bad, people forgot about it. Nixon was probably a third rounder (some had him higher) and we took him in the fifth. Another versatile, athletic player, much like the athleticism displayed by the OT in the third round. Put them beside D. Brown and Roy, and we should be tough up front. DEFENSIVE ENDS/EDGE: We did not need any. I am not sure that any on day 3 would have made our practice squad. LINEBACKERS: Not really sure what we have against LBs, but all I can figure, is that they want to play Chinn in the box and Shaq, Perriman, and Carter etc. will hold it down. C. Miller? Orr? Luvu? OUTSIDE CORNERS: Horn, Bouye, and maybe eventually K. Taylor to play some press man--this is something we have never seen before. No more magnified protective visors so our CBs could spot the WR on the horizon. Not sure what this means about Pride--is he moving to S? Just a guess. INSIDE (NICKELS): Hartsfield is my favorite, but I know we have to do something with the tackling whiff machine D. Jackson. I doubt it. Melvin has experience inside, fwiw. SAFETIES: I wonder if Pride will not be moved to FS to see if he can give us something we do not have there. Aside from that, Franklin, Burris, Ibe, Robinson does not seem like a plan. I expect them to address this before the season starts.
  20. The ONLY spot on the OL I worry about (and I get there will be a period of adjustment) is LT. Christensen, Scott, and Irving, however, can make it better than it has been.
  21. Here is another way to look at it. This team averages 6.2 draft picks a year. The league average is 8.1. Today, we drafted 11 players, and I imagine 9-10 will stick. It was like 2 drafts. I am not suggesting anything, but we added 2 WRs in the draft and Moore in free agency from Seattle. We have DJ through 2022. Technically, we could cut Waive or trade Anderson this year and save $8m. Do not want that, be if we had to do so... We probably won't have Jackson next year---he is injury prone and inconsistent. We added 2 CBs in free agency, 2 in the draft. We also have Thomas-Oliver and Pride and Hartsfield at nickel. Cutting or trading Jackson saves the team $2.4m and leaves about $400k in dead cap. We added 2 TEs in free agency (Sullivan and Arnold) and we just drafted Tremble. Ian Thomas is in a contract year and cutting him frees $2m vs. $200k in dead cap. So if we HAD to, we could clear $12m without hurting our dead money much at all. I see Thomas getting cut, and I would not be surprised to see Jackson cut or dealt. So as we all know, it is not all about talent--it is about cap management as well, and if you have players earning $2+m per and they are in a contract year and not likely to help the team, why pay them?
  22. Next year, when we have that extra 4th because Fitterer ate Houston's lunch on that trade, we will rejoice and engage in festive merriment.
