  1. without Brown, they can average 5 yards per carry
  2. Off topic: Instead of doing player introductions at the stadium today, would it be faster to introduce the spectators? Just a thought.
  3. If Bryce continues to suck and we land the #1 overall pick, can you imagine Panther nation if they drafted a CB/WR hybrid and not an Edge or QB? If they said, "Oh, we are getting a QB and edge, just not right now--later in the draft. By the way, PSLs go on sale today!!"
  4. He has only done that once in his life, when he and his right hand got into an argument--it turns out the differences were reconcilable.
  5. Gonna happen. Most if not all NFL teams in our situation would take a QB.
  6. And what do you do about edge/OLB? We have average and developmental.
  7. There is a method to your madness. I just think it is sad we are talking draft during week 2. They will go after a QB come hell or high water.
  8. Beck. Beck. Beck. No seriously--I was predicting what THEY will do. The trade back is not a bad idea for this very point. As of right now, I see the three everyone talks about in the top 10, but neither in the top 5. Sanders is very tempting, but under pressure from Nebraska, he looked mortal. He needs a clean pocket, but when he has it, he is deadly. Is he an NFL QB? probably. Ewers? I like his mental toughness, but he and Beck are mid first rounders right now. I also see several QBs who, by the end of the season, could be in the first round talk. If these develop into viable options, I think we trade back and take a Milroe, Dart, Ward, etc. I like Dart right now, but his decision-making is bad at times--Canales could fix that. I am really watching dark horse Donovan Smith of Houston. He has the tools, just has not put it all together yet. So to answer your question: Yes, we could trade back--I could see a trade back to about 10, but when that pick rolls around, we are taking a QB. With the additional pick, we will grab an edge. I see your point, but does Hunter offer early to mid first round talent if he plays one side of the ball? Regardless, my statement was not what I would do, I was stating what they will do. Their jobs are on the line. They will take a QB and an edge before a WR or DB, in my opinion.
  9. I see your point, but if we pick #1, we will take a QB again. I also think we have to get an edge early.
  10. not ready to throw Canales away when he inherited this mess. I see him as a coach who could be here a long time.
  11. I was out for a power walk yesterday and I bumped into a neighbor who graduated from Ohio State (he lives beside a Penn State graduate, so I have fun with that). He reminded me about the draft, "I remember you telling me that the Panthers need to draft Stroud but they were leaning Young. I know you must be really pissed off right now." I told him, "We are the only NFL team in the league that takes a juice box out to the huddle during time outs. ...He is too short to ride 30% of the rides at Carowinds...he has one chicken wing for dinner...When he breaks a team rule he is not fined, but he is grounded.
  12. they shoulda started with this, then added stripes, logos, facemask and chin strap. Boom.
  13. It needs a facemask. then it would be cool.
  14. I was watching the NFL Network's Good Morning Football and the Panthers are officially a punchline.
  15. we had options. how can they be so wrong? Sounds like they have yes men around tepper. you need a round table where nobody outranks anyone else during the discussions
  16. when he hired morgan....i wondered, morgan could be great, but the odds that he was the best option were low
  17. Please explain this response. Not sure what you mean. I can explain, but I am not going to include pictures. As the QB runs forward in the pocket (as opposed to sitting back and planting the back foot in his drop) it disrupts the weight distribution behind the throw. QBs are trained to plant the foot at the end of their drop, step toward the target and throw as the weight transfers from back to front. When running forward, weight transfer is totally different. When that happens, the ball can sail. Cam used to throw high for the same reason. (Buhaahaaa?) Not sure what the punch line was, but does this help you? Need a source? I have them, but my job is not to educate you. You have a Google machine and probably McDonald's free internet. LMAOOOO
  18. when a QB is running forward and they throw the ball, it tends to sail, so a smart qb throws it low--incomplete is the worst outcome.
  19. We had to give bryce the benefit of the doubt. We gave him an OL, WRs, etc. I did not know where he was developmentally and assumed that he would be able to pick up on blitzes, had better footwork, and would be getting the ball out on time. NOPE.
  20. I said yes and here is why--we either get Bryce right by the end of the season or we draft #1. Pulling him and having Dalton win 5 games leaves us with a top 10 pick (maybe). We could trade up, but we need an edge, probably a WR, S, and maybe DT in addition to QB. If the light comes on and he improves each week, we could still win 5-6 games and might decide that Bryce is good enough to enter year 3---I doubt it and hope not. It really depends on how bad he sucks, however. Furthermore, adding Dalton will help identify areas that need upgrading. I saw Sanders talking to Bryce on the sideline. They shook hands but it seemed as if Bryce was shell shocked and possibly tearing up. A little more preseason action might have helped.
