  1. He is a game manager--average. Unless you have a Mahommes or Allen or Burrow--trade your starting qb and draft one. I could pour the money in my defense and OL and draft a promising young QB. Wow.
  2. We have got to have our rookies step up--TMac and Ransom in particular. Princely and Scourton will need to develop quickly, but I do not expect a miracle from either. We still have Wonnum (averages about 8 sacks per season) and Jones. Our CBs need to stay healthy. Expect a run-first, play action pass offense.
  3. Why the hell is XL wearing a tie? Starting to worry me. Nevermind. Just watched it.
  4. They are going to try to make it the Hunter show. We need to welcome him to the NFL.
  5. I am that guy: Preseason should be interesting- 3 games against our former starting QB...We will not know how the Jags are going to use Hunter before we play them....First four games are winnable....TMac gets to go home week 2 to Arizona crowd...Home opener third week in September?...was hoping to get New Orleans early due to QB stuff.....Tampa Bay in Florida is a tough way to end the season if we need a win for some reason.
  6. And I think that is opposite of what this team wants. No guaranteed money--I'd still sign him and give him a shot to beat out the fourth safety (Dont think he will).
  7. Yeah--same with CB and T. When Scott was a Bengal, I thought he was a decent to good player--I didn't think about it much--but I think they gave him a fairly good contract.
  8. The position that still bothers me is OT. Moton's knee means BC or Nijman play RT. (Or Cade Mays--people don't realize this, but he played some T in college, is 6'5" and has over 34 inch arms. Ok, back to safety. I think we are set until camp reveals more.
  9. I think--and this is wild speculation based on their comments and decisions--that a free safety type may not see the field unless they go dime. At which time, I see how a FS could be very valuable.
  10. I sorta hope we go with Moehrig and Ransom--veteran and rookie. I also think they are somewhat high on Richardson. We re-signed Scott to an minimal, non-guaranteed contract for insurance. We have 3 UDFA safeties on the roster. I think THEY THINK we are set.
  11. He sure is getting a lot of love for a sixth rounder. I see the potential. I love our WR room now....Love it. Love it more than a man should. I am waiting for the focus to turn to Ransom--if you consider value and round, I am more excited about Princely and Ransom that I am any other picks. I also like the TE room. They are going to surprise some folks.
  12. When the Pelicans were temporarily owned by the NBA in 2019, they had a 6% chance of winning the lottery. Remarkably, obviously an act of diving intervention, they won the lottery. This increased the value of the Pelicans.
  13. I see it this way--XL was raw. Raw players when drafted who are forced to start immediately are very raw players in the NFL-- How is he helped? TMac will shift the focus of the defense away from XL. XL will be more experienced. He will have an offseason of jugs work. He is a very good athlete. He can only get better. Wallace? Same thing. He will get better with an improved defensive front and the addition of these heat-seeking head hunters at S. I think about the players we will have on defense in 2025 that we did not have in 2024. Derrick Brown. DE Brown III NT Wharton DE Jones Edge Moehrig S Princely. Edge Scourton. Edge Ransom. S Cam Jackson NT Roseboom LB While we may not know what we have, we know what we don't have--
  14. Must be sweet to play a position when you have former players at the position--studs---there to help you along. Morgan, Luke, TD--wow.
  15. when it does, they will increase the number of games to 18.
  16. Each team plays 17 games. I do not see why they don't just have each team play one international game per year. Neutral site game, 8 home, 8 away.
  17. and his usage will be intertwined with the safeties' usage. I kinda see what they might be doing. Send Moehrig and play Ransom deep, using Wallace covering the TE. Send Wallace, Moehrig in coverage, Ransom deep. Send Ransom and Wallace, Moehrig in coverage....Not sure exactly what it will look like, but keeping Horn was important. He is the shutdown CB that can cover in man. Jackson may need help over the top, so the need for a free safety that can read the entire field is not necessary; play deep third behind Jackson and the #2 WR. Just brainstorming--no need for an umbrella when I do that.
  18. Yep. I had 2 shoulder surgeries (same shoulder) in college. What you say is true because the joint is a ball-in-socket joint and not like a knee, which is a hinge joint. Another reason (this from my orthopedic surgeon) it is more difficult to overcome is because people want and need to walk, so they are constantly rehabbing the knee. You can protect the shoulder and avoid using it. And you can play with a banged up shoulder because it does not reduce your game speed much. As long as I kept my arm in tight (close to my rib cage) I was fine--but when I extended my arm, I felt vulnerable and it was weaker, it seemed. A shoulder issue was common with LBs. I don't recall seeing a LB in the dressing room without a surgical scar on is shoulder.
  19. there seems to be a change or two in his personnel preferences. For example, the safeties. Another example: the smallish NTs are out and 330 is back!
  20. This is a good story--I LOVED his dad as a person and player--I talked to him at an OTA (he was back for his second stint) and he was talking about Moore (the WR from Wake Forest) being so young. I was with my teenage son and told him, "This is Taylor. He and I attended the OTAs when you were in Rock Hill as a rookie." He jokes, "Was he in diapers then?" and laughed. I imagine Moose III was in diapers when we chatted that day. So I really would love for this to work out. However, his stats do not suggest he was anything special in college.
  21. I guess there are signs. The combination of the turf toe, hamstring, and knee issues led to questions about his long-term health and affected his draft stock, causing him to fall to the second round. Here is what I know about a knee injury. It changes nearly every aspect of your lower body movement. So the turf toe and hamstring could be related. It makes him seem injury prone. I guess the knee was not the most recent injury, so the others could have been a result of favoring the knee. Johnson did not run the 40 at the combine or pro day. That suggests there is something he feels might drop his value. So if you downplay the severity of the injury, have a history of possibly related injuries, and refuse to demonstrate (when given multiple opportunities) that you are fully recovered, don't get mad when your stock drops.
  22. I saw something where Will Johnson said that he will "make the league pay" for passing over him. He wanted a team to pay full price for potentially damaged goods. I recently did not buy a 2023 Honda Odyssey because I did a CarFax and determined that it had been in a rather severe accident the year before. The salesman (the car's agent) failed to mention it. He was trying to get nearly full retail on the book value, and I passed on him and the car. It may be fine. It may be a great car and take a happy family to Disneyland one day. I was not passing on the car's present ability, I was passing on the increased risk that there would be a problem that resulted from this damage in the future.
  23. Joe Person working on his next piece of Journalism. In fairness to Joe, Morgan was deceptive and tight lipped this year. And I think Graham would have been the pick had he fallen.
