All the fans that want to tank, you guys are all in on Stroud?
MHS831 replied to GoobyPls's topic in Carolina Panthers
Of course they did- but watch TV on National Signing day and count the Alabamas and Ohio States. If you have better players, it makes the QB better--not debatable. So you are saying, 'Since Oregon and LSU had good players too..." The difference is slight, but there is a difference. Are you saying that Oregon and LSU have equal or better teams than Alabama, OSU, and Georgia? I am just saying that you'd think the best schools would produce the best QBs--but when you see them play in perfect conditions with the advantage. How did Stroud do when he fell behind vs. Michigan? He was not used to that. OSU was favored by a TD, and they had no answers. He was not used to playing from behind. He was not used to facing a D with their ears pinned back. He had a good game--don't get me wrong--but he also had 2 picks. I hope you are right. We need a good young QB--my point is simply buyer beware if you are shopping for an OSU qb. They are used to ideal conditions. -

It is sort of a Chicken or Egg thing--the school recruits a player that best fits their system--not always a good fit for the NFL--but the NFL is starting to adapt. If a school has top QB talent and they are drafted early every year and they all bust, there is a reason that these players' stock is high--I mean, give me the OSU stable of RBs and WRs--the OL--the fact that every game you are 10+ point favorites--perfect conditions. It is a good argument--but you are not measuring the school, you are measuring the variables in which that player performs. -

Burrow went to LSU when he could not beat out Haskins and won a title. Josh Allen is from Wyoming. Lamarr Jackson? Louisville. Jones? Duke. There are some Bama QBs starting to make some noise, but not as much noise as one might expect. -

Personally, I think there should be a "buyer beware" tag on any QB from Bama, Clemson (until recently), Georgia, Ohio State etc. because they have the better players around them. They rarely play from behind. They have WRs who get open and make plays. They are auditioning in ideal circumstances in which they have all the advantages. -

Don't sell yourself short. That is a damn nice keyboard. I agree with this. and even though these QBs are scouted, interviewed, weighed and measured in workouts/combine/pro day, etc. most first round QBs bust. -

OK, but that school had Joe Burrow, and decided to go with Haskins. That is the school, not the player. The reason? Burrow did not fit their system as well. If an elite NFL QB does not fit the system, then the school is recruiting for their system and that does not necessarily equate to an ideal NFL QB--that is the school and the kind of players that school recruits. OSU usually has the better OL, the better WRs, TEs, and the better Defense. I would say that is true 10 games a season. There may not be a better system in which to play QB--maybe Alabama or Georgia compares. And are we really going to measure a player on 5 games--but I agree that Fields is starting to show that he has broken the OSU curse. -

Ohio State has been a great program under 4 different coaches over the past 20 years or so. Name their best NFL QB ever. I'll wait over here. -
Article: "Teams should not wear black jerseys"
MHS831 replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
The Patriots, Steelers, Vikings, Bills, and Cowboys, for example, are all associated with white people--and they all wear their white jerseys. The Chiefs wear red. The Browns wear brown. You may be onto something! Except a seahawk is not blue and optic green, and a falcon is not red and black, and an Eagle is not green. I am so confused--birds must be exempt. -
Geno Smith was a bust. Remember? Some times, it takes time.

Sam has had an opportunity to learn for a year. He now has an OL. Get him a TE threat, and he could be good. Let's watch the rest of the season with an open mind. I am not optimistic, but the Broncos have a good defense.

Punt on first down. Our defense has a better chance of scoring.

He will turn them into a powerhouse, and they will, in a strange scheduling blunder, defeat the Panthers 23-12 during the 2025 season. The Panther head coach at the time, Mac Brown (age 75), will have his life support plug pulled after the game by Tepper, who then announces that he is moving the team to Munich and changing the mascot to the German Shepherds. The rest of my crystal ball is foggy. I am off work today--can you tell?

Overnight. Went from a T Rex to an orangutan.

You forgot these: Keep your seat. I'll find my way out.

But what if I don't start dumb ass threads every time I have a thought? I thought you might get upset if I stole your MO. But you are welcome to visit my home any time you like. I can always use a good laugh.

PFF grades from Panthers v Falcons (week10)
MHS831 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I see no growth in YGM. Unfortunately. I watch him, and I do not see the hustle. I recall a play vs. the Bengals, I think, where the DL were chasing a back to the sideline on YGM's side. D. Brown passed YGM to get to the back first. -
I say we trade Chubba Hubbard for Josh Allen--straight up. Who's with me?

How bad does PJ need to play to be removed as starter?

PJ had a few interception drops last night--could have been a disaster -
Give me the black helmets over the silver any day. The silver look too much like New England.

He is at his peak age for a RB. He is likely to drop in value moving forward, but he will want to be paid on this year's production. Buyer beware.
