Everyone thinks these guys are going to break the bank. The reality is that only a handful actually do. The rest just get minor pay raises.
-
My money is on OT or DT in the first round.

You will have a backup at minimum for 3 year's.

Did you watch his recent interview? He does not pick the players. He freely admits he is not involved in choosing what players they go after. He is the guy that sets their value and the value of all FA players. He will argue about salary cap impact and strategies of said players but he doesn't choose who we sign. He only tries to make the best decisions on the money side.

Exactly. We should have jumped on that.
-
I said all along he will not get 30M a season. I said we should have offered him 12 per but it looks like Miami wanted him pretty bad. That's not a bad contract for them.

LAST MINUTE: Panthers teasing something later today
Jon Snow replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Its a good video. Fairly honest evaluation of the season if you take it for what it is. It covers the things that went well and touches on some of the not so well. It does give you an idea of how the players interact with each other and what they are really like on game day. -
REPORT: Panthers interested in trading for Brian Thomas Jr
Jon Snow replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
We don't need this guy. Why and hell would they trade for him? I'm calling bullshit. -
Then just eat it and move on. We need a starting LOT anyway. Hell no to any extension no matter how small for short term gain as far as I am concerned. Let's have none of that Marty Hurney crap.

Adam Schefter: Panthers getting trade calls for Andy Dalton
Jon Snow replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm thinking he will get traded before he plays his 5th season. His replacement comes from the 2027 draft. -
That is still wasted money. Just cut him if you cannot play him at LT. He is no longer in the future plans as far as im concerned. If you plan on making him a guard are you going to extend him when you don't know if he can play that position? It makes no sense to try to rework a contract on a big man with this injury when you can just cut him and have all of the cap savings to use on your new rookie LOT and another position of need.

Adam Schefter: Panthers getting trade calls for Andy Dalton

I'm shocked. Didn't see this coming. -
I would rather release him with an injury settlement before I would consider an extension. You do not extend a player that may never play at a competitive level again. That's Marty Hurney level GM'ing right there.

The first 3 picks would certainly help this team and would dill immediate needs. Must be why it feels like a needs based mock. If that was the best they could do I would comfortably say that they got 3 starters out of that group. I know nothing about the rest of those picks.
-
The problem is he's not much better than Andy at this point in his career.
-
And he smells like hotdog water.
-
He can still catch but he's showing wear and tear. Words to the wise.

Thats why you judge OL by their fluidity of movement and upper and lower body strength. The only advantage to Proctor is he also played basketball. He's pretty nimble for a man that size. Of course that doesn't mean he will be good but he has some advantages others do not have.
