I am not a fan of Smitty the person--huge fan of smitty the player--not sure about his color commentary. He is honest and confusing at times.

However, there is one ball and only one pass thrown per pass play. You use numbers from last year, when we had 3 WRs and no TEs and no CMC. This year, CMC will get more carries and more passes thrown to him and Arnold will be a factor--and while that increases the passing yardage for Darnold, it makes it more unlikely that Moore, Anderson and the rest get the looks they got last year. Furthermore, we should be ahead more this year, so a ball, control run offense eats clock. Cam's record when he threw for 200 yards was better than when he had to go for 300. I see your point, but I think we will control the ball more this year, eat more clock, etc. We shall see--I am not always right, says my wife.

Your point was that it takes a conviction to dissuade you from wanting him--my point is that the image is the important thing--not the conviction. A conviction only tells you what 12 people (or so) thought and how good his attorney was vs. Prosecutors. Money tends to win in the courtrooms, but you want to use convictions as the only determination of his character---but turn the tables, and it is a "terrible analog." The only thing that matters is what hiring him does to the bottom line and the image you are trying to market---OJ Simpson is not doing commercials today and he was innocent--why not? Just exposing hypocrisy.
