  1. The Bears had a good reason--they have a ton of cap room, and Fields is in year 3, his "make or break" year. They needed a player now, not in 2025. The Panthers, on the other hand, need cap space and, frankly, would never get a first round draft pick in a trade for Moore--maybe a second or third. I They have some young WRs who could be turning the corner (Marshall, Smith) and I think they will add one in the draft and in free agency.
  2. If we take Young or Stroud, I think they might start day 1. Not ideal, but they could. Maybe we sign a veteran, but I would not trade Corral.
  3. If we traded DJ Moore, do you think we'd have been offered a first rounder? I do not. Maybe a second or third. I have been reading your posts, and you represent the other side of the coin that we will be tossing--you are not wrong, but you are not right either--we shall see.
  4. The TE market is going to be cheaper because the draft is so solid at TE. I am thinking someone like Foster Moreau from Vegas--he can be had for $8m and some change. There is some WR talent in this draft in round 2.
  5. I was glad to see #39 preserved. I figured we'd lose it and keep #61
  6. Save that move for another day, Pilgrim. Enjoy the moment sitting in your recliner unencumbered by protrusions.
  7. If you did not think the Panthers were going to be aggressive, you were not paying attention. Losing Moore hurts, but so would losing a first and second in 2025. I think we can replace Moore. Most people were bitching about losing 3 firsts, and now you are bitching about Moore. Don't get it. The Bears also need DL and OL, I think. They could have gone after Brown or Moton. It was a great deal for the Bears--it was a great deal for Carolina. They are not done, perhaps, so we shall see.
  8. Irony: If DJ Moore kept his helmet on in Atlanta, he is still a Panther. Discuss.
  9. yes. He should be there, but he had a good combine, so he could go earlier that 39
  10. I am sure this will be stated later, but DJ was $20m vs the cap and the Bears had a ton of cap room. So we can replace him in the draft and use the $$ in free agency
  11. He is a good LB--not great---and not worth the salary this year. I figured they would have to do this--heard they were pretty far apart on an extension agreement or something like that.
  12. What a careless, stupid mistake. "Sorry guys..." my ass. Everyone is so eager to break stories they bang their phones before they verify.
  13. When I think of the person who is a student of the game and can process quickly, Young is the guy. Nothing against Stroud--Stroud might be the most cerebral QB (meaning more reliant on his brain and less reliant on his athleticism) Ohio St QB in a very long time. Stroud reads defenses, and running is not as much of an option as it was with Fields and those before him--I could be wrong--just my take.
  14. That last line, about going to play superman, might be any of them--but you could be right. I doubt they are going to say anything that would reveal who they are picking, but there are the tea leaves.
  15. It hurts, but you have to do it. It really is the only reason I was in tank mode this year. Winning a meaningless game is like getting a Valentine from the ugliest girl in third grade. When you are an adult.
  16. Since 2010, we have had all our first round picks. It was primarily the QB pick that propelled this team to success--Cam. Since Cam was banged up and pretty much done (2018 or so) we have had five first round picks, and they were good selections: Moore, Burns, Brown, Horn, and Ekwonu. SOLID. 3 were top 10 picks. During the last 5 years, the Panthers have gone 29-53. Those solid, top 10 draft picks were of no use without a QB. Even if it costs us three first rounders, go get the damn QB if you like him, and I think Stroud will be special. I realize there is risk and three firsts is a lot--that is why I was not cheering for Wilks in his excellent run at the end of the season. Meaningless wins vs. first round draft picks--hmmm. Which would I rather have???
  17. I think we are trading 3 firsts and maybe Shaq to the Bears for for the right to pick Stroud.
  18. I did not see this a month ago and think it is worthy of pinning. thanks
  19. Happy Birthday. I just gave you undeserved pie as a small token of acknowledgement that you aged a year. Enjoy the day.
  20. Mine is the 29th of March. I apologize in advance for the blocked roads and traffic, but the people need their parade.
  21. Our positions on Lamar and Aaron actually put pressure on the Panthers to move up. If we don't and miss out on a QB in the draft, and all we have under center is Jacoby, not going after these QBs will be a PR nightmare. I am glad we are not--both QBs have risks, and you would be paying for rep and performance established with other teams. We are going all in for Stroud or Young--I would be mildly surprised if we are not trading with the Bears soon.
