So let me see if I've got this straight. Tepper is essentially blowing up the team and starting from scratch to get Watson. He's willing to give up 4 drafts, yes 4. He's giving up his first pick this draft which is essentially all of it. The 2 following drafts and his first draft of all defense. Leaving him with all corners and 2 linebackers on defense. The rest will come from the latter rounds of future drafts I assume. So you've got Watson, no oline and whoever they don't trade or cut to gut under the cap left for offense. They will build around him with lower round picks and whatever free agent they can afford after they pay Watson 40M a year. Did I miss anything?

PJ Walker could lead the team to the first overall pick with a lot less drama. Kaepernick from a pure qb perspective wasn't that good when he was in his prime. Being out of football this long he could beat out PJ much less Darnold. Besides he doesn't want to play anyway.

Has this brain trust done anything logical so far?

I just can't see how McAdoo can pull that off while installing a new whatever bs offense he can pull out of his ass. You know he rolled Rhules play book up and threw it in the trash as soon as he was hired.

You would be doing Willis a grave disservice to start the kid year one. He is in no way ready to play in the NFL. No amount of pixie dust is going to magically turn him into a pro ready qb in one training camp. He's a long term project that has a slim chance to work out on well coached team. He has zero chance here.

Thats pretty much going be to view of the organization to every FA out there. We all were fooled by the early success, including our first few opponents because they didn't take us seriously. Then came the infamous Dallas game. The game that exposed just how unprepared we were for the reality that this team still has a long way to go. As the season unfolded it exposed just how unprepared the coaching staff was for the NFL. I'm getting depressed.

He probably would have stayed if the staff showed any sign of knowing how to compete at this level. He wants to stay close to home badly but he's not going out on a perennial loser no matter how much they offer him. Maybe someday before I die I will get to see a Panthers team the is a serious contender ever frigging season. To hell with this every decade bullshit.
