Responding to a similarly phrased statement. Speaking of--why cookie monster use bad grammar in front of kids?

there will be 3 preseason games--we will have some vanilla tape. But at the end of the day, you just have to bust them in the mouth and take it away from them.

Us not lose.

Maybe. But I put my creased dollar back in my pocket until you are done. I have boundaries.

It does not depend, really. Football players owe any of us NOTHING. This killed 500,000 people in the US and people are acting like it is some topic to debate because they think this is a religious or political event and not a medical crisis. Now people think players should sacrifice their lives and the lives of their families and friends because they are misinformed and gullible? I think any jouster in Europe in the 1600s was a puss because they did not compete during the bubonic plague. Dumbassery at its finest here folks. Your life, your choice. Same damn people worried about losing their gun or speech rights think they have the right to tell others to risk their lives--just beyond hypocritical. Damn people--it really is obvious. No gray area. Not six of one or half dozen of the other. If you haven't grasped this yet, sue your elementary schools for malpractice.

He needs to focus on football. Women weaken legs.

I remember the same comment about the Washington Redskins circa 1993...

Darnold is going to be better. His WRs will be better, his OL will be better, his defense will be better. Running backs? better. TEs? better. Coaches? Better. The hesitation that he was showing in the QB tape video is central to his problems. Note early in the tape the 2 WRs are engaged in communication at the LOS and then run the same route. Confused WRs kill QB accuracy--they vary speed, alter routes, etc. Play calling? Terrible, from what I hear. The OL? pressure not from one area--from several. Running backs? Nope. Defense? Very Terrible. I think, when he gets confidence and has 4-5 Stud Wrs, a stud RB, a better line----his confidence will improve and the hesitations will go away. He will anticipate and throw it with authority. He was 23 and human, expected to carry a terrible franchise. We found a gem. You will see. -
You will like Elflein. What are you basing your assumption on? I have watched him when watching Darnold tapes--#67--check him out. I think you are wrong, and I am sure that won't bother you.
-
There were signs that his WRs were confused and I saw a few terrible routes. I think that may explains some of that.
-
I have been watching Elflien in vidoes about Darnold and I like him. I think LT is wide open--the rest is fairly set--but would it not be sweet to see Brown take RG? I think they will start Irving and give the job to Christensen a few games into to season--but you are on to something about his LG potential. He could be a stud there.

Probably just negotiating. He signed the tag quickly, so he wanted to kick the can into this year for a long term contract--better money--not much of a downside for Moton--and maybe figured Marty would overpay to save his job as he has done in the past--we shall see.

I still say the best football name of all time turned out to be a sissy- Yes, I am talking about Wolf Blitzer. What a waste of a name. -

His nickname did change at Bama--they started calling him "big bread" or "bread." Hear it from a former teammate at Bama. -
I haven't thought about this angle--I think you're exactly right.
-
8th year of eligibility? Why not? Sitting on the bench and watching football pays more than social security, where you sit on the couch and watch football.

You have to look at it in contract cycles. They overlap. There are times when you can't afford to pay 3-4 players a third of the cap. That point was mentioned in the beginning, and every team loses a good player regularly. If you look at it as one player, one contract, sure--you're right. Marty would extend and offer guaranteed money to reduce the cap--kicking the can down the road--and you can do that for a while. He would brag, "We have the highest paid RBs and C and LB in the NFL."--all players he drafted. I thought, "Yes we do, Mr. Negotiator." Then people bitch in free agency when we are going after PS players. So I get it, but if you look at it like "We should pay Moton." Should we? Whose future contract are we sacrificing? It is more like: Moton, DJ Moore, Burns, Darnold. pick 3. If I am Moore, for example, and I see Moton getting paid more than any other RT in the league and most LTs, what do I think? A: I want to get paid like an elite player too, even though I am not. B: I Iike Moton, so I will play for less than I am worth. Let me call Burns and tell him to do the same.
-
Think Greg Hardy. Not talking outcome, I am saying, while he was here for the most part, he did OK.
-
And when Darnold kicks ass and Fields is the next great NFL Ohio State QB to never hit a second contract, are you bumping this thread? You see, people have to make decisions, and you prefer the unknown to the known because you do not understand or like what you know. You don't comprehend improvement, fit, support systems because you are seeking a messiah--a quick fix to your problems. Bump the thread when you're right is gloriously self-serving and one-sided. If you offered to post a pick of yourself on your knees in front of Fitterer with carpet burns on your forehead if you are wrong, then I would admire your bravado.
-
I am scared they will. He want elite LT money. And if so, they let him walk. I always estimate on the high side, however, so maybe his demands are just a negotiation tactic. Nobody should negotiate in 2020-21 if they could get tagged.

