I think they did all that in practice against them. At least that is the impression I'm getting. This game and most of the next will feature the 2's and 3's in an attempt to get the depth right. I expect you will see the starters a bit in the next game. Assuming they make it through the practices with the Ravens.

They must be getting them in the joint practices against that teams ones. That's all I can think off.

Apparently it's a thing now. A lot of teams are doing it. Most are opting to do joint practices and hold the starters the first preseason game to compensate for not having 4 preseason games.

I agree with this. It seems they really want a vet at the helm right now. I'm still not sold they are all in on Darnold being the answer. I think at minimum they view him as a bridge for a few years that can keep them above 0.500 until they get whatever qb they looking for. If Darnold can be that then great. But the backup position needs a lot of work. Or I could be speaking out my ass because I've misread the whole situation.
