Exactly, it's a completely different approach form the last dip sh*ts that ran the show.

The right system matters for QB's as you well know. It can make are break a promising prospect. If Sam's not mentally damaged beyond repair then oh well, it didn't cost that much to take a flyer on him. Hell, the way Fits is going about this thing in the end we may get that 2nd back and it wouldn't have cost us anything but time invested in trying him out. It's the perfect situation to be in for the team if you ask me.

Bingo! If the teams were smart they would have their own inhouse investigators to keep an eye on these guys to help keep their freak flag from flying in the streets so to speak. Am ounce of prevention yada yada.
-
I cannot put a grade on this approach until the games are played this season. But personally I like what they are doing with this approach. Whether it produces the results they were going for will be determined when the season is over.

Matt Rhule “I thought Scott was masterful today”
Jon Snow replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bingo! I'm starting to see what part of the "process" involves. I'm intrigued to see how this translates to the field. -
Round 3(b) - Carolina Panthers Select Notre Dame TE Tommy Tremble
Jon Snow replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Put his ass on a jugs machine everyday. That's how you fix that issue. -
If he can repair his imagine enough to get traded here I'm sure Tepper will hire all the "pro" masseuses he desires. Hell he might hire one for the whole team. I'm not apposed to a little freaky deaky as long as it's consensual. Any, to get the thread back on track. I think Sam will look much better this season. Saddle up Ghost Rider!!!

I'm just saying that when the dust settles, whenever that is, the FO is going hard after him. Unless of course he is guilty as charged.

Round 3(a) - Carolina Panthers Select BYU OT Brady Christensen
Jon Snow replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
The arm length measurable thing is such an overrated stat in my book. If the guy can hold his block 3-5 seconds consistently, he's good enough. The QB has to get the dam ball out faster. All he has to be is strong, mean and can hold his own. The kid should be able to do the well enough. We shall see. -
Also, I wouldn't count them out for going after Watson. The intrigue is alive and well in Carolina feller's

If Rhule can get Sam's head right he just might be salvageable. He's definitely in a much better situation here. It's your last chance to show the league you are not a bust Sam.

Round 3(a) - Carolina Panthers Select BYU OT Brady Christensen

Not on the NFL network. No commercials at all. -
Glad I ate and smoked a bowl. Wait, it went bowl, ate, another bowl. Yeah, I'm digging this draft. I told you fools earlier today to get aboard the crazy train brother. Que Ozzy Osbourne in 5,4,3,2,1...
-
I haven't read this thread since page 34, mildly following the draft on tv so...fill me in on what's happened? Just the cliff notes, thank you in advance.

The defense is looking much improved as each level is getting an infusion of overdue upgrades. Where that is headed I cannot fully decipher at the moment. The offense should have by all reasonable evaluation been well ahead of the defense in talent last year. Then reality hit as the games unfolded that two of the most important positions on offense were much further away from improvement than first thought. So now they are stuck trying to make chicken salad out of chicken sh*t. I'm just as intrigued as you about the direction the roster is going. All aboard the crazy train my friend!

I think we may be trying to set the record.

I'm proud of those hamsters last night. But the weekend is just getting started so the test is not over yet. Hopefully the huddle GM's shot their wad last night and the rest of us amateurs can enjoy some intelligent conversation the rest of the draft.

Exactly. The risk of losing a top prospect was too great to not get a much better offer to offset the loss. I like that approach myself. They are playing chess, not pickup sticks.
-
It appears Moton does not want to change positions and the current regime is good with that. That's the only thing I can think of with the situation. Now if he is wanting LT money to stay at RT then someone has to compromise.
-
If we were at 11 you may have a point. At 8? Not enough to move back to where the Bears were and still get one of their top 2 or 3 top rated players still left on their board to make it worth it.
-
The smoke screen was to help them get a hall of picks if their top target didn't get to them I'm sure. They stuck to their board in the end because the value offered to move back and not risk missing out on getting one of guys they wanted.

Round 1 - Carolina Panthers Select CB Jaycee Horn
Jon Snow replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
They are already call him a bust before he even suits up. -
I would love to see that myself. I'm sure that they had a contingency plan if that happened. They tried to get a trade done that they could live with that would keep them within the top 15 that would still give the a chance to take either Horn or someone else they had in their top 15 or 16 and add some more picks. I think we got one of the top 3 needed positions addressed at least.
-
Love Jaycee Horn and he was third on my board, but...
Jon Snow replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
Exactly. And don't assume that they put their chips all in on Darnold. He will get his shot at showing he can help them win. They are not done with the QB position by any means. Nor are the done with the OL issues. -
That is how is supposed to work and I think we finally have the right balance to do a better job of building a consistently competitive team. Time will tell I suppose. I do know that I personally think that this approach will pay off when it's all said and done. I just wish Tepper had hired Fits a year or two sooner.
