Yeah he has everything against him right now. His biggest problem is a crappy roster and little assets to change it. No amount of Rah Rah speeches can overcome that. Most fans will get all hyped up thinking he will turn it around this year and we have a shot to make the playoffs. When it doesn't happen he will be enemy #1, especially if Bryce continues to suck.

That I agree with. You will see some fight at first. How long they will retain the will to fight after the loses start to pile up is another thing.

It won't be next season.

Rumor of Burns traded to Baltimore (probably baseless rumor)
Jon Snow replied to JawnyBlaze's topic in Carolina Panthers
You would. -
I admire your dedication. Who knows? Anything is possible.

Brandt Tilis hire official - Executive VP of Football Operations
Jon Snow replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Where he and Dan start investing cap money will go a long way in turning this team around. This team is in no shape or form of handing franchise money to anyone. It's way to void of talent to pay $30M contracts in one player. They need multiple players for that money. Or they can continue the Marty Hurney way and tie up cap in one player hoping they live up to it. -

Reading comprehension is your friend. -
It's best to not get excited about any of this. This team is a couple of seasons away from knowing how any of these moves will pan out.

As long as you pay their salary during this hiatus I'm sure they wouldn't complain too much.
-
Probably looking for compensation for his services most likely.

Any idea of what Young is doing in the offseason to improve?
Jon Snow replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
I really cannot understand what the plan was when they drafted him. His size added so many challenges to a rookies development as it was. His throwing velocity was only a couple mph lower than Stroud's, but you cannottell it. His deep throw was about 7-10 yards less than Stroud's. I think 55 compared to about 65 air yards, but it looks much worse. His mechanics, or throwing motion was all over the place, but he was the most pro ready, supposedly. Not to mention the size difference. It's like his off script plays out weighed everything else. Whatever they were thinking it certainly didn't work out. -
When is Coach Canales introductory press conference?
Jon Snow replied to philw5289's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not sure I can stomach listening to anything he has to say anymore. I would rather he never show his face again to be honest. Pay the bills. Show up at the game and stay in his suite. Other than that he can piss off. -
A 1st round pick for his services and his contract sounds fair to me.
-
Will be watching this.
-
I haven't been following it so you have me at a disadvantage. Then Washington doesn't have anything to bitch about.
-
Maybe he didn't invite them to fly up in the first place? There's 2 sides to this.

When is Coach Canales introductory press conference?
Jon Snow replied to philw5289's topic in Carolina Panthers
To be honest I have no expectations for this team. I'm just going to watch to see what happens in the offseason. Rookie coaches are talking several years to show whether they know what they are doing or not. Take the hype articles for what they are. They real test will show up if they can draft well and sign wisely in FA. It's not happening next season no matter what. -
Joe getting his coaches mixed up?

Why carolina can not* afford to lose Burns
Jon Snow replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
No, they do not need to extend him. Let him go somewhere else and get his money. He is a waste of assets here. -

Where we are is rock bottom. We either stay there or decide we've had enough and climb out of this pit of dispare. I just hope to be the best of the worst teams next season. Is that too much to ask? -

Good, maybe they can get something out of him after all. This team cannot afford him nor should they try to. -
I'm not sure continuity on defense is a good thing. From my perspective Evero and his team should be released. Better yet try to trade Evero for a pick. But keeping him on when he was passed over for the HC job is asking for trouble. He would not intentionally cause trouble but there will be a division among players for sure.

Don't ask me! Those were Frank's words.
-
Pretty much. He was more of a mentor to Frank, per his own words. How did that work out Frank?
-
I'm sure we would take a 1st round pick next year for him.
