Well look at it this way, no matter who they draft this team needs talent. If Rhule takes a QB it only adds depth at a much needed position. If it's a tackle it adds depth at a much needed position. Neither will ultimately save Rhule's job next season. It's a win/win for the fans and the next regime.

"What are we doing in the draft" 2022 edition.
Jon Snow replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Sam is here regardless of who is drafted. The only way I see him gone is if they draft AND sign/trade for another QB. -
Honestly I hope they pick one of these guys in this year's draft and one in next year's draft as well. In my dream scenario they would get a LT and a project qb for next season. Then trade with another bottom dweller like ourselves for their 1st in 2023. They would trade a player for that pick and position themselves to go after another promising qb. They would continue to do that until a franchise qb emerged among them. One can dream...

Flip them and you have a deal.
-
That's a great trait to have because he certainly will need it at the next level. These kids have not seen a fraction of the pressure they will see at this level. I'm not talking just about the pressure on the field either.
-
I'm with you on that. Willis is a huge gamble that may never pay off. Corral and Howell seem to have the best shot or should I say the odds favor them being an nfl caliber QB. But that's not a guarantee in the least. It takes so much more than talent to be an NFL qb.
-
Someone will take him in the 1st. I would almost bet he will go before Willis. I would take him over Pickett and Willis.
-
Howell has just as good of a shot to be a good to great QB as any of the other kids. His fate will somewhat be in the hands of the team that drafts him. I would prefer him over Mayfield and Jimmy G.
-
He also threw it inside where the defender can make a play. Look, I'm not trying to bash the kid. He's got talent like most of the QB's in this draft. He's also got issues that will need to be corrected or his fate will follow all big arm QB's drafted that never amount to anything.
-
That's my thinking as well. But will give him the attitude adjustment he needs?
-
My reasoning for waiting is the hope it will be someone else making that decision.
-
That play took 4 seconds from snap to windup. That rarely happens in the NFL. He does have an arm though.
-
Well he does have confidence and a short memory. That's on the QB wish list/check box thingy somewhere, right?
-
Relax. It was a joke.

News to me.

Of course we would. If we had the benefit of hindsight I would say everyone would go back and take Tom Brady with their first pick as well. But unfortunately it doesn't work that way. Hurney's greatest talent was being able to pick a no brainer 1st round selection in the top 10. That act alone kept the fans and owner from remembering why we were picking that high in the first place.
-
He has to audition somewhere so it might as well be here. I hear Tepper pays a qb well no matter how much the suck so there's that.
-
Come to think of it, Hurney hired his replacement when he hired Rhule and by extension when Rhule hired Fitterer. So in essence Hurney never left. We are no further along than we were 3 years ago. Only the names have changed on the doors but there's no real change going on.

Nice comeback. He's still a pussy.

Who is the second best tackle/left tackle in franchise history?
Jon Snow replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
Its not might be he is the second best. Soon to be the best. -
Get back to me when he doesn't fold in the playoffs. He's a pussy.
-
Duh.
-
It's been awhile.
-
Let them trade for him. I hope they sink a fortune in capital in him while we kick his ass every time we meet. He's severely overrated.
-
As long as it's not to the Panthers it doesn't move the needle for me. It would make it more likely we get a tackle in this draft...I think.
