Locked on Panthers: Why the Panthers should pay Derrick Brown
Jon Snow replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
If you think the run defense is bad now let Brown walk and see what happens. -
Don't waste your time. Just put him on ignore like most sane folks do around here.

Locked on Panthers: Why the Panthers should pay Derrick Brown

A blind man can see that. -
I believe in building from the center out. Get the best you can find at each position on the offensive line and never be satisfied that you cannot possibly find an upgrade for any of them. In other words, never pass up the chance to get better on the oline. Because when they suck everyone looks like shyte.

And they were right.

Exactly.

Chinn is in essence a bust. We drafted him with no idea what to do with him and therefore he got little to no playing time. Why was he drafted in the first place? Because he's an athlete with no role in the defense. That my friend is a wasted draft pick and essentially a bust as far as we are concerned. Move on and let someone else figure out what to do with him.

No to Burns. I would let him walk before I give him another contract. The defense would not miss a beat without him.
-
He had 2 things going against him from the jump. 1. He was drafted by Fitterer. 2. Rhule never wanted him in the first place. As a bonus he wasn't very good to begin with.

I would say the odds are in your favor.

Henning was smart enough to use what he had and allow them to play to their strengths. He truly knew how to design an offense around the players he had.

I liked Deshaun but he wasn't the best RB on the team that year. Deshaun had his moments no doubt but look up Steven Davis's highlights if you want to see some down hill running man. That dude was hard to stop when he got a full head a steam. He also had a unique running style that looked like he was taking half strides when ran. I love me some Steven Davis. That dude was a tree trunk.

If you're betting on the Panthers to win anything next season you just might have a gambling problem.

In a deep qb class should the panther take one day 3?
Jon Snow replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
It will be crucial for their success. The saying "you build through the draft" is a proven fact. You use free agency to fill in a hole or 2 AFTER you have a consistent playoff caliber team. You cannot build a consistent playoff caliber team with high priced FA's and a bunch of scrubs. -

This team wasted so many draft picks thinking they were ready to compete. Granted the draft is a crap shoot but you need as many shots at the pool as you can get, especially when you suck at drafting anyway. You don't start throwing money at high priced FA's when the majority of the roster should not even be on the team. I feel like I'm talking to crazy people. -
Gotta go with number 1. Shanahan had the game in hand despite the special teams blunder. Had he ran the ball more and ate up more clock he had a much better chance of winning in regulation. He lost the game in the 4th quarter by taking the game out of CMC's hands.

I'm more interested in seeing who the team is sniffing around and how this year will be different than the last one.

We need high draft picks in every round and will need as many of them as they can get. They will earn them naturally as long as they face the reality that this team is not a win now team. They are not just 1 or 2 players away from the playoffs. They are 40 to 50 players away and should operate as such. -
Shanahan blew the game in regulation. He passed when he should have stuck with the run game. Terrible clock management.

I here "it's a deep qb class" nearly every draft season. The truth is that there is really only 1 that has a real chance of making it in the nfl each year, if that. Talent will only get you so far in this league. Coaching and system has a lot to do with player success. The Panthers missed on all 3 last season. -
You would know sweetie

Fowler, Graziano: Panthers want to re-sign Frankie Luvu
Jon Snow replied to BlueBuck24's topic in Carolina Panthers
Smart move. Hope it's not for a Hurney level contract but he is a baller. -
