Triggering Every NFL Fanbase: NFC Edition
Jon Snow replied to L-TownCat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Can't dispute anything he said. -
I meant that they thought that with Stafford on the team the could possibly contend last season meaning the 1st round pick surrendered would be a low first. That is not so bad. This season its Sam's turn to show he can be that guy. We are either drafting a QB or a LT in the first this coming draft, unless it's traded for one. Either way we should have a good idea which one or both is drafted by seasons end.

No he definitely understands, he just don't care.
-
3, but only the first two are essentially guaranteed.

Our plans for DJ are ultimately up to DJ. He balls out he gets paid. It's that simple. Whether it's us or someone else. I think we will be fine if it's not us. It's a good problem to have.

He would've been a better place holder to allow us to compete while they searched for a better option. They are still looking for that guy from what I can tell. I get the impression they think the odds are better to find a competent place holder than a franchise qb right now. The thinking would be that it will buy them time to develop someone. That's my perception any.

I think we all know who the possible huddlerz are on here that preach the same sermon daily.

Panthers changing their strategy for building a winner

You seem to care more about how the books are kept than what the value of the contract is. He is being paid an average salary of 12.5 mil a season for 3 seasons. I'm not sure why you are focusing on his last contract is no longer in play. The past signing bonus has already been paid. I couldn't care less how its accounted for on paper.

Panthers changing their strategy for building a winner

It depends on how they draft. Draft well enough and they may not have to pay "everyone". They have to choose wisely in that regard. We need enough depth to allow for the possibility of having to let someone walk occasionally. Something the past GM's didn't quite grasp. -
Falcons sign Josh Rosen to compete for backup spot.

Most of this board thinks the same thing. -
Which should surprise absolutely no one. It's was always going to be Carter. Perryman is just collecting free money.
-
I think they should try this.

As much as it pains me to say this but I tend to agree. If the choice is JJ Walker or Grizzly Adam's I suppose I'll have to take the fuzzy.

I'm still concerned about our secondary. Also that Wilson kid is not looking too bad. I put the odds 50/50 at the moment. Get back to me after the Steelers glorified practice.

I wish I could pie you to infinity. Well said my good sir.

Bingo! We have a winner. For this team, and this team only as IDGAF what others do, the battles have always been to move up the depth chart. You see it kinda goes like this, 3rd stringers have to earn reps on 2nd team, 2nd team have to earn reps with the 1st team and the 1st has to hold onto their spot. I think you can determine rather quickly who is in danger of losing their spot on 1st team. After that it's decided by game tape. Darnold is starting no matter what. Just like CMC and the lot.

This^ You guys need to let the Fields dream go.
