I will say it again---I will take the Panthers vs. the field in an Avatar bet. I will take a bet that requires the loser to use the avatar of the winner's choice until the first preseason kickoff. (as long as it is somewhat tasteful like my current avatar). I seriously think the Panthers will pay more that three firsts, a second, and 2 established players. Not saying that is what I would do---I am saying that I smell desperation and so does Houston.

Next Man Up!...Are the Answers Already on the Roster?
MHS831 replied to Michael G's topic in Carolina Panthers
I am looking forward to seeing what Henderson, Taylor can do at CB when given the chance. Did sitting a year help Pride? Don't forget, Horn will be our first rounder this year. Isn't it time to play Kenny Robinson at FS and Chinn at SS? I want to see what Deonte. Brown can do at RG. Will Tremble take another step at TE? I think they are planning on it. Can Chubba possibly become a solid part of a rotation at RB? I think we really need to see what Shi Smith and Marshall can give us at WR--even if it means trading Moore or Anderson. On the defensive side of the ball, Gross Matos needs to step up at DE. What do we have in Nixon? Play him more-especially if we trade Brown. I think Hartsfield has developed into a decent nickel. From what I can tell, most of the players I just mentioned flashed in 2021, but Rhule was too busy trying to save face he did not seem to notice. -
James Campen #1 signing this offseason, so far.

We have normalized this clown show so much that his antics aren't even shocking anymore. -
The Panthers have a lot of leaks coming from our staff
MHS831 replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Of course, we are considered the front runners for Watson because we are leaking and the press is reporting it--but am I hoping that we do not sign Watson--yes--but there is this: What will this front office do if we do not get Watson? They will go after the next Darnold. -

Going out on a limb here--are they trying to discourage other teams or send Watson a message by telling the league they are willing to overpay? I am trying to make it all make sense. -

Let me say this (or type this, to be accurate): I am so certain that Tepper is behind this, not Rhule, and he is tired of looking like an idiot. Hired Rhule, they brought in Bridgewater, Darnold, Cam---paid CMC a ton to sit on IR, etc. I think we are getting Watson and I think Tepper is going to go full retard to do it. So talk about the draft is a bitter process for me to consider right now. Day 3 maybe. CONSOLATION PRIZE: I would say this--for those of you, like me, who do not want Watson because it will take a lot to get him and because he is an accused sex maniac--only about half of the NFL's first rounders don't bust. So if you are looking at three firsts, think of it as 1.5 studs. Look at our own roster--Thompson, CMC, Brown, Burns, Horn---I mean, there is not a ton of production there--significant production, but how many pro bowlers? 1.

Hell, you can have 1 thread for all things Watson but the Huddle bottom feeders get a hold of it and they start personally attacking posters instead of offering relevant news and fact-based insights and derail the thread--the Watson thread is 37 pages and nothing has happened--that is not news on there-it is mostly nonsense. When I last read it, they were attacking someone's opinion by going after his background---wtf? I think a better policy is to simply include Watson's name in the thread and if you do not want more Watson banter, do not click. About this thread---I think Rhule is not behind this and his status as a coach is not something Tepper is that concerned about. If they met, Rhule probably said, "You can't win in this league without a QB." Tepper said, "Done."

Hard to say--they played the C at G a lot or at C flanked by two mouth-breathing doorknob humpers. The LT, as a rookie, played 4 OL positions and looked a bit lost a lot. The RG was on Jenny Craig's deluxe plan and they refused to play him for most of the season. Our LG is most famous for surrending the hit that ruined Burrow's rookie season. He was the weakest link on a weak unit in Cincy. So we really do not know what we have, and Rhule all but admitted that at the combine when he talked about BC--the guy who he has claimed to be a G due to his short arms---playing LT. Moton balled.

which leads us to Rhule's comments about Brady at the combine--- -

You are right--our OL always seems to have multiple question marks--in this case right now, we'd have 4--can Elf handle center? BC at LT, Brown at G? ???? at RG? -
There was a shady attorney involved in this-- full disclosure--I was born in Columbia when my father was playing Football for the Gamecocks--so I am not a homer supporting a Tiger.

If he can make a LT out of BC, a decent C out of Elflein, then we need 1-2 guards. Can he develop Jordan? I doubt he is more than a backup. D. Brown? There could be a RG there. -
Forgot about them. They have experience with all-pro QBs who have been accused of sexual assault.

I am under the impression that his contract gives him the power to veto any trade if he does not like it.

Watson will want to go to Tampa Bay or New Orleans or maybe Indy, but the Texans will want to trade with the Panthers or Seahawks.

the issue about willis is on tepper's wrist. how much time has he given rhule? if 22 is the year he must produce, they will sell the farm for the prized cow (watson). (Just don't try to milk that cow--it gets him in trouble.)

Sounds like Tampa Bay

I am trying to work out the big picture--and the more I try, the more I don't like it. The Lions had a good QB for years and sucked--is that the goal?
