I mean...this goes without saying.

Shoulda wore a condom.

The LS will start next season. Forward thinking is never a bad thing. The question you should ask yourself is this, is the team as a whole more talented and deeper than the season before? I think you know the answer.

I don't think they had a specific oline position targeted other than the LT that was taken at 7. The rest were arranged by groups regardless of the round projection. I think I heard Fitt say his cutoff for true top 10 talent was 11 or 12, I think, but that's another topic. That's why they kept trading back because the difference after the first 10 or 12 in their mind was miniscule. Apparently this draft wasn't top heavy in their minds. Don't shoot the messenger.

I tend to agree but I would caution you about listening to pundits. They don't lose their jobs if they are wrong. But just watching the game you can obviously see the tackles are not our problem. Eflin is the head scratcher for me unless they just needed a backup center and even then I would have looked somewhere else. Injury and inexperience has culminated in the lineup you see now. This upcoming game may be the last time you see the current guard lineup.

I don't think it's up to him. But I think I heard it mentioned on a game broadcast...or it was the voices in my head again.

Not sure why the jumpe6 on Eflin so early and I agree he wasn't worth signing. Maybe because he can be a backup center? Erving I get because he is a natural LT, albeit not one you sign long term. It appears the hope was to get some help in the draft, which they did accomplish. Now it's just a matter of finding out if there's a competent starter among them. The view from the cheap seats appears that they just might have gotten 2 from the draft. That's a good start with Moton locked in.

Sad thing is he was the best of the street walking guards at the time if I'm not mistaken. Which says all you need to know about the FA pool.
-
He has no reason to sugar coat it.

I watched it live and it was brutal. I can't imagin it looks any better in slow motion.
-
It was coach Meyer who said it.
-
Nailed it.

I just saw that. Lions practice squad.
-
Word was they tried to trade down but couldn't get the partner/deal they wanted, so they stayed put. Not sure who the target was if they traded down.

fug the Saints. That is all I have to say about that.

Maybe, of course all coaches believe they can get more out of a player. I just think it comes down to getting some vets on the line for now because that is really the only option for now. I'm not ready to say they don't prioritize the oline or value it. They just have way to many holes on this team and you can't fill them all in one or two drafts. I'm going to let it play out before I make my final conclusions.

I'm not sure that those are the guys they are developing. Those two are place holders in my estimate. Not very good ones but pickins are slim right now.

This^ It doesn't matter who you target its who you end up with. If your coaching is worth a damn you will make do. I always laugh at those that say they've ignored the o-line and more specifically the LT. They haven't ignored it, they are throwing whoever they can find worth a damn at it since Rhule got here. But you see the problem is this team needed so much more than the LT position addressed. I would love to see a list of these players that are out there just dying on the vine everyone laments about. Those folks act like its raining All-Pro LT's and our front office is standing outside with an umbrella. As for the draft, it just didn't fall our way on that front. We are too depleted of talent to give up more picks for a chance on just one position. We didn’t have that luxury this year. We still need more draft picks for the upcoming draft by the way. So fo the TL/dr crowed, we are not where you think we are in this rebuild.

He's pretty good a run blocking. Pass protection is serviceable until a better option presents itself. The guards however need a lot of work. They better get these rookies up to speed before they get Sam broken worse than he already is. Oh, Paradis is getting his lunch taken wat too often.

I was at that game in the western end zone lower level. It was a sight to behold JStew putting Ronde's face in the dirt.
-
I sure hope so. It's hard not to envision that happening with the options available to him. But Brady better get his head out of his ass and help him out with better plays to mask this oline. The middle of this line is a disaster right now.

Nearly everyone has looked ugly the first game of the season. Don't buy or sell based on the first game.
