Throwing the same floaters to the sidelines.

God this is pathetic. I think Tua is Bryce’s ceiling too.
-
Tua is trash and Miami is clearly not built to win in the elements
-
Good thing Miami signed Justin Houston for this game
-
Surprised they didn’t have to include some Alabama plays to even make a highlight reel. I think there were maybe 2-3 plays the entire season that I thought were better than what you’d see on average day from an average QB.

Lost by 36 points to a 7-30 team. Lololol

I still remember specifically Ricky Williams scoring on a run play on the last play of the saints game. I also remember that team losing a huge lead against Buffalo late in the season and a two score lead against Washington. They were also competitive against the rams in Charlotte. They didn’t really quit until the last two games.

Recency bias will play a role in this response. Also some people aren’t even old enough to remember 2001. Having watched all 3 teams I never went into a game in 2001 thinking we didn’t have a chance to win. That team lost a ton of close games and was better than this year’s team and 2010. 2010 and 2023 are very close for me. I’d have to give the slight edge to this year being the worst because the 2010 roster had some talent and some of those players went on to play on the good teams between 2013 and 2016-17. From a talent standpoint, 2023 is the worst team in franchise history and would have finished 0-17 if not for two miracle drives at the end of games. Only team in league history to not hold a 4th quarter lead. Yeah, that does it for me.

They started drafting much better after the Manziel era including 2017 where they got Garrett and David Njoku in the same draft. Fitterer has spent years wasting top round picks on useless players which has set the franchise back to where it is now. Hurney got poo on but the team never fell to levels like this largely because he always hit on his first rounders and they became foundational pieces of the team. It’s no coincidence that our best player on the roster was his last first round pick. Meanwhile Fitterer brought us a guy who cant stay on the field, a left tackle as bad as Byron Bell, and an undersized QB who just completed a season where we saw next to nothing to give anyone hope for the future. Fix the front office and we can be a lot better or at least able to be competitive.

With Panthers cleaning house how safe is Bryce
BIGH2001 replied to Frank9999's topic in Carolina Panthers
Will wait to see who the new GM is. If it’s someone like Dan Morgan he’s more safe than he should be. The right answer is he’s the starter going into next season but should be evaluated critically with consideration towards moving on if there’s a repeat of this year and not much growth is shown. -
Breaking, Ian Rapoport: Fitterer Fired

This is how we end up with Dan Morgan as the new GM. -

It gives me some hope that as bad as he’s been as an owner, Tepper is still trying to make moves needed to win. The Jets are keeping Joe Douglas who has as bad a record as Fitterer for another season. If everyone here was correct and Fitterer was just a plant to feed Tepper’s ego and let him be the actual GM then he wouldn’t have made this move. -

How fondly will we remember the fitterer/Rhule and Fitterer/reich era of our franchise? -

Honestly one of the worst in NFL history given the moves he made. Probably right next to whoever was the browns GM when they were 1-31 over two seasons. This team had the potential to go 0-17 and was lucky to get two wins. -
Dan Morgan should be seriously considered for GM

Probably not -
Still hasn’t been fired yet.

I’m old enough to remember him being in here advertising his failed pizza restaurant. Is that who we want running this thing? It might be the best we can do though. -
is there a worse destination than Carolina for a GM or HC?
BIGH2001 replied to rayzor's topic in Carolina Panthers
The upside is even being average would be an improvement. The bar is low. Also, Tepper will have to give a new coach some slack due to his reputation and how the last two hires have gone. Also the division isn’t scaring anyone. its not a great job but there are still attractive things about it. My first order of business would be to make sure I had a good backup QB for when young needs to benched next season. -
This is the low point. Tied for the longest stretch of non-playoff seasons with 96-03 but by 02 we had started a turnaround and were in the supper bowl the following year. This team is comparable to 2010 but without the first round pick to draft a good QB. The 2001 team could sometimes score points and would beat this team by two touchdowns. 2010 is the closest comparison but that was an intentional tank by the front office due to the upcoming lockout and being in between franchise QBs. In hindsight it was a brilliant move. This year we actually tried to win games and had a dumbass owner and GM who somehow thought we were on the cusp of greatness. LMAO. Tepper needs to go into hiding and not be seen or heard from until about 2026.
