  1. Pretty much. Look at it this way, would you as a DA want to go you trial without your primary witness? It doesn't matter why she is a no show in the end, unless he killed her of course. Even if he paid her to disappear, which is illegal, she would have to still show up to testify to his coercion and bribery. She got what she ultimately wanted in money and revenge for dumping her. He got what he wanted by this all going away. Both parties happy so why prosecute him over a misdemeanor when all involved just want it to go away?
  2. Maybe he did try but she wanted too much money? It's not unheard of for a situation like this to be settled at the last minute. It happens all the time actually, it's called negotiations.
  3. I think it falls under - corruptly persuades a person. Which would be the case here if he paid her off to go away.
  4. I beg to differ on this. You can have your ass arrested if they go to the police and make accusations and show bruises that they got doing something else. Trust me I know this for a fact. Sent from my Nexus 7 using CarolinaHuddle mobile app
  5. I can vouch for this. Ex wife faked an injury to have me arrested for domestic violence out of spite and I had to go through hell to get my name cleared. Guilty until proven innocent is how it works. It's still on my record as being charged. The only way to know the truth is to read the trail transcripts. I'm not making light of domestic violence, just my experience in that situation. Edit: corrected the charge. It was for domestic violence not assault. Had to look through my shyte to find the papers. Tried to forget the hell I went through so forgive me if I got the charge wrong. Sent from my Nexus 7 using CarolinaHuddle mobile app