It's kinda dumb, but this will make for Panthers trivia one day.

We probably came close to having 3 Moores playing WR, giving our team 4 moores. -
If this draft pans out and in 2 years we have a third rounder, a sixth rounder, and possibly an undrafted free agent playing key roles, that is a coup. Not only was Fitterer trying to find the best free agents and draft picks, he had to be doing so with the idea of re-signing Moton. With DJ Moore, Anderson (Possibly), Darnold, Burns, etc. salaries on the horizon, he has some tough calls to make down the road. For example, Moton reportedly wants LT money. Have the Panthers positioned themselves to accommodate that cost? That loss? Some will say, “But MHS, we are going to have more cap room!!! Frugal GMs that make wise decisions win rings—not big spenders with daddy’s credit card. Taking a look at the roster, you can see the players below (not bolded) who are probably not going to be on the roster in 2022. The only bolded player who could be a free agent in 2022 is Moton, and the rest of the bolded players are signed on reasonable contracts through at least 2023 (at least for 2 more seasons). I wonder if this move gives us more than depth—it gives us options. With that in mind, getting these 3 rookies playing is going to be important even if we do not lock down Moton by July. · C Matt Paradis’ final season as a starter is probably 2021. He is 32 and has a voidable contract after 2021, but it would create $4+m in dead cap for 2022 and 2023, the way I understand it. · RG John Miller’s final season on his contract is 2021. He will be 29. · OT Trenton Scott’s final season on his contract is 2021. He will be 28. · Rookie Contract: OT Greg Little for the 2021 season (he will be cut in 2022 unless he is cut now--we will probably carry 10 OL, and this list has 11…) · OT Taylor Moton’s final season is 2021. He is 27. Expect him to get a contract for 4 years. · Signed LG/C Elflein for 3 years, through 2023. · Signed OL Irving for 2 years, through 2022. · Rookie Contract: LG/OT Dennis Daley through the 2022 season. · Rookie Contract: OT Brady Christenson (2/3 round value) to play LT-through 2024. · We drafted OG Deonte Brown (4th round value) to play RG through 2024. · We signed SR BOWL OG/C Dave Moore (5th round value) to play IOL through 2024. So looking at the group that is guaranteed to be here for the next 2 seasons, IF NO OTHER PLAYERS ARE ADDED AND WE DECIDE THAT MOTON WANTS TOO MUCH $$$, you STILL have a potentially-effective OL: · LT Christensen · LG Elflein (Daley) · C Moore (Elflein) · RG Brown · RT Irving (Daley) It is my opinion that we will re-sign Moton for about $18m per season for 5 years, and Christensen develops into a serviceable lineman—hopefully a LT. I see a day when Elflien is given a shot at C, and Moore and Brown are given guard duties. So if you kept hearing, “We are building the OL, I guess you can say that we drafted 3 players after the second round that can all be starting in a year or two. That is all you ask for. Just trying to keep some fresh perspective on the Huddle folks. Not trying to be an expert, but I am not interested in the fact that Juston Burris is considering changing his shoe size or that the Boston Celtics offered us a future pick to move up for a guard. This is real, and you can almost see the plan unfolding.
