Darnold might be the next one out the door
Jon Snow replied to Matthias's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm sure they were. But if they were competent at all they don't count on that to be guaranteed. It's a 50/50 shot at best. You don't hang your hat on that to work out in your favor no matter how confident you are. If you do, well good luck without a plan B. -

I know. It is a bad time to need a qb but I suppose it's never a good time to need one. Let's hope they have a plan B in mind if this experiment fails. Same goes for the oline. I suspect the lack of available options going forward led in part to signing Sam's extension. It gives them time to sort it out. -

If it becomes the norm we will be looking at a top 5 pick and we are right back where we started in the qb search. -

Probably. It depends on how many of those he has the rest if the way. -

This^ If he's not it will be whoever missed their block on that play. -

He will get another season unless he has more games like yesterday. -

No, but the game was over long before that. That was just the final nail. -

This^ The oline situation has to be fixed and the game plan has to drastically improve first and foremost. Then you can figure what you need from your signal caller. If it's the qb then the coach has some explaining to do. -
If he gets hired away then so be it. Then it will be on Rhule to fix the mess. But he may be part of the problem.
-
...that Saints offense he's trying to imitate is not going so well for him. He better start earning his hype status or he can gtfo.
-
It appears to me they are trying to improve their draft position rather than win now. But to the topic at hand it has become obvious that what Rhule thought would be good enough just isn't. It's either the players, the scheme, the coaches or some combination there of. This is not a good look for their decision making at all.

And stopping the run. We should run the damn ball all day on that bunch, but we won't. If this team doesn't get out of whatever funk they are in I don't think they have the confidence to win another game.
-
Especially since Brady rarely uses him. It appears that they only took Marshall to keep him away from the Saint.
-
So I had it backwards. Excuse me. He still is not good at his job. It's easy to blame everyone else for his ineptitude so I would not hang my hat that. I know this, I will not lose any sleep if he gets another gig somewhere else.
-
Explain to me why he sucks so bad at it. He's in over his head.
-
Like I said between the 20's he can get yardage, but in the redzone he is ass. That's why someone else took over the play calling in the redzone at LSU. He's not good at it.
-
No he didn't. He looked in over his head since he arrived. Brady can call plays between the 20's but the redzone is where he crumbles. I'm not impressed one bit by the guy.
-
I still think they have the talent to get there. They also have the ability to not live up to it. Who knows?

I predicted 9 to 10 wins before the season started and I'm still learning that way.
