Terrace Marshall Jr. is leading the NFL
Jon Snow replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
He has more upside than Moose. Marshall has the potential to be the number 1 wr and I'm not just overhyping him. DJ and Sideshow Bob better not sleep in this kid. -
OK, Preseason is over. Name your starting 5 offensive linemen.

Eflein is a complete liability no matter where he lines up I'm afraid. -
He is a mountain of a man thats for damn sure. I sure hope he works out.

I like this combination at the moment. -
I agree with you on this. They have their hands full with this qb room.
-
That was painful to watch. I laughed the first time they called it. After that it wasn't funny anymore.
-
Sorry, I was thinking Tim.
-
He would've made a good guard.
-
I'm thinking it's a combination of both.
-
Well yeah. They t'd off on Eflin and Paradis who were trying to help each other and failing miserably. It was bad all around.
-
I would argue it makes you look worse when the guy next to you is getting curb stomped on every play. Your opponents start focusing on your side and well, you see the results.
-
I don't know that is that they are sold on him as mush as they think his experience is bit more of an advantage than pure physical talent for them at the moment.

I have a good feeling about the rookies. I think you will see a noticeable difference when they finally get to start. The left side is still a mystery however. But I'm like everyone else in that I am totally mystified as to why Moton is not on the left and Christensen is not on the right at tackles. The left guard and center positions are a mess right now.

Good feels, but we see the elephant in the room

Bingo! We have a ways to go in that department. -
If he could just be average the rest of the season Darnold might have a fighting chance. But I still see the same issues on offense. The run game will be an issue I fear. They did manage to run against the second team with our backups but it didn't look good. Time will tell I suppose.
-
Does it matter? We will probably struggle even with Darnold so if he goes down well, top 5 pick here we come.
-
This I can agree with. You might as well throw that rookie long snapper out there if you are down to trying Erving. Even considering Eflien who supposedly played center is a downgrade.

I think us fans see what we want to see. It's more hope than reality. The number one rule in watching sports is never buy into what a journalist is selling. Most of the time it's just fluff pieces to make a paycheck.

Premature evaluation problem? I think there is medicine for that.

That is why you don't listen to fan enthusiasm on the signing of a player. I'm guilty of it myself sometimes. Paradis was always overrated to me but I'm not a pro scout. I'm just a fan
-
He and Moton were the least of the problems with the line tonight. Both starting guards and center were not very good, and that's being kind.
-
So is Eflein. He's bad in just about every position. I'm not sure he's even a decent backup. I just hope he can be just average until one of the rookies are ready. I'm really concerned about its current configuration.
-
The rookies are not playing until they learn all the protections. The sad part is the current starters know them and they still can't protect worth a damn.
-
So... Sam Darnold. Are you encouraged or discouraged
Jon Snow replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
You can say that for every team. Hind sight is always perfect. Tne money was spent to ensure there was someone to hold down the position until they found someone better. There was no guarantee that the draft would yield the talent they managed to get. I was never a fan of trying to build through FA nor going after "big named FA's" anyway. Sometimes you have to try to hedge your bets before the draft to ensure you don't get caught drafting for need. That's a horrible way to build a team. I can almost guarantee that Fitts is feeling a bit of buyers remorse with quite a few of these guys himself.
