Panthers Select Chau Smith-Wade DB - Round 5, Pick 157
Jon Snow replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's mostly because of the later. But you gotta start somewhere. -
That would require some critical thinking. That's a rare commodity these days.

He will have to make his bones on special teams this season to make final cuts I suspect. He has some skills that might translate to this level. -
Panthers Select Chau Smith-Wade DB - Round 5, Pick 157

Not really. These late round picks are just taking flyers on players. They will look to the waiver wire and FA again to fill out other spots until next year's draft. I doubt anyone taken after the TE makes the team unless it's the practice squad. I don't think they were counting on potential starters from day three. A potential backup maybe if they get lucky. -

I'm pretty that was Dan's thought when he scouted him. -
The best ones are the comment that they've never heard of him but compare him to some other underperforming player. How do you know that if you've never heard of the guy? I swear I think people do not listen to the words coming out of their mouth.

He's definitely a dawg. He's raw though. -

I'll take it. -
Last year was on everyone. You have to let that go.
-
You need glasses.
-
Of course he won't. But barring injury or complete meltdown he will get a full season.
-
And the Panthers might just do the same if he doesn't show he's worth another season.
-
They gave up after 3 seasons with him.
-
There goes Rattler.
-
-
They could sign him as a udfa. Unless someone just has to have him and use a 7th on him. He's no threat to take anyone's job.
-
Not as short as you think or want.
-
Typically day 3 of the draft is for churning the bottom of rosters. Ours is so bad that someone might actually get to play this season.
-
They usually find 3 or 4 good players in every draft. That's why they can afford to let good players walk when they want big contracts. It's a bold strategy so you better have an eye for talent.

Panthers Select Ja'Tavion Sanders TE - Pick 101, Round 4
Jon Snow replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
It certainly will take it up another level. -
Panthers Select Jonathan Brooks RB - 46th Pick, Round 2
Jon Snow replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
I doubt anyone trades for any of our current RB's. Brooks is Sanders replacement in waiting. The only thing that Sanders has left to hope for is to beat out Chubba for a spot. -
They decided who was a better scheme fit for them just like the Panthers did. The Bills were going to trade down with someone and Dan wanted his guy. If the Bills had stayed put we would have also. Dan didn't want to risk the Bills trading with someone who was going to take Legette. It's that simple.

Panthers Select Ja'Tavion Sanders TE - Pick 101, Round 4

RAS scores are fine as long as the tape backs it up. But focusing solely on RAS scores can be misleading. -
I doubt it. The first time he drops a pass it will be he's a bum and a bust.
