  1. Concession revenue, merchandise sales, etc will all suffer. Fan enthusiasm at a historical low. It will definitely send a message even if the seats are technically purchased.
  2. That would totally explain why they picked up darnold’s option before he ever played a down for us. It has nothing to do with the complete inability of this staff to evaluate players and assemble a competitive roster.
  3. I don’t think he’s guaranteed next year. A couple more games like yesterday and empty seats might force tepper to make a move. I’m not sure that our remaining home games are going to draw anywhere close to the interest from opposing fans that we’ve seen so far. Atlanta has a weak bandwagon base and Tampa fans don’t really travel. The result = lots of silver and blue on TV.
  4. This team is more comparable to 01 and 02. Years where we had an ok defense, terrible offense and little hope for the future. However 01 and 02 at least had Smith and Muhammad at WR. This is the most devoid of offensive talent I think we have ever been.
  5. Now is as good a time as any to fire Rhule.
  6. It makes sense that he wouldn’t change staff when he knows he might need them at his next college stop.
  7. Rhule is about to fug this franchise by grabbing one meaningless win in the last 5 games to ruin our draft pick again.
  8. LOL had forgotten about the Schiano era Bucs. Like with Rhule, you knew going into the game that one competent NFL coach was about to have a huge advantage on the sidelines.
  9. We always knew it was a gamble that could really pay off or blow up in our faces. It’s blowing up in our faces and no amount of “trust the process” platitudes is going to convince the majority of well-educated fans that the team is on the right track.
  10. Learning is one thing but this year’s draft was a complete bust in terms of selecting players at positions of need. Free agency wasn’t much better.
  11. What about the past two offseasons gives you any hope that they will get it right this time?
  12. We aren’t seeing progress. Are we really supposed to believe that Rhule has some master plan that involves constructing the worst offensive line in the league and bringing in two crappy QBs just to say “gotcha!” right before he goes on a huge run in year 3 and teabags all his detractors? This is the roster that he intentionally assembled. He’s had time to fix the offense and instead has made it worse. The defense is marginally better but still has glaring weaknesses. His top draft pick in the all-defense draft is trending into Vernon Butler territory. The 7 year deal for Rhule is kinda like the 5th year option for Sam. Tepper thought he had found some generational coach and he was gonna show everyone by locking him up long term at a steal. If Rhule had actually lived up to the hype and brought the franchise what his contract suggests, then 9 mil per year is on the average end of great coach’s salary and look we’ve got him locked up for 7 years! Look how smart that move was, I’m such a brilliant foreshadower!! Instead Tepper outsmarted himself and just looks like a dumbass who is as clueless as Rhule. There is no such thing as a long-term rebuild in the NFL.
  13. We were building with a franchise QB and would make the playoffs the following year. In 2012 we went 5-1 down the stretch. Rhule has 5 games left. If we got 4-1 then I might change my mind. But what are the odds of that? He’s hopelessly fuged this roster and there’s no franchise guy who can turn it around. 2012 and this year are not remotely the same situation. I’d argue this year is more akin to 2001 or 2010 where there are some pieces but not nearly enough holes filled to be competitive. If you want to be really optimistic you could compare this year to 02 and pray for a miracle pickup to become the next Delhomme and Steven Davis combo.
  14. Notice the 4 and 6 game improvements in year two. That ain’t happening here.
  15. Money is not the problem. It was a stupid mistake to hire Rhule and give him that deal but nonetheless. How can tepper sit down at the end of the season and have rhule convince him that this team is going in the right direction (assuming nothing changes moving forward)?
  16. Rhule ain’t going anywhere unless he gets fired or gets offered more than he’s making now to leave. The latter is bordering on impossible and the former probably isn’t happening this year unless we lose out (here’s hoping).
  17. I don't think the team we have now is any better than the team we had when Rivera left. They are younger but the results are just about the same.
  18. Although there's still no viable plan at QB, the offensive line has to be fixed so that we can run the ball next season. Realistically, that is the only way we are going to win with the roster that we have now. Our receivers aren't going to be scaring any defenses and we aren't gonna win through the air at this time. Run the ball, control the clock and let the defense hold up enough to win. We also need an upgrade at tight end. Can Rhule figure this out? I'm very skeptical. And yes, Brady has to go. He clearly has no feel for an NFL game.
  19. And almost everyone on this thread pegged what would happen before the game started. The easiest way to deal with this poo is to not watch or not get invested if you do watch and just laugh at the poo show. I’m hoping for blowouts the rest of the way so Rhule will have to get fired at the end of the year. I don’t want a third year of this clown.
  20. As much as we all hated Sam we knew it wasn’t all his fault. Today wasn’t all cam’s fault. Yes he played bad but he is not THAT bad. He’s probably a middle of the road QB and would be good enough with the proper pieces and coaching around him. The biggest problems are 1. Matt Rhule totally botched another offseason by ignoring the offensive line and signing the wrong players to address the issues. 2. Joe Brady has no idea how to call a game 3. Along with number 2, Joe Brady has no idea how to use the players he has. I.E. he treats Mccaffrey like he’s fuging Derrick Henry and runs him up the middle 15-20 times per game. all of this creates an environment where any QB is going to look worse than they are. Teams can just load up the box and play up at the LOS because we can’t throw deep and we aren’t going to run it down your throat. The QB in this “offense” is a sitting duck.
  21. I would love it but is there any precedent for an NFL owner selling the team unless they are forced to? It’s a huge ego thing for these guys to own a team and it’s way over my head but I’m sure there’s major tax implications as well.
  22. Many of us here knew what was up last year when we lost several very winnable games. It wasn’t all the QBs fault.
  23. They lead the league in penalties, the defense now can't stop anyone and the offense can't put together more than one good drive per game. It's a failure at all levels but definitely on the coaches who are constantly getting beaten and outschemed. We had another miserable third quarter performance today after being gifted a field goal right before halftime.
  24. I’d settle for just being competitive, forget the super bowl. It’s not working.
