Probably close to an even split would be my early prediction. -
So far, no.

I doubt he gets to stick around long enough to find out. -

They picked up his option as soon as they completed the trade, whenever that was. -
That's a lot of assumptions or should I say hopeful thinking. I've seen nothing in his history to suggest he would try to be a good teammate. I just do not want that asshole near this team and especially around our new draft pick. Darnold may be ass as a qb but he's one hell of a teammate. The amount of hatred and boos he's had to endure yet he still puts on a smile and tries to do his best. Unlike the little sh!t Mayfield who throws a tantrum if things don't go his way. Hard pass on Mayfield.

That would be my second favorite option. My favorite option is to steer clear of that drama queen.

Make mine a double.

This board goes as the team goes. It's nothing new.

Even if we are drafting at 32 I'm still looking at the qb's. Granted that would mean we could wait a season or two if that miracle happened. If we are sitting right smack in the top half again I'm going qb in the first. Developmental qb's are always part of the plan. But in the meantime we do not have a legit starter. I vote to continue to add through the draft for a while.

Promise is good but that's no guarantee. I'm taking qb's until one is clearly the guy. We need a good backup too so we should keep drafting them. Too many want to put all their hopes on Corral but to me that is putting your eggs in one basket. We need more qb's to comb through. I just don't get the "find out now so we can decide" crowd. The decision should have already been made to add another one in the next draft. Hell they almost took two in the last draft. It's obvious they know they need more chances at them so yes, draft another next draft regardless of how Corral does. We need someone to backup Corral if he shows out or replace him if he doesn't. That qb should come from the draft, the next draft not 2 years from now.

The only acceptable trade for Mayfield would be a straight up swap for Darnold. Would not give up any picks whatsoever.

It appears to me they are trying really hard to avoid starting Darnold this season. Looking at the depth chart it would seem the chances are good another one will be signed.

I could set myself up well with that added in with my pension plan. I'm a year away from eligibility so that would tip the scale for me.
