Is he young and cheap? No? Better keep looking in the bargain bin.

So which one of you hillbillies is Forrest Quinn?
Jon Snow replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Interesting fact noone cares about. I live near the guy who was the actor in Deliverance who uttered the famous line "you got a perty mouth". He passed away recently however. Was famous in these here parts and was as friendly a person as you could ever meet. I would see I'm in the grocery store now and then and he would be on one of those scooters that old people ride getting groceries. He had a pet squirrel he kept with him that would ride on his shoulders as he shopped. The kids always wanted to touch the squirrel for some reason. He would dress the part wherever he went and would sign his autograph for anyone who remembered him from the movie. Nice man who just got lucky when Hollywood rolled into town. -
A better offensive system can help. But he does have to step up dramatically as well. You have to start drafting these now and often. The skill position players are pointless if you do not improve this OL. It like putting expensive wheels on a POS automobile.

I sure hope you are right. I do not want here any current players are extend other the Derek Brown and Luvu. I will be sick to my stomach if the keep Burns because I know it will be wasted money.

Getting Crunch Time for the Panthers and Brian Burns
Jon Snow replied to 45catfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
You cannot say the defense is on the field too much because of the crappy offense and claim the defense doesn't get enough opportunities to make plays. You want to force them to pass so you can tee off? Stop them from running on you. You cannot stop the run? Then stop whining and gtfo. -
We need guards way worse at the moment. Icky will look like a LT if the qb can step up in the pocket.

Hell no! I'd rather ride with Andy Dalton this year and start over in 2025 than to see that goober in a Panthers jersey for 1 minute.

When you have to dig that hard to find a positive for keeping a player you've already lost. He benefits from whatever pressure Derek Brown can create up the middle. Except Derek hardly ever comes off the field. Burns gets to rest his ass on the sidelines every other play. In the meantime Brown is out there making tackles because everyone else seems to be adverse to doing. -

That is the lamest justification for extending him that I have ever heard of. So he's kig of the almost sacks. If he could only get those qbs from moving he would win 100% of the time. I also need them to stop running the ball so I can get more chances at a sack. Because I suck a stopping the run. Yeah that screams a player you should hang into. -
If you expect him to be the entire offense then you are going to be disappointed. Being the 1st player selected is not a reason to expect that he could make a up for everyone's else's responsibilities. Will he even make it in the nfl? I have no clue. He had zero chance last season. I doubt his situation it will improve much this season so I have little faith he will. But I have no faith that this team has or will improve in any aspect anytime soon so there's that.

Getting Crunch Time for the Panthers and Brian Burns

Wins what? A missed tackle? I have not seen him win anything. If he were everything y'all said he is then why the lack of opportunity? Is our defense so good we don't need him all the time? I'm not sure what you are trying to prove? -

Pulling any stat you can find to justify paying him. So now it's lack opportunities as the reason he's underperformed. You guys are so desperate to carry his water. Maybe the reason he's not on the field is because he's not what you think he is. If the team needs a pass rusher why would the pull all world Burns off the field so much? Maybe, just maybe it's because he's not as good as you think he is? -
You guys are crazy if you think Russell Wilson would sign on with the worst team in the league to be a backup to mentor a rookie. I don't care who he knows here it ain't happening.

Getting Crunch Time for the Panthers and Brian Burns

I admit to wanting to use that money on players that can and will contribute something on game day. This team is in no way shape or form ready to hand out large contracts to any player. The team is too devoid of talent for that. On top of that they want to sign an underperforming player to a massive long term contract that he hasn't come close to earning. The insanity continues i see. -

I'd say leading the league in tackles for a DT is doing his part. You're right one player does not make the defense. Just as one player does not make an offense. Each player is expected to do their part and contribute their all on game day. On defense Brown is our best. Burns comes in at 11th in the effort and contribution to the defense. Does that explain it? -
This needs to be repeated everyday as a reminder to those that think this team is a few players away from taking the nfcs. It also should be posted in big bold letters on every executive's office wall in BOA.
