  1. Back to the topic, if you combine McCown's comment (if he said "live") and the fact that Houston was not really there in full force, it tells me a few things: 1. The Texans think the Panthers will go with Stroud and they are not buying the Panther smokescreen. Maybe they wanted to seem disinterested in Stroud to lure the Panthers into trading--hoping they would assume the Texans want young. Could be some chess moves going on here--or not. 2. The Panthers probably have Stroud #1 on their board, at least #1 on McCown's board 3. The comment, if reflective of discussions with the staff, suggests that the combine, interviews, and pro day suggests that he "checks all the boxes". 4. If Stroud "checks all the boxes" then there is no way Young can impress enough to get the job because he is 5'10" and probably will be for a while. 5" of height and somewhere around 15-20 lbs of weight is significant if the players are otherwise pretty equal.
  2. She called it. That is going to make him great--if his release slows because he is not processing, it is a bad sign, but I watched some OSU film--I do not see it. When you can throw it 60 yards by flicking your wrists, it keeps the DBs honest.
  3. As I tell my wife---"There are only 2 places for women.... ...inside and outside."
  4. Did Someone ask for a cocky dick?
  5. It would mean that he wasn't drafted until the seventh round. I personally do not think the Panthers will trade down--I think they will all know the pick (and I am about 60% sure they saw his pro day today). While I like a lot of things about Young, as a coach, I would want Stroud. The accuracy, timing, and quick release---oh my.
  6. For those of you wanting a bigger QB, you will probably wish we had taken the QB from Kentucky---in 2004.
  7. I thought so!!! McCown has it narrowed down to 2--Stroud and Tepper.
  8. He was on the field after the workout and shook hands with him when McCown and Reich were talking to him--he did not chat--just leaned in during the conversation with the coaches and sorta interrupted. As I said, this is "worrisome" to me. Not a big deal, but when I say, "worrisome" it implies that he could be meddling because he was there, unlike most owners at all pro days--and you say, "it is ok if he does not meddle." ???
  9. A lot of what this guy says is supported by events that have happened--such as signing Thielen....
  10. Yup. They don't really have the coaches with a history of developing a QB like this--and I am not sure they have the offensive system and personnel for it--
  11. Bozeman is too low and Christensen is probably a bit high.
  12. Coming on just to say this---8 pages so far? Cam is 34. Good luck to him, but Cam is not a backup in this league because he lacks the ability to be a backup---his personality is so strong, he would be a distraction even if that is not his intent. If people who need a QB are not bidding on Lamar Jackson, I doubt Cam gets any attention. Maybe he is doing this for a midseason injury.
  13. Sam Howell too. He was a sure fire first rounder then fell to the fifth round.
  14. Agreed, and here is why: 1. Jackson and Horn seem to be fragile--how often have both been on the field at the same time? 2. Fitterer (I think) said that Horn would play the nickel when Chinn was not playing the big nickel. Taking Horn from outside is a huge mistake, imo. Henderson on the outside is not the answer. He needs to be a reserve or play only in 4 CB sets--prevent, in other words. 3. Jackson is likely to be gone in 2024. We need to groom CBs now to cover that loss.
  15. I see 3 NTs and 3 DEs--and YGM is probably a hybrid pass rusher from the 5--not sure how he fits at 265.
  16. I just do not see taking on the risk. Cam's completion percentage at Auburn was 10% higher (roughly) than Richardson, and in the NFL, Cam was below 60%. If you have a Stroud or Young sitting right there, do you take a QB who will dazzle with his running ability, but his passing is a huge ? I would take him #1 in last year's draft, but not this season. However, anything is possible.
  17. They are making moves to win now---unless they plan to start Dalton for a season or more, this makes no sense. If Cam Newton had not played here--and these players are similar---would this even be in the discussion? RISK is a very important factor--Tepper knows RISK---CALCULATED Risk. When you have 2 investments that will earn a 10% return for 10+ years, you don't invest in something that might tank or earn you 15% for 8 years--- Tepper Knows Risk, and if this decision had been made, they would not be traveling to Columbus by the dozen.
  18. TIME TRAVELING: Sheena Quick: General consensus from those in the know here in Indy is that Malik Willis is “it.” 3:20 PM · Mar 4, 2022 from Indianapolis, IN
  19. And it does not explain why the Panthers' owners and 9 scouts and coaches are going to Columbus. Too much talking going on right now--people need to pay attention. They have over 1 month to make a decision.

  21. As a rotational DE, he is going to be solid--20 snaps per game--maybe 25. That gives us Williams, Anderson, Brown, YGM (I think he will be the inside pass rusher) at the DE positions.
  22. Funny thing is this--I don't think the Panthers know for sure yet--so any outsider who claims to know is silly.
