Other than that we’re still playing with one hand tied behind our back at QB and our one free agent upgrade at WR has predictably turned into a diva. The rookie WRs also seem promising. I will say that there has been noticeable improvement in the 3 games where the offense has shown up with Dalton taking the snaps as opposed to Bryce. No, it’s not good enough but this team had holes at every position in the offseason and Canales needs at least one more season to show improvement. Once we suffered the injuries on defense, any hope of winning more than 3 games went out the window. I just can’t blame it on the coach yet.

If we start young we have no chance of winning an NFL game. If we start Dalton we have maybe a 20% chance of winning one of the next two.

We’ve been competent in 3/5 games that Dalton started. I’m not sure what you expect exactly. Our best QB is in his late 30s and we are his fourth stop as a backup since he last had a regular starting job. Firing a coach after one season with this roster accomplishes nothing. Are you also firing Callahan in Tennessee since he’s not doing any better?

No he probably can’t because it’s too hard for me to separate bad coaching from the roster deficiencies. That may change but it’s where I’m at now. This team is in complete tear down and rebuild mode and it’s disingenuous to pin our record on bad coaching at this point. You’re just ignoring all of the obvious talent a depth holes this team has to make a point and it’s really detracting from your argument.

There were only two offensive drives after Denver tied it at 7 and one of those started on our 1 yard line. You can’t do anything with Bryce from the 1, lol. The second one was derailed by a penalty. We won two games last year because of the defense and this was the kind of game that could have been kept close if we had last year’s team. Again the coach can’t be blamed for this collection of poo that he was handed. He deserves an offseason and a draft where we actually have a high pick to see if he can start turning things around. I don’t know if he’s the guy or not but it’s easy to see that this roster is so deficient that no amount of coaching is going to make it look good.

There isn’t anything positive to say. He’s terrible and people are pissed that we wasted years of assets for him to be on this team. fug him and his lazy ass entitled attitude. Netflix and shopping were more important to him than football this offseason. Canales hates him and I’m fairly certain that his teammates do too.

Bo Nix threw for almost 300 yards and 3 TDs. Denver did whatever they wanted when they threw the ball and if not for a couple of fumbles they probably score 42 points. The defense is historically bad. Thats not his fault this season. You can’t argue Bryce isn’t an NFL player on one hand and then on the other blame Canales for not “fixing” him. He can’t be fixed, it doesn’t matter who the coach is.

Bryce sucks. Who cares what he said publicly last January. It was reasonable to think that he could be salvaged with improved weapons. Instead he got worse and his limitations are the same as they were before. How is that Canales’s fault? Completely ignoring this horrendous defense just makes your entire post non-credible.

Answer the first question. What reputable coach will come here if we fire another one after a single season?

And who do you expect to come here if we fire yet another coach at the end of the season? Canales has to be given time to draft or sign his QB of choice this offseason and he also deserves a defense that isn’t top 2-3 worst in league history.

I think 23 and 24 play a close, ugly game if Andy gets to start against Bryce. I wonder what 23 Bryce would do against this defense.

Sounds like Bersin. Calling him the Bersin of QBs is about right.

He’s coaching like this is just an experimental year which it is. I haven’t been happy with some of his decisions but others have been fine. He’s not nearly as bad as Reich.

If you’re comparing it to his last 4 starts sure. But those were probably the worst 4 starts in NFL history. He’s not a pro QB.

There’s always a couple of those guys each year. I’m glad we actually found one. Guys like him are what we need to turn this franchise around. No “stars” will want to come here - we need players who just want an opportunity.

Coker is our most promising player in awhile.

I liked him last year but this year he’s been annoying and had some terrible takes.

Canales must be a masochist. Why is he stopping the clock?
